I don't know that this is so much a "business" as an event. I wanted to get out of the city and get some exercise. A friend suggested this hike and it was beautiful. We'd had so much rain during the trip that I didn't know how it would go, but the day I had to do this was perfect. I took a bus from downtown to the Spit Bridge and headed towards Manly. I had lunch there and caught the ferry back to Circular Quay.
There is plenty of signage, so it is pretty tough to get lost, but having a trail to follow using AllTrails wouldn't hurt.
This trail has a lot of steps to climb, sit has a lot of beautiful views of the water and Sydney in the distance.
Make sure you've got enough water as it is about 10 km to Manly. Also note that much of the middle of the trail does not have a lot of shade, so plan accordingly.
I definitely recommend this trip as a way to see more of the area (I'd spent several days in Sydney for work and wanted some nature).
It was only a few bucks for the bus to the Spit Bridge and I think less than $20 USD for the Manly Fast Ferry to get back to Sydney. It was cheaper for the "regular" ferry, but not much.
Plan to eat lunch and look around Manly while you're there. The Manly beach is not far from the ferry terminal and there are plenty of coffee, ice cream and take-out shops in the area. read more
