Ordered a cappachino and the Mushroom Bruschetta - Roast mushroom, pumpkin puree, proscuitto, pesto and eggs. WoW! Amazing! Didn't have to wait too long also for the meal. By the time i left all tables indoors was taken and they had a few people waiting on take aways. After ordering i noted that they serve milo milkshakes and freshly squeezed juices! The boneless fried chicken is awesome and probably a little addictive. The spicy drummettes are great too but if you like you food to blow your head off with spice then you'll be disappointed. Our order of boneless fried chicken was tasty and not to oily but a bit on the dry side of being cooked. The meal comes chips and gravy, so you have to order a side if you want to some variety. Beer and wine available - take a tip, have a beer, the wine is served in a tumbler and a bit ordinary. The menu is as the name suggests - ribs and burgers. Lip-smackingly-good sounding ribs and burgers. We were both on a ribs mission, so although the burgers looked and smelt fantastic, pork ribs it was. These babies are the premium price, with beef and lamb also on offer and sides of fries, salads and wings all available. The ribs came pretty quick and they tasted wonderful. Like all ribs, they looked big on the plate, but I have to say I could have had two. The serving size is about half of Hurricanes, but in reality it is adequate. The fries are unreal - buy a plate, you won't regret it. All the food is served on enamel tin plates, also pretty funky and of course pretty much bullet proof. I would have to say next time I will be sure to order some wings to start, cos they look great and I could use the extra. The menu has stuff from burgers, to fried chicken and waffles, to bagels, to omelettes, and even some braised beef. They also sport some staple sides like mac and cheese. Well I obviously came for the burger...and thankfully you can add extras to it. I got the Cheeseburger ($15) and added a 2nd patty plus bacon ($5, $3)...each patty is 180g so it's not a small burger even without extras. We also ordered the braised brisket. The burger is pretty good...the best way to describe it is although it's messy, it's a "clean" burger. You can eat this burger and not feel gross afterwards...but then sometimes I don't know if that's a good thing, as part of the experience of eating a burger is that greasy heart attack inducing grossness you feel eating it sometimes, like at Mary's. It's tasty but it's missing an extra kick, or the X factor that makes it completely stand out. It's an awesome new addition to the burger scene in Sydney, and especially out in Bondi. Bonditony's has some competition now, though Bonditony's bread still wins, the meat here wins over Bonditony's. The braised brisket is alright, it comes with a side of sweet BBQ sauce, pickles, and cornbread. Here are words associated with Sprout that will tell you all you need to know: kale, quinoa, organic, green bowl, activated, superfood. I was a tad hungover so eschewed the benefits of a green bowl for an organic beef burger with relish on a triangular bun (triangles are back, yo!) that was a proper two-hand job and left me feeling way better than a milk bar burger might. The coffee is all kinds of great too, as is sitting outside on a milk crate in the little corner nook between two shops like some kind of breakfast creep.

We needed to have brunch before another roadtrip and the missus suggest we try this place as she had noted it had opened recently. I guess the first test of any cafe is their coffee. Sprout has great coffee and it was well made. No complaints. I ordered the Egg & Bacon Roll (see photo) which came with rocket, tomato relish and aioli. The rolls itself was one of the triangular Brasserie Bread rolls and with the fillings quite literally became a handheld meal. I appreciated the fact that the fried egg still had a runny yolk - as I have a personal dislike to hard cooked yolk. The missus stepped up and ordered the Big Breakfast with added Avocado (see photo). The whole meal was good, and we both noted that the poached eggs were cooked perfectly (slightly done but still runny). - yeah I'm a runny egg fiend. We sat out the back on the Terrace and enjoyed the fresh air whilst looking at their new garden set up. The man in the store explained that they were growing a kitchen garden down the long side of the backyard and that the smaller patch nearer our table was likely to be some citrus plants. All in all, a nifty little spot that we'll be visiting again.
