Top notch venue. Well-ventilated, great acoustics, easy check-in and great staff. I loved that they had a free water dispenser for those abstaining from alcohol. There isn't a parking space that's dedicated to their use but we used the train - which is just a 14 minute walk away! Excellent, excellent place to watch your favorite bands throw a concert. Old school since 1913. We came out to see the Canadian metal band Worm. The Sunday concert was for 7pm but that's when the doors opened and the band didn't start playing until 8pm. The event was packed and the merchandise line was long. We ordered some mixed drinks at the bar and the bartender was not stingy with the alcohol. read more

For my own personal best record of 30 reviews in 10 DAYS since the beginning of the year... I choose The Teragram Ballroom! This really cool intimate venue has been around for a while as the spot where old and new bands from Band of Skulls, Unwritten Law, NIIS, SCOWL, Joker's Hand and Destroy Boys (right before they got bigger, opening for Blink 182 on tour!) have all played at. The sounds, acoustics and everything are all dynamically set up by their amazing crew of technicians and staff. Custodians are on their toes keeping things clean around here as well. Security around here are very fair. They don't trip about moshers and stage divers as long as they keep things peaceful and fun! Huge plus! Parking can be a toss up, but that's normal and the price around here isn't bad. Lines usually wrap around the building and into the residential area nearby with peoples' houses. It's pretty damn funny, IMO. I was able to see NIIS, Scowl , Destroy Boys and other awesome bands here . Super chill, fun venue! Can't wait to hit up more concerts at this place, because it's one of my favorite small/intimate concert venues around here! read more

It didn't feel too claustrophobic and there was good air flow at least where I was so I was happy. Trying to find parking around the venue is rough but we found some a couple blocks away. read more

Such a slick venue! Came out to see Pale Jay and Brainstory and it was a helluva show. The stage , the lights, and the fog machines make this intimate venue a must see! It's the kind of place where stars are born. There was an extremely eclectic group of fans out on this night, which I loved. Just a bunch of different folks, young and old, hanging out and having a great time listening to music. Surprisingly, the drinks were reasonably priced. I got a shot and a beer for about $16, which is damn good for a concert. FYI, it appears to be a non-smoking venue. A few people were lighting up that jazz cabbage and security was swift to escort them to the lobby area....boooo...lol. But lucky for us, I mean them, they didn't get kicked out and were still able to enjoy the show. I'll be on the lookout for more shows at this rocking venue. One of my favorite things about it, was that even at this sold out show, it didn't feel crowded, and there was never a long line at the bathroom, or the bar for that matter. Come one, come all! Great venue. I have seen several up-and-coming acts here. The staff is amazing and friendly. I counted three full-service bars. I could have missed one. For those who don't drink, they have water coolers on ice. You can ask for a lime or lemon for no charge. I thought that was pretty classy. For a DTLA music venue, this place had an unusually clean bathroom! PROS: Location is everything. There is affordable parking nearby and many nice restaurants within a mile or so. I went here for an IAMX concert. The venue is pretty spacious--toward the back there's a bar where you can grab drinks, and toward the front there's a large open floor for dancing and hanging out, with the stage set up for the band. The speakers are extremely loud, so I definitely recommend bringing earplugs or headphones if you don't want your eardrums blown out. There's no seating anywhere, so if you're looking to sit and take a break... good luck with that lol. read more

Great little venue in ktown. It's a small intimate theater. One thing I'm not a fan of here is because there isn't a slope, or a true GA pit.. the entire GA is one level so it's super hard to see from the back. I wish it had like a level up step for the back area people. Sound quality was fine here but being ear plugs for sure. Parking is street or there is a lot across which I think charges way too much - 30 bucks for the evening in this area is high way robbery. That's what you pay down by the crypto center and there is way more to do down there. But that's not the venues fault of course. read more

