I could feel the hair being plucked and I was right it was being plucked because it came back within a week. This place is also overpriced. They charged me over $60 for a 40 minute session. I usually pay $35 (including taxes) for a 30 minute session with my usual electrologist and there is another lady in London who charges $40 for a 30 minute session. Overpriced yet didn't do the work properly. Definitely wouldn't recommend for electrolysis.

When I saw that a new waxing salon was opening on Richmond Row, I decided to make a change. I wanted someone who specialized in waxing and could achieve the look I was going for. Right away I was impressed by their online booking system. You can go on the website and choose a service and then select the time you want. As a child of the internet, I would much rather book online than use a phone and I'm sure anyone can appreciate the discreetness when booking an appointment for something a bit more personal. The salon is fresh and clean with a few products to purchase. The women working at this salon are always very friendly, never fake. On my first visit, I was taken back to the waxing room within a few short minutes. I was given a background on the products they use and how the high quality leaves you less red and is a more comfortable experience. As someone with fair skin, I was happy with that! Their claims were true. While I was still a bit pink in the end, I was not as red as I normally get. In the couple times i have been to Smooth, they have switched to a wax that doesn't require the strips. I felt it was much less pain overall with the same result in the end, beautiful brows. These girls know what they are doing. Never again will I risk getting my brows done at a regular salon. Too many times I would leave with extremely skinny brows or bruised eyes (ouch!). For those who want a bit more grooming and choose the waxing way of life, Smooth has many options for memberships from brows to bikini's. If you purchase the membership it ends up being a bit cheaper in the end. And gentlemen, there is a whole menu of services you can get as well. Terrible brazilian wax, was sure I was going to be tomorrow's comical/unfortunate headline ("Woman dies from freak staph infection after back-alley Brazilian"). Wax and hair all over the floor of the "spa" room (just a messy, cluttered room in a rather messy, cluttered home). That should have sent me bolting for the door - I'm kicking myself now. No degree of professionalism: didn't put anything on the skin before waxing me (talcum powder, anti-bacterial agent, NOTHING), the dog sat in on my appointment because "he likes to be in the room with her" (!!!), door was wide open the whole time to the rest of the home, someone stopped by and she went to answer the door leaving me covered in sticky wax and rather exposed, took care of some calls and admin for her other business DURING my appointment with one hand, left hair down there in patches that was so obvious when I got home I'll actually have to get another wax for those patches once I've recovered - because oh yes, I am bruised as **** too and this is far from my first brazilian, I do not bruise easily. I love a good deal but sometimes you get exactly what you pay for (or less!). Spend the extra $20 and go to Skintreet on Oxford, they do the cleanest, quickest, least painful brazilians I've ever had. Sweet lady, but terrible 'business' - unprofessional at best and downright dangerous at worst. Many people do not realize that waxing - especially brazilian - is so, so dependent on PRISTINE conditions. The practitioner should have plastic gloves, powder/anti-bacterial lotion, a spotless room/table/setting, and materials that give them impression of being brand new and meticulously clean. Otherwise, it's no exaggeration to say you can end up in a hospital with a severe infection that enters through the ripped open follicles. Hence the need for me to post this review.

At my follow-up appointment, the nurse didn't even take the time to mark around my eyes before injecting. I actually jumped in the chair from the pain. She responded, ya its spicy there. Afterwards, I developed noticeable bruising around one of my eyes Overall, I felt dismissed, rushed, and undervalued simply because I wasn't spending a lot of money.
