I bought a car, it had issues which happens. I took it in for fixing, they took three weeks, didn't offer me a courtesy car, and gave me no updates unless I called multiple times to get one. Luckily I paid for the lifetime warranty so I didn't pay anything, when I got my car back, they had used half a tank of petrol and the tire pressure was nearly empty. They also didn't give me back the full money I was owed on coverage for busses and trains, despite providing receipts. I didn't complain as I was happy to get my car back, when the issues returned. Two weeks later my car completely broke down on the motorway with the engine cutting off out of nowhere, luckily it was quiet and I pulled over without incident, despite my engine losing power at 70mph. They now have my car again, and have been providing no details, making me jump through hoops to get it returned, as I have told them I don't want the car anymore, I'm not entitled to any courtesy car or travel expenses, while they hold it for an undetermined amount of time. I can accept that a car may have issues that don't come up until it's properly used, the customer service, lack of care, time it's taken and all round experience has overall been the worst company I've ever dealt with. Please don't make the same mistake as me and avoid. read more

STAY AWAY Do yourself a favour and avoid these guys. I was assured the car had been thoroughly checked before purchase -- yet within two weeks it completely shut down on the motorway. From day one, I've been fobbed off. The battery had to be replaced, all internal lights stopped working, and the air conditioning failed. Then, just seven months later, the car failed its MOT -- with the mechanic saying the suspension was badly rusted and had clearly been that way for well over a year. The car was deemed unsafe to drive. Customer service has been a joke. My concerns were dismissed because I'm outside the 30-day period -- no phone call, just two generic emails to brush me off. At this point, it looks like the legal route is my only option. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. They have no issues contacting you to sell a car but we've had our car less than a month and it has broken down. We have tried for over 24hrs to contact customer services and left several messages to which no one has bother to call us back. My vehicle broke down but I managed to get it home. I phoned them at 5.20 pm no one answered then a message said leave name and number and customer services will contact you back. I left a message stating we had broken down and need assistance urgently but still no one called back. I left several messages over 24hrs but no one called. I phoned the contact details and this time didn't request customer services and got to speak to Katie. She was very unhelpful and very rude. I asked could I speak with a manager and she said no managers were in. While speaking with her she slipped up and said her manager informed her that we had to call for recovery. I then pointed out she had lied and requested I speak with the same manager as she did and she replied no when asked why I couldn't she didn't give an answer. Katie refused to do anything to help. We explained to Katie who refused to give her second name that we had two small children who we would struggle to get to school and by me and my wife work and we wouldn't have a car and requested a courtesy car to which she refused to organise for us just stating we would have to make an appointment with branch and that a courtesy car was available they would give us if not then they wouldn't. My advice to anyone considering buying a car off this company would be avoid them at all costs. They only interested in selling you a car and don't want to know if you have any issues with the vehicle we had this car for less than 28 days. Shocking attitudes from staff. Please please please avoid this company at all costs. Update. We paid extra for the warranty which covers roadside assistance which we called at 5.45 pm and was told someone would be out by 06.45 pm at the latest. We then revived texts stating 07.10, 08.20 and the 09.20 pm so decided to call them back to be told 10.20 pm and they state they can guarantee someone would be out at that time. Decide for yourself if we have received a good service or not. Update 2. AA the company employed for roadside assistance by Trade Centre Wales to either fix or recover the vehicle didn't turn up instead sent another company Lanes to inspect the car. Couldn't fix at road and can't recover vehicle. We are paying on top of the finance for roadside assistance and or recovery £50 a month on top. Do not buy a car off them, don't take the extended warranty package out as it's the most awful service me or my partner has received ever. The Trade Centre Wales you should be ashamed of yourselves. Let's see if I can speak with someone on day 3 of the issues. Update 3. Emailed asking for manager to contact me, they emailed asking what's it about so the right manager can contact me so I said a complaint about a vehicle less than 28 days old from themselves which is broken down and this is the 3rd day of trying to get it sorted and then nothing back. I've contacted them to speak with someone and they had to send an email asking for someone to call me back urgently. I won't hold my breath. Update 4. I have to arrange for vehicle to be collected from my address to their address between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Won't give me a a courtesy as they are all out. My vehicle booked in for repair 20th September. Honestly they don't give a sh_t that they are giving a terrible customer service. I hope anyone who takes the time to read all this doesn't go and buy a car off any of their locations. read more