Great place to see some smaller acts. Friendly staff, 3 different bars and a good sound system. Get here earlier than the masses and stand (no seating here) close to the stage, or come casually late and hang near the bar. Not a bad sightline anywhere. We saw The Hold Steady and had a wonderful time. Easy to park in the area. Not a great neighborhood, but it's downtown L.A. and they sold street dogs out front from a cart. Two stars specifically due to ADA accommodations. The good: Small, intimate venue, pretty good sound system. I'd probably enjoy coming here for a show if I were able to stand all night. The venue got back to me ASAP when I emailed about ADA accommodations. Staff at the door were immediately helpful when I told them I would need ADA seating. They had us wait right near the door and let us enter before the GA line so that we could get settled. The bad: Once inside we were given small folding chairs, placed along the wall, left of stage. As more people who needed ADA were coming in the security guard placed their chairs all the way down the wall to back of the venue. Though many of them had to come all the way to the front to ask for help/chairs. The security guard wasn't very proactive in helping people. Once the crowd filled in seeing the stage was completely impossible. Not only that, but as people filled in and the show started you're essentially pinned to the wall with no space because people are standing inches away, in front of you. I had numerous people step on my feet trying to get towards the front.There was practically no space for my feet without having to move them each time someone walked by to avoid getting stepped on again. There was absolutely no path left to go to the bathroom/anywhere else in the venue without having to push through people. People who are not able-bodied would have a really hard time getting through and it's a safety hazard. Lastly, the folding chairs were horribly flimsy and uncomfortable and as someone who has to be in the ADA section due to chronic pain, they left me in even more pain. Teragram ballroom, please, please do better for disabled folks coming to see shows here. Those who are disabled should be able to see the stage and enjoy the show just as any other patron would. If you were able to remedy this situation, the venue would be so much better for everyone. There was a small balcony upstairs, but I'm assuming that was for VIP. Obviously it would be nice for ADA to be up there like in many other venues, but I'm guessing there might be an issue with space? Hoping management considers all of this going forward. read more

Attended the Ivy concert last night, May 27. Was really looking forward to it, but there was one serious issue that essentially ruined the evening. There are many positives about the venue. It is a physically lovely and graceful space. Good AC to keep the temperature low despite a large crowd. No issues with the Security staff-they were polite and efficient. Nice bar. The unfortunate issue, which has been mentioned in other reviews on this site and elsewhere, is the incredible noise level that their audio system puts out. They have tuned it to be seriously imbalanced towards instruments (especially drums!), which makes hearing the singers completely impossible. The absolute volume level is to the point of pain (my wife's Apple watch generated an alarm because the level was over 120 decibels, which will damage hearing). We were standing about 30 feet from the stage, about in the middle of the space occupied by the crowd. I had to completely cover my ears to mitigate the noise, as did several other people close to me. This wasn't just 1 or 2 songs. It was the entire concert, which had 3 acts. This was a major disappointment because Ivy is a group that lives and breathes on Dominique Durand's wispy and cultured vocals. She didn't stand a chance. Adam Schlesinger would be rolling over in his grave. Teragram, wise up. Not everyone is there to have 10% of their hearing decimated.... read more

This was my first time at this venue, and overall, it was a great experience. We were able to find street parking, which was a big plus since nearby garages charge anywhere from $15 to $30 for the night. There was no line when we arrived, likely because we got there a bit late and the first artist had already started. Inside, there's a bar in the main dance area, as well as a side bar--perfect if you want to step away from the music, avoid the crowd, and actually hear the bartender while ordering a drink. The music was amazing, and the sound quality was incredible. I did wake up the next day with ringing in my ears, but that's probably because I was standing too close to the stage! Overall, I loved the intimate feel of the venue, and I'd definitely come back. read more

Smaller concert venue that is earning its way into my heart as one of my favorite concert venues in LA. The sound technicians (and of course sound) are great, the bartenders and bouncers were very friendly, and most importantly, they seem to book a lot of shows that are the type of shows I like going to! Just a chill relaxed vibe each time I've been. I would compare it to the Troubadour in West Hollywood, just without the storied history. I think they have food, but I haven't ordered food of the times I've been. And also, I should note that 5 of the 6 times I've been here was for shows/projects that related Conor Oberst, haha. As of 4/24, the shows I've been to - and they all have been great - were: - Better Oblivion Community Center (Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers) - 3/14/19 - Conor Oberst & Friends (all four shows during the residency in March '24 - different songs were played and different guests were there each night) - Ezra Furman 5/16/18 Of the shows I've been to, and at an advanced concert-going age, I kind of post up against one of the walls or towards the back. None felt over crowded with unnecessary shoving, etc. Parking might be tough, but I have been able to find street parking about 3-4 blocks away on each of my visits. Because the shows go on later, the meters aren't usually operational or you might be able to park in commercial loading zones (yellow - do make sure you're able to do it; I don't want to be responsible for people getting tickets, haha, but I've been okay and I think you can) read more

saw Jake Bugg (he made popular songs like Lightning Bolt and Two Fingers) last night at the Teragram! lovely small-ish venue for artists to perform at. parking is a bit of a nightmare in that neighborhood. once the doors opened, they got everyone in pretty fast. they had a small cafe with food, and a bar for drink. I didn't get any food and I only got a non-alcoholic shirley temple because I didn't feel like drinking so I can't really judge anything else lol!! the only thing that sucked was there was like NO seating in this place. most venues I have been to that are considered "general admission standing room" do at least have seats around the sides of the room, but this didn't, and that sucked because I have scoliosis so if I stand for long periods of time my back starts to hurt a lot )-: but Jake Bugg was great along with his opener, Linka Moja!! read more

