The small storefront actually doesn't show off the size of the restaurant, as it goes way back into the building, meaning that you can have decent sized group there and it doesn't feel cramped or anything. But we're here for the food, and I'm very glad to say it didn't disappoint! I had chicken satay for entree and beef noodle soup, which was delicious, while my girlfriend had a mixed starter and Panang Curry, which she says was really yum! The only downside was her entree didn't actually arrive, and a waitress came out to ask if we wanted them both together or just to skip the entree, which we did. It was a pity, as we were starving and the extra wait was torture, but the mains certainly made up for it. All in all an affordable, easy, and pleasant feed, we'll definitely be back again, just hope the entrees all make it next time!

I used to forget about Malay food when ordering takeouts, opting instead for more familiar Asian…read morecuisines, like Thai or Vietnamese, but one visit to Langkawi has changed all that! We recently ordered takeouts and were more than impressed. In fact, we were rather angry that we hadn't been sooner - after all, it's only 5mins down the road. Shame on us! It's hard to choose, but our favourite dish was the Kapitan chicken. It was beautifully cooked in a well-balanced, aromatic sauce and served with light fluffy rice. Our only complaint was that there was enough to sauce to mop up with the buttery roti! Special mention must also be made of the Mee Goreng, which was packed full of flavour and had just the right amount of heat. I added a liberal squeeze of lemon to mine and it was seriously good. For $13, the portion was extremely generous - we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. I am rather looking forward to my next visit. Hopefully we will be dining in because the interior of this place is delightful - full of brightly coloured decorations with plenty of sparkles!

It really feels like you're in Malaysia though I've never been, but at least transported to somewhere different. It's warm and the dim lighting creates an intimate, cosy atmosphere. Great service as well. The Kung-po squid came in a long fish dish with vegetables, dried chilli and sauteed squid. Great for seafood lovers. We got the Langkawi fish special which was nice and fresh with lemon, lemon grass and coriander. Beware of the Hot Babi Pedas, as I thought I had a high tolerance for spicy but this was still Hot with a capital H. Pork slices with vegetables and cooked with cumin, fresh chilli and other spices that make you feel like you're going to breathe fire. Nasi lemak is purple fragrant coconut rice which I adore but if you're more inclined to classic, they have plain steamed rice as well. Great order on the side of the curry as well as their flaky Chanai flatbread. Food is yum, decor is absolutely wonderful. Must see

We left New Zealand in June & I have had Thai numerous times since and nothing compares! Seriously, every time I cross my fingers hoping it will be as good and it never is! I was taken to Thai Issan on a date, and was really amazed by the beautiful decor, and the climbing Hoya plant that spiraled all around the room. Creates a sense of exoticness about the place. The food is sensational, I would recommend dining in over takeaway any day, so you get the luxury of the experience. Service was kind, and generous. My mouth waters as I try to describe the taste sensations you will experience at Issan, some favorites of mine are Pad Priew Waan Pla which you can have mild or hot, which is Gurnard fillet in a stir fry with a lovely sweet and sour sauce accompanied by pineapple, tomatoes and cucumber or Gang Dang Goong, a spicy hot tiger prawn in coconut milk, and red curry with lychee. Exquisite taste sensations, you will get hot and sweet together and these will blow you away. Be sure to enjoy some Thai beer or Bring your own wine, and toast to this Thai culinary delight.

Delicious! I needed…read moreto bring back dinner for my brother-in-law, my husband, and me, so I asked an in the know local for their recommendation on best takeout in Takapuna. They quickly responded "Tok Tok". Their most favorite mentions from the menu were the Popping Prawns, Crispy Duck, Shaking Beef, and the Fried Rice... I ordered it all ;)! I'm so glad I did. I literally salivate when thinking about the meal. Ordering over the phone was a breeze, and a friendly. I walked into the restaurant, and was quickly shown a seat at the bar where I could wait, instead of waiting at the entry. The restaurant was packed, and it was clear to see Tok Tok is a hip and cool place to be, as well as welcoming. About ten minutes early, I decided to order a Chilli Margarita from the cocktail menu. I received my cocktail promptly. I had enough time to finish the refreshing work of art, right as my order came out.

We sat outdoors in a fully covered patio that had heaters for cold rainy nights and it felt cozy. The food was excellent. We ordered beef steamed buns, fish curry, miso eggplants and shaking beef.
