We were guest of a wedding party here, kind of in the middle of no where felt like eating at a grandparents house decor wise. They seemed to go above and beyond for us. staff did really well to get all of our food out, close together for 20+ people. Lots of food auctioning so seat numbers weren't marked but that's just an industry pet peeve of mine. Drinks stayed full, no alcohol on the menu even a partial license to serve beer and wine would have been nice and drove check averages higher but again just my personal opinion. Ribeye and filet my wife and I ordered cooked perfect and were great house salad was fresh. Famous locally, this was the first time I had been to the original location. The restaurant is an old farmhouse which is further evident by its out of the way location in a rural residential road. I got the flat iron steak, baked potato with side salad. This was the best steak I have eaten in quite a while! So juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The baked potato was cooked well and came with plenty of butter and sour cream (by request). So, fantastic meal but just a couple of minor issues. First off, the salad was iceberg lettuce, cucumber, potato sticks that I had dressed in the house made ranch dressing. The lettuce was cut more into clumps than chopped. The drawback is that when it was rinsed, it obviously retained a lot of water as it watered down the dressing. Other really minor thing is that the potato was wrapped in foil and was cut open by a knife. I had to pick a few aluminum foil shards out of the potato after I was preparing it. Yes, that is nitpicking and overall, no penalty, but changing a couple of prep practices can really add to the overall satisfaction of the experience. I will be back!! BTW, the house steak sauce (Vidalia Onion) is great. I don't even usually use a steak sauce but this is too good to pass up. They also have a couple of other sauces they make and sell in bottles. read more

First time here. A very cute, super friendly out of the way place. We went on Friday evening around 6. Greeted and seated immediately. Nothing fancy but homey and clean. Our server was so sweet, and everyone we encountered was attentive and pleasant My hubby had the flat iron steak and I had southern chicken. All meals come with 2 sides. Each meal was enough for 2 people. Served hot and quick. The steak was cooked just as he wanted it. The rolls were a bit salty for me but my spouse loved them ( garlic salt). Our server gave us our piece of cheesecake ' cause it's your first time here.' That is good business!! We met the owner on the way out. She was as gracious and friendly as the rest of the staff. My second visit and I really enjoyed my meal. I got the Thursday night AYCE fish and shrimp special. The fish was fried perfectly. It was nice and flaky and very mild. The shrimp were small but tasty. I ordered the plain white rice and poured the shrimp over it. The seasoned butter made it so good. I didn't like the coleslaw at all, but that is probably just my taste, not a reflection of the slaw itself. We shared an order of fried green tomatoes and they were perfect, not too hard or too soft. We knew what we were getting into going to a steakhouse in the middle of nowhere, but it was pretty good. We got the fried green tomatoes (they give you a TON), but could barely eat them they were so greasy and had almost no flavor at all. I got the Southwest Chicken, which was okay. It's hard to mess up, since it's Chicken breast with bbq sauce and some toppings. It was still just okay (not juicy, but not too dry), filling, and healthier than other options. Arrived Saturday at 5pm, there was a 30min wait with limited seating in the waiting area. One in my party had a low blood sugar and the staff were very good helping with tea and candy. It was loud in the dining area with faint music in the background. The coffee was very strong, the way I like it. I had the $22.95 16oz T-bone with a salad and sweet potato. Warm soft bread and butter was served. Tasted like garlic salt was sprinkled on top. The salad was adequate. I was surprised at the potato sticks on the salad. The steak was bountiful. It was ordered medium but was delivered in a medium rare state. It was very chewy and had to be taken home to be more thoroughly cooked, I don't do send backs. The potato was medium in size. After the salty sprinkle on the bread, potato sticks, and steak, I had to go home and take a lasik and drink a gallon of water. The staff were spread very thin I only saw the wait staff 4 times 1for ordering and 1 for check drop. I had to wait for drink refill. I don't do desserts. read more