I came here with my sister to see Belly perform on their first concert tour in eleven years. I had had the chance to see them when I was in college in 1995, and a couple years later, frontwoman (and perpetual crush) Tanya Donelly performed in L.A., but I was busy with social engagements and Bay Area visits, so I rued those two missed opportunities in true, over-the-top John S. fashion for decades. So from the moment Belly began playing until we walked out of the Teragram, I was in heaven. I have very specific recollections of the concert itself and the sound and Gail Greenwood's often funny running banter, but those memories blend into this wonderful haze of frothy pure emotion. Although I had missed those opportunities all those years ago, I was somehow making up for it, even if I wasn't. I had never been to the Teragram, so I had no idea what to expect. It's either a large small venue or a small medium venue. Our show was standing general admission, and it felt perfect for the size of the space and for Belly specifically. The sound was good. I should have brought earplugs, but that's a me thing, not a Teragram Ballroom thing, and if I'm going to have permanent hearing loss from a concert, I'd prefer for Tanya's sirenic voice to be the proximate cause. The people who work here are nice, and they perform their duties with alacrity. There's only a tiny parking lot across the street, which we were able to snag a space in just because we were so early. If you're driving, be prepared to look for neighborhood parking. It's not easy, but it's not San Francisco hard either. A big memory from that night is a homeless woman dressed in all kinds of layers of deteriorating fancy clothes. Honestly, she looked more like a Victorian actress playing Miss Havisham onstage than a real-life person. She was bending down and filling these little cups and bowls with water and calling out to imaginary cats. When we returned to the parking lot after the show, the woman was nowhere to be seen, but at least four or five cats were either eating or drinking from the bowls or slinking under cars, waiting for their turn. It was a strange and sad sight, but hopeful in a weird way as well. read more

Came here to see an intimate concert by Joey Dosik on Saturday, 01/27/24! I couldn't believe how close it was to the Staples Center or Crypto arena. I ended up parking at the lot directly across the street from the front of the venue for $25. Just a note, when I left the venue at 9:30 p.m. parking was reduced to $20 and they only took cash so if you show up earlier or later you could be paying more or less. What's cool about this venue is it's small, but there's room to breathe and move around, once inside. A cool feature is they have a bar AND a kitchen with decent menu items that will hold you over if you're hungry and it's right by the entrance to the main room. Sound was decent inside, but the volume felt like it wasn't full or as loud as I expected it to be, but nonetheless Joey and his band were in the key of excellent that night. Another cool feature was the restrooms were halfway between the stage and the back of the venue AND these restrooms were well maintained, clean with no awkward smells and the tile design made it look super chic. For a venue in downtown Los Angeles, it's pretty clean and unique. Definitely would recommend seeing bands here. read more

Starting with the parking. There really isn't any and if you don't get there really early you will probably have to park many blocks away in a neighborhood you might not want to be walking alone in. Getting in was easy and quick. Security asked me about drinking and I received my wristband. There is no seating where the show is and I went to sit in the attached cafe because I had time to kill before the show started. I had a really good cheese quesadilla, $8. They don't have sour cream. The bartender in the cafe was really nice and made a good drink. The bartenders inside the stage room also served good drinks and were very nice. The price was $10 for a well Gin & tonic. Now for the show. ENOUGH WITH THOSE DAMN LIGHTS! Thank god I don't have Epilepsy because I'm not all that sure I would have survived. Constant flashing for over at least 3 hours. I've been to thousands of shows and have never dealt with this. My two friends with me had the same thing to say. One was even a press photographer and she was pissed. While the first paragraph was good this last one means I won't be going back. Edit: fill your toilet paper more. I bring my own but there were some loudly cussing women. read more

Such a nice spot to see any show! Having seen my share of music acts here, I can say it's one of my favorite spots in LA to catch live music events. There's a couple of Bars inside making it easy to get your drink on! Always fast service and very professional staff working behind the counter. Did I mention super quick service?! I'll continue seeing my favorite artist here, the only Caveat is parking! But hey, DTLA may very well be one of those major cities with minimal parking. Go across the street a few blocks up and you can easily locate a couple parking lots. And don't leave your belongings visible in your car. Kinda shady area, although I've never had any bad experiences. read more

