The food at the Thai Orchid is always fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The location of the restaurant is not conducive to a peaceful mealtime. The location is noisy, busy and hurried. The ambiance of the restaurant is ruined by the busy location. I do not recommend dining in, rather taking the food home to enjoy it in peace. read more

I didn't realize what I had when I used to live in Queensland, until I recently visited again when back seeing family. I had never had their pumpkin curry with prawns (instead of chicken) before and I can't believe I missed out all that time. Incredible flavor, fresh and high quality ingredients, and combined with their coconut rice? I'll be dreaming of this meal until the next time I'm back down under! The coconut prawns are always a hit, and combined with whatever the yellow-y sauce is (seriously, what is this sorcery?!), they are absolutely mouth-watering. The service is always friendly and quick as well. One thing to note - they charge a pretty hefty price for takeaway containers, so if you know you're not going to finish your meal, BYO! I don't think I can praise this place enough. This is my second time here - ordered pumpkin curry and my friend ordered pad panam ( peanut sauce stir fry) with the coconut rice. We both literally almost died this food was so good. I love thai and this is the best I have ever tasted. I can't say enough good. Everyone else's food around us looked amazing as well. Our only regret is not being able to eat here more often. Having said that, spending $60-$70 on a romantic meal for 2 that tastes awesome with service that makes you feel like a king or queen, well you really can't put a price on that. We nearly always go here for our anniversary & if we want to impress friends from out of town. I always have some variation of the duck dish & I've never been disappointed. Decor has been nicely updated, without being garish & spacing of tables due to covid actually improves the atmosphere. Parking is always a little bit tight, but we don't go there for the parking. Currently, booking was simple by choosing 1 of 2 seating sessions. Bling bling purple lights make you feel like pure actually in Bangkok! I love it! The food is amazing, traditional and probably some of the best Thai I've ever had. (And I've had a lot!) We had the vego pumpkin curry and vego rice - absolutely amazing, I wish there was more and more in the bowl - I think we scrapped every last drop of it out!! Fantastic! Nice Thai restaurant off M1 in Springwood. We ate here with a group of 6 and consequently had the fortune to sample a good number of courses on the menu. The service is friendly and food comes out extremely fast. Most dishes were milder than expected. The spicy basil noodles and basil beef had most kick, followed by the red curry with roast duck. The (mild) soft shell crab with curry paste (listed as "Soft shell crab" under chef's selections on the menu) was tasty, but a bit oily. All dishes were quite good and we walked away with a reasonable bill of $35/person, which included 2 appetisers for the group. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again, but won't avoid it either. read more

A spacious establishment, one of Brisbane longest running Thai restaurant's (Since 1986). A pleasant dining atmosphere. With some interesting Thai decorations. The food is what you would expect of a typical Thai restaurant, with no one dish standing out from the menu. Service wasn't exceptional, with meals brought out at irregular times for diners in a group setting. Overall a good restaurant, but a once off for us. read more

Went to thai orchid for my sisters 30th birthday, food was absolutely amazing, my family have all visited Thailand countless times on separate occasions and confirm the food is very authentic.. Had the thai fish cakes, soft shell crab, coconut prawns, several curries and pad Thai. Love this place, this is our new favourite, even though it's a 35 minute drive for us, definitely worth it! read more
