We dashed across the road , a little cold and wet, and bumped straight into Mugged. We usually get our coffee at a different place but there was something about the green and black exterior, the line up of people, the wet weather and a cupcake stand on the counter that said 'Lollychinos' that made me decide to give this place a try. As if to reward my decision, they sell my favourite, Campos coffee. The large comes with a double shot and mine was really creamy and walked the perfect line between bitter and sweet.

The black and green exterior caught my eye and I was further drawn to it due to a large crowd gathering. I discovered the first reasons for the crowd was that there was next to no seating available. What little furniture there was had been already taken up by a couple of mothers with prams and your typical lycra clad bike rider. The second reason for the large numbers was that there were only three people working, frantically to say the least, at the counter. Much like an assembly line, one took an order, one made the coffee and the next finished it off and called out a customer's name. I was in two minds weather to chance it but I still had a few minutes before my catch up session. At the counter I went all out, a large flat white (for me), and two cappuccinos (for my friends). The total came to around $10, which I though was pretty decent and surprisingly it took about five minutes to get my drinks. I walked across the road, tray in hand and took up on a bench. I tried my flat white. It was passable. Nowhere near the proximity of mind blowing but it did the job. When my friends arrived I handed them their drinks and we started to chat. Nothing was mentioned about the coffee, except thanks for hooking them with a freebie each.

It's a french patisserie that does cakes, biscuits and slices galore and also has a selection of gourmet sauces and chocolates. They do daily salads (just to make up for all the calories in dessert) and can also make cakes to order. My workplace loves to get an enormous slab of chocolate brownie cake which is usually gone in a matter of minutes as the entire office leaps upon it like a swarm of locusts. So good! It's fairly inexpensive as well, a slice of something is only about $4 making it even harder to resist.

The baristas are stellar (Marty in particular is pretty special) and really know their craft. They've recently introduced iced lattes and cold drips to their menu which is music to my ears because I think an iced latte may be my favourite drink of all time. Yes, you need to walk in to a shopping centre but trust me, it is well worth it. Parking is plentiful and the cafe is right next to the escalators on the woolworths side so you don't really need to venture in to the heart of the centre. They have lactose free milk (a god send for those lactose intolerant of us who also despise soy milk) and the service is quick and friendly. Their loyalty program isn't half bad either. It's free to join, you'll score two free coffees on them for joining and if you go anywhere near as frequent as me that loyalty card will score you a freebie a week. Also if you load the card with cash your coffees end up cheaper than the ticket price anyway. They have 8, 12 and 16 ounce sizes and the most you'll pay is $4.75 which I consider very reasonable. I could go on all day but I'll spare you the torture. If you live locally just get in there immediately.

My coffee on the other hand was not so nice as it was only warm & tasted quite bitter, they must not have had their grind right. While this was a sit down Muffin Break I found it quite odd that they don't have table service. All in all it wasn't too bad.
