He told us about the history of the bar, the area, and gave us recommendations of places to sight-see during our brief trip to Southampton. He also had amazing beer/drink recommendations. We ended up talking to one of the regular patrons, who highly recommended the fish & chips. He was not lying, it really was *THE BEST* fish & chips I had during the entire trip. Really fresh fish and chips, really delicious!! It was the best I've had, ever I believe. The space is dimly lit, full of fun trinkets and memorabilia, and has a lot of character. I lost my mind for a moment when I found newspaper articles dated April 2012 from when the Titanic set sail and when it sank. THE newspaper articles. Adhered to the wall with scotch tape (!!). I asked Roo about the lack of preservation/security of these notable pieces of history and his response was, "nobody is going to take that, this is England!"