Rolls were to die for! Really cute spot. Servers very friendly. We ordered the filet medium rare. I'm not sure what cut of meat I received but I've been eating filet for years and 99.9% sure this was not filet. It was also rare which would have been ok if it was filet but since it wasn't it was very hard to enjoy. Chewy and lacked flavor. We also ordered ribs and they were falling of the bone and really yummy! We will go back for the ribs for sure. I give them the benefit of the doubt on the steak, sometimes the cooks run out and substitute without letting you know. Crazy that we JUST found this lil jewel of a restaurant just off the beaten path! We usually frequent The pizza Farm which is also one of the same ! We were told about this place by a couple we met at another restaurant (yeah we eat out a lot) we prefer to steer away from chains when possible. My husband had shrimp cooked with butter only, he enjoyed it but I had one and felt it not as flavorful or sweet as the shrimp at pizza farm, he did agree with that as well. My son had the beef stir fry which I did not try but he said it had great flavor ! It did look good. We started with the sample platter for appetizer , cheese sticks like most, onion rings were thinly battered and tasted good, jalapeño poppers they both also said were your typical, cheese fries were tasty. My son had lava cake which was good and I had fried cheesecake with raspberry sauce and ice cream. It was good and liked it all together but wasn't something "to die for" in my opinion. Coke was ... Well Coke and sweet tea was a bit weak in all three of our opinions. Could have been just that night ya never know . The rolls were great. The anticipation of eating at this restaurant was span of 20 years. It's out of the way from where we live, but my parents heard it was great. Today was their 57th wedding anniversary and wanted to try this highly recommended restaurant. Did I mention it's out of our way? We entered the establishment and it was nice, rustic and felt like home. We sat and it took 20-25 minutes before we were greeted. The menu looked like things were sold separately but who knew. Once we were greeted we were greeted by a rude young lady who appeared to feel as we were an inconvenience. She asked for our drinks and we ordered cheese sticks and fried green tomatoes. Each appeared to be from a frozen box. I ordered a T-bone cooked medium. It was rather medium well and the server said that's their version of medium as this is how their regulars prefer it. The baked potato was to be loaded. It was not. It had a sprinkle of bacon, some butter and sour cream. There was no cheese. My parents ordered the same thing and we all thought the steak was chewy. I failed to mention that the salads were awful. The lettuce was put in the bowls so wet that the bowl was full of water. This made the lettuce mushy and left the dressing tasteless. My wife had a ribeye and it was great. It was not worth their market price if $32. I think you would prefer a steak at Longhorn or Texas Road House. This place does not serve any alcoholic beverages. A glass of wine would have been nice to offset this terrible place. read more

Tried this out based on yelp reviews. I enjoyed the appetizers (cheese fries and fried pickles were good). The house salad was better than the Ceasar. Now to what matters, the steak. I requested medium on my porterhouse and wife requested medium on the filet. Hers came out medium to medium rare but was flavorful even if the flavor was a little too strong/salty. If I say something is too salty it definitely is ( I salt biscuits and crackers). My steak came out burnt well done all the way through but because it took 45 minutes to get it, I just chalked it up to not their best day. I did order a side order of shrimp (5 for 4 bucks) and they were pretty good but over priced like most things on the menu. Service was outstanding and the wait was minimal. I would give it 4 stars in most every category but the steak and on that, I would give them a 3 on the filet and a 2 on the shoe leather/porterhouse. It cost as much as longhorn so I would recommend that if you don't mind driving to the closest one. If you are ever stuck in the sticks of rockmart and need a place to eat, I would recommend this place as long as you stick to the apps, and the shrimp. read more

My favorite of all times. Me and my husband love their ribeye steaks. The baked potato are great and the rolls ...y'all they're to die for. The tea can be a little watery but it's still on average. Everything I've ever tried was delicious. My husband likes their pork chops also. We always purchased their Cancun steak sauce. Try their dessert ..oh wow truly delicious. The servers are always great. Even if it's not your servers ask someone and they'll bring you whatever. The time line on waiting to be seated is not long at all unless you have aclarge group but considering it's not a hugh establishment the turn round time is good. The owner ( Henrietta) is truly great. She's very thoughtful to her guest and conscious of her patrons. She wants her establishment to run smoothly. Great place to eat.