Attended a Social Justice Comedy show here headlined by John Early. I was lucky to find free street parking in front. The parking lot across the street was $25. YES! Walked to entrance and grabbed my ticket with no problem. Security staff briefly explained the rules and expectations of the event and I was on my way. Upon entering the venue doors, a huge bar was there, so I stopped to order a cocktail...that tea from Long Island. Bartender was cool but the drink wasn't as strong as I like but decent. My section was upstairs with seats and booths. It was a great view of the stage. Downstairs was all open floor, no seats. The purpose of the show was to support the Writers Guild that were on strike and the union janitors in several facilities impacted by the labor dispute. I joined some of our union members there. It as good times for a great cause. read more

Again the Security here was so incredibly courteous. Being in Hospitality I recognize this and applaud it. Parking was $25.00 across the street. I sent an email the morning of the Paper Kites concert to request a special condition for my friend who I thought might experience leg fatigue (turns out she didn't need it after all) but they responded via the email and were very accommodating and explained what they could do for her. The musicians were kept on a strict schedule due to the 90's Club that began after Paper Kites were done with their set. I went with 4 Ladies (Little Bit-my daughter) being one of them and she mentioned the drinks weren't strong at all. Sound was great air conditioning was just fine. This was the last stop on the tour so they didn't have much in merchandise but that had NOTHING to do with the venue. I was standing next to the sound booth... as long as you protect your little spot (don't leave for the restroom duh lol) it's a great view of the stage. Very cool little venue. Saw Prayers and Kat Von D, and the space was perfect. There are 3 bars (with free and easily accessible water, which was nice), and I spent a few songs at the ballroom bar and was still able to enjoy the show. There are lots of bathrooms in the ballroom and places to sit in 2 of the bar areas. Would love to come back here for other shows in the future. read more

I live pretty far, so it's not really plausible to drive almost two hours just to check if they had it, and not one phone call or email was answered over the course of a week. This place was super fun, saw one of our favorite bands here. Obviously it's in downtown LA so the outside where the line forms is dirty and sketchy, but the inside doesn't reflect that at all, even the bathrooms are nice! Only comment I would make is to make sure if you are going to drink, even if you aren't sure to get a wristband when they ask for your ID in line outside, they don't allow you to use your ID at the bar inside and won't allow anyone without a wristband to get a drink. A friend of mine wasn't sure if she wanted to drink so she didn't get a wristband & the bartender took her drink from her and said he wasn't able to verify ID's & she needed a wristband. read more

It's located in a reasonly good area. Parking's tricky. Check out Parkwhiz app Insiders similar size to the Palladium's main dance floor. Very clean and well-maintained. There are two bars and there wasn't much of a wait for drinks. Like many venues, they are not straightforward about what time the doors open versus what time the event is. The tickets say 8 o'clock but the concert wasn't scheduled to start until nine. I know they're trying to sell drinks but venues need to be more transparent. They also made us wait outside till 8 o'clock and one of the girls needed to use the bathroom. Yes I would go again and now I know the routine with the parking. I was able to get a garage spot for nine bucks and walk 10 minutes.. read more

Love this place. Great sound system, super friendly bartenders and you will never really notice the bouncers because they are just so unobtrusive. The crowd always takes its vibe from the people who work at a club and you'll never get into a fight here because everyone is respectful and there to see the music, not get into trouble. We saw the AMAZING jazz vocalist, Kurt Elling here last Friday night and everything about the experience was fabulous. I love that it was sort of low-key. From the front door staff to security to the bartenders, the entire staff was really helpful, friendly and chill. Drinks were only 10 bucks. Tickets were only $35! Restrooms were clean and well stocked. The sound was incredible, not blazing loud. It had an old school theater/auditorium vibe that I really liked. I love vintage venues. The ballroom itself was fabulous. The only downside was it was 20 bucks to park across the street. Typical LA. There may have been cheaper options but we were running late plus I would never go walking around unfamiliar neighborhoods after dark. So I love this Indie music dude out of Seattle or Vancouver (can't remember) named SYML (pronounced "SIM-mill"). Dude posted tour dates and I had no choice but to jump on the LA date. I was like Oh HELL no, Sugar Daddy...we not missing this one! Tickets BOUGHT!!!!! The night arrived, we took metro into downtown, grabbed some Chik-Fil-A Scooby snacks and walk hand-in-hand to the location. A beautiful night. Security guards searched my bag to make sure I didn't have anything crazy on me, but they were extremely kind, full of humor and not too intrusive. The venue had/has a bar near the entrance, and when you proceed to walk past that bar into the actual spacious venue, there's another bar inside of there too. No one should be thirsty, OK? There is no excuse. Hydrate with liquor. Standing only, no seats...but VERY spacious and airy. Plenty of room. Great acoustics, AND THE RESTROOMS ARE IMMACULATE!
