I had the chips and salsa, and 3 tacos: Al pastor, peccadillo, and carnitas on corn. All in all pretty good. I would come back to try more of their options. The salsa was a bit too chunky and sweet but still pretty good. The chips were crispy and salted well. The fresh salsa they give you to put on your tacos was a mix. The free was good but was not fresh enough. The red (guajillo I believe) was quite fresh and powerful. The service fell down briefly on a drink delivery but quickly recovered. The ambiance is nice and celebrates the Wisconsin summer when it can. read more

My husband and I ate here today we were swayed by the good ratings. I had a tamale and a chicken quesadilla. The tamale was ok , the thickness of the corn mush was just right but the flavor of the pork was very bland. The chicken fajita had very little substance on the inside, the flavor was bland and the edges of the tortillas werel dried and broken. My husband had a California burrito which was very Americanized= bland and it had at least 8 French fries inside of it!!? Not for us. read more

First time in town, staying at a local hotel. I could have had Popeye's or this place. I chose The Taqueria on the recommendation of the hotel attendant. The food was pretty good. My burrito bowl was tasty. I did have to pay extra for both chips and salsa. This is a place where you order and find a seat then they buzz you when it's ready and you walk to the front to get it. So, no waitress! But still a tip was requested on checkout. Hmmmmm My food had a good flavor and I washed it down with a margarita so it's all good. read more

Excellent excellent excellent. This place was really good. If you like California authentic Mexican food, you have to check out this place. We had a tostada and the nachos. Both were excellent. The order of nachos was huge. I had the steak on it and it was delicious. We shared a tostada, and the chicken on the tostada had good flavor. Owner is wonderful. One of my favorite Mexican places in the fox valley! Their birria tacos are some of the best I've ever had. The elote is immaculate. The service is quick and everything is reasonably priced. My only regret is I haven't come here more. read more

We stopped here while in town to do official photos at the dog show. We drove past the restaurant and thought it looked good from the outside. Glad we stopped in to experience food and ambiance. We were greeted when walking in and asked if we'd been there before. Then given the rundown on the various foods and given a menu to make our selections. The advice was right on for what to try and when we looked at other people's plates everything looked like it was worth trying. Decor was bright and fun and there's a glass garage door that opens for sitting indoors and feeing like outdoors or go through it and sit on the patio Traditional street foods and definitely would try this place again. read more

Oh yes girl!!! Was in town visiting family from Chicago. I asked if they had any new places I should check out, they quickly mentioned The taqueria!! So we decided to stop by sunday morning because I made my way back to the city! Wow!! I have never had such amazing tacos and queso-birrias in the Fox Cities!! There is no better choice for Mexican in town! My family and I call this our go to spot for Mexican cuisine! Not your basic run of the mill taco joint! They have a great menu with many choices, only drawback is you stand in line to order, wait for the order to be prepared which isn't too bad, you're given a buzzer, love the Steak soft tacos, nice lean pieces of steak, and I love there green Verde sauce! Only thing I'd change is to switch to Coke products in the drink station, now that Culver's switched over taqueria can follow suit! All in all a great choice for Mexican! read more

Had the Cali burrito and some of the street tacos. They were all great! The picture doesn't do the size of the burrito justice. I wish the fries were a little more crispy inside of the burrito, but that would be my only suggestion! This is my second review, and I've actually been here 4 times since they open. It's be fantastic every time! Had to show my other pictures and HIGHLY recommend the ceviche tostada. Don't let "raw fish" in the description scare you away. This is a flavor party in your mouth and the texture is perfectly cooked. This is perfect for a warm day and it's so filling and touches all of your tastebuds. The elote is so delicious- sweet, tangy, creamy, savory, etc. And finally, the rolled tacos were good but I thought the filling was a little bland. Just dunk your taco into the provided sauce and it's perfect. I still can't get over how good the rice and beans are. Great job to the staff of the Taqueria! read more

Ambiance would be much nicer if they didn't always play the music TOO LOUD. Music should be in the background so you can talk to people at your table. Instead they have a party volume with the music. It would be nice if a few of the Mexican songs they play would be in English. We would go more often is the music was softer and in the background. The food is very good, fresh and tasty. The service: you counter order, are given a buzzer to pick food up yourself, get your own hot sauces, plastic forks and drinks and buss your own table. Food always comes pretty fast. It's serviced on a paper sheet in a small aluminum tray. Everyone except one person is stone faced and indifferent to you when you are there, except one woman who is friendly and smiley. You aren't greeted or felt welcomed when you are there unless you get her. The good food will bring us back, but it could be much nicer with a few small changes. read more

Love the vibes! Such a cool spot for great Mexican food! Very close to California styled Mexican cuisine which seems to be what they're getting at. Super busy during dinner even on a Tuesday when we went, (around 6 pm) which is all great things. I had a michelada which was tasty and the hot sauces were tasty, service was great, food was great, also a great location (off the highway). Definitely a GEM added to Oshkosh. Came all the way from Appleton and would definitely visit again! Nice up and coming area north Oshkosh. Keep them in business! read more

Yelp did not lead us astray on this incredible find! We were traveling and needed to stop for food, bathroom and fuel. The food was excellent! Authentic Mexican food like you'd get in California! Tacos and the carnitas plate were delicious! Next time, we'd skip the tacos and just share the carnitas plate. The portions were huge, the flavors were amazing and we didn't even finish it all. Chori pollo burrito is as good but full of way too much rice and lettuce. Still it was huge and a decent value. Kid's chicken tenders were good but the fries were terrible. Fish tacos were good. But the ceviche tonight was ruined by the inclusion of hot peppers that overwhelmed the dish, burned my mouth, and had me almost nauseous with stomach pain (tip: the gas station down the street sells Pepto Bismal). I lived in California for 15 years and used to go to Baja (in Mexico) every year. I have never encountered ceviche with copious slices of hot pepper. It just ruined a nice ceviche.
