The stand is a solid option if you want a good chicken sandwich or a burger. This is the second location I have been to and it's been very consistent. The service is very efficient and friendly. When you pay for your meal they always tell you that they will come by and clean up ie pick up trash and clean your table after you are done eating. The ambiance is chill modern. The Stand is Fiyya! I understand why they have so many reviews. I ordered today through DoorDash. I work in DTLA, and the food was still delicious when it arrived. The Build-Your-Own Burger (pink throughout) was cooked perfectly and tastes so damn good. The Stand Dog with Chili, mustard, onions, and Fire sauce is another winner, as are the Fire Fries. I ordered Crispy Chicken Bites with Sweet Chili Aioli sauce, fountain soda and Stand Slaw. It took a while to get my food order. My co-worker ordered after me and received her food way before I did. I noticed when I ordered online there is a PDF booklet and I can check out the ingredients. At the store, I didn't see descriptions or ingredients. Just something I noticed. The flavors and textures of everything in the wrap is so addicting and yummy. They do get busy during lunchtime, but they do validate for parking underground which is a plus. It has the vibe of a sports bar, but ordering is done at the counter. The staff answered all our questions and helped us quite quickly. They advised us to get the app to help accumulate points, which I did. My wife and I shared and side of fries, but we each got our own burgers. I got a build-your-own burger with beef cooked to medium, a fried egg, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and sweet chili aioli. The burgers took a good 15 minutes to make but they were worth the wait. The burger was super juicy, which was a texture I had missed from eating so many smash burgers. The burger also had a bit of smokiness to it. When I walked in, the places was empty, but there were plenty of employees, and they were all nice and helpful. I got the Ultimate Egg, which is a Bacon cheeseburger with an over easy egg, pickled onions. The burger was really damn good and messy, just what a burger should be. I do think the onions should've been pickled longer. They weren't as pickled as they should be, so they had more of a bite than they should. The only other thing that wasnt great was the cost. After Tip my total was around $54. That's alot of a burger, a sandwich, 1 order of fries, and 2 fountain drinks. But if you like a good burger, you won't be disappointed read more

Most recently, I tried their Veggie Bliss stacked with a veggie patty, pepper jack cheese, fresh guacamole, pickled red onion, crispy onion strings, sweet chili aioli, on wheat bun. WOW, I was very intrigued by its flavor for a veggie sandwich. Subtle with a huge punch! Another recent try is their Seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich 2.0. It is piled with seared ahi tuna (served chilled), spicy thai vinaigrette, crispy onion strings, jalapeño scallion aioli, stand slaw, sesame seeds, scallion, on a gourmet brioche bun. Double WOW, slices of ahi tuna one after another! I stopped counting. I ended up moving the ahi tuna from the bun to the green house salad LOL. Best of both worlds! Every ingredient played a major role in its yumminess. Besides the ahi tuna, spicy thai vinaigrette and crispy onion strings stand out in what makes this an amazing sandwich. At the end of the day, this sandwich is a MUST TRY in my book! I like it better in the sandwich than in the salad IMHO. It was that good!! Staff was super nice and helpful. Service was good. Just went for the first time and got the burger and sweet potato fries. It was the worst burger I've ever had. Burger was dry and tasteless. It was one of those beef patties you find in a school cafeteria. They offered some sort of side condiment but that didn't help cover up the tasteless, dry burger. And the sweet potato fries were the same. Dry and tasteless. This was a waste of $20. Also, tables are never bussed even where they say explicitly that they bus the table and that you don't need to throw away your tray after the meal. They will do it. Not true! The tables were dirty and sticky and I never saw anyone come over with a wet towel to clean off tables for new customers. Pretty bad experience all around. I would not recommend. read more

It does get crowded at times, so sometimes getting a table can be challenging, but it's a very good overall burger spot. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burgers! They had some unusual offerings, such as the french onion soup burger. I also felt like the price was decent for the quantity of food. Orders are placed at the counter, then you get a number to put on your table. It's definitely geared towards larger groups, with no two person tables inside. I got a standard burger, which was tasty. All of the food feels fresh made and healthy-ish; you don't walk out feeling heavy. I tried one of their new bowls this trip. Tex Mex Bowl 7.510 - Included some very tender steak, black beans, corn, crispy onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, guacamole (got an extra scoop) and rice. The food is fresh and flavorful, with a great mix of healthy options (I like the miso salmon bowl) with splurges like burgers and milkshakes. Everything is made well, and the portions are filling and a great value for the price. Service has been friendly, helpful and efficient. The ambience is nice, too. There are TVs inside for those who want a family-friendly sports lounge atmosphere, but we typically sit outside with our husky. It is great for people watching as it's just across the street from the Pasadena Playhouse, and a good location for an evening stroll over to Vroman's bookstore afterwards. The only drawback is that it can be very sunny on hot summer evenings, even with the umbrellas, because of the angle of the sun setting behind the Playhouse. I've actually been here before, and the first time I went I ordered the French Onion Soup Burger with fries and a graham cracker shake. That burger was honestly one of the most unique and delicious burgers I've had. It comes with a side of French onion soup that you can dip the burger into, which sounds a little different at first, but it works incredibly well. The flavor combination was rich and savory, and dipping the burger into the soup just made it even better. The fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned just right, and the graham cracker shake was phenomenal--thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. This most recent visit was just as good food-wise, although parking was a bit of a challenge. There happened to be a play going on at the theater across the street, so parking around the area was pretty packed and took a while to find. Once we finally got a spot though, everything else about the experience was great. The staff at The Stand were awesome--super friendly, funny, and welcoming, which always makes the experience better. This time I ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with fries, my girlfriend ordered the red curry chicken sandwich, and her stepdad got the ABC burger. Everything came out fresh and tasted amazing. My pulled pork grilled cheese was loaded with flavor, the pork was tender, and the melted cheese tied everything together perfectly. My girlfriend loved her red curry chicken sandwich--it had a great balance of flavor and just the right amount of spice--and the ABC burger was just as solid. I love that they provide indoor & outdoor seating & also appreciate how well kept they keep their store.