We trusted the Trade Centre were honest and more than fair with their car sale prices however immediately after purchasing our car for £13999 we discovered an exact same model was being sold by another main dealer for £2000 less and the mileage was lower.. Shocked by this we immediately submitted a form from the car Trade Centre Wales 'Price Promise' web page - after sending the required evidence we were hopeful they will come back with some refund or at least offer a fair compromise. We tried to make contact with someone from the marketing team for 2 weeks and we felt we were being ignored. Eventually someone replied via email saying we didn't meet the criteria due to a different colour! This was very disappointing as we trusted the dealership would keep to their price promise guarantee. We have been loyal customers for last 6/7 years and also this was our 4th car. Sadly it will be the last car purchase by us. read more

Trade center have really honed in to manipulate their trustpilot scores and sadly that's how they are managing to continue to scam everyday people out of their money. I had nothing but problems with my car. They were fantastic during the sales process funnily enough, bending over backwards to get that sale including telling bare faced lies to miss sell warranties (there's an ombudsman for that by the way, only wish I knew sooner) As soon as your car has problems or you want a refund or work done to the car (TO MAKE IT SAFE) you get nothing but pushback or radio silence. I was fooled by the trust pilot scores, also at point of sale when they've treated you like a king they ask for the reviews and it's hard to say no. Bit cheeky when they give u a list of names for you to add in but as I say hard to say no at that point cos your full of their lies and tricks. If you want to go get lied to and throw money down the drain go by the trust pilot scores but funny how these sites they're not focused on (yet) tell a different story huh? read more

Scam of a dealership - sold me a faulty car Within the first month of purchasing the new car the engine light kept coming on making it unsafe to drive as the engine stopped running properly. Took it to trade centre's garage for them to look at it. Said it was the camshaft timing sensor and that they just had to reset it so its fine. A week later the light came back on. Again, took it to the garage, they said and did the same. Guess what happened another few weeks later? The same. This looped about 4 visits the the trade centre garage leaving me without a car for several days each time for the first few months. I then was advised to take the car to its manufacturer (Alfa Romeo) for them to sort the problem out. They said the same and reset it. A few months went by and the light didn't come on until around 7-8 months after buying the car, the light came on again. On top of that the window regulator cables had broken and the gear box as well the rear windscreen wiper motor wasn't working properly. I ended up having to get the car towed to the Alfa Romeo garage at one point. Its just had so many faults and expenses that I shouldn't have experienced after the way they described the car when selling it. I ended up finding a garage who knew that a big 7-8 hour job needed to be done on the car to fix the root of this problem as all these other garages were too lazy to fix it. Luckily I had insurance with RAC to cover this (which was also a nightmare to claim because they're a total ball ache of a company swell). This came out to an £800 job that trade centre didnt want to cover as it had been over 6 months since I bought the car EVEN THOUGH I had been communicating about this problem to them after 6 months had past. Disgusted that they didn't tackle this car's issue properly once and for all before putting the car up for sale. When the guy at the garage checked the history of the vehicle they also found that this car had actually been towed a few times before with its previous owners. lying time wasters.Scam of a dealership - sold me a faulty car read more

absolutely shocking service with The Trade Centre Wales! messed around with what cars we could have, turned around and told we could have an ad car only. had a car in April 2022 and was told we only had to pay 6 months then could exchange the car due to it not being what we needed (5 door and auto we ended up with a 3 door manual) and that we were having it cheaper than what the car was worth due to it being a sale ad car! 6 months down the line we tried to exchange and refused due to not paying 12 payments. 12 months down the line we tried again and were told they could only offer £4k for the car, which was WAY under what we were paying for it, turned away yet again. We had non stop problems with the car from day one, a chip in the windscreen which was unfixed and not told about, a huge nail through the back tyre which when we took to customer care was only pumped back up and told it had been changed, took it to a tyre garage to be told we are lucky the tyre didn't explode and the car flip. we had been told they'd done their "99 point check" however, within a day of leaving the garage the oil had flashed up saying it needed servicing and was like tar when removed and the car was pulling to the side when driving along with the tyre and windscreen problems, the interior was covered in both pet and human hair and make up yet apparently this was all cleaned. took it back to the aftercare and was told as we had done "too many miles" (less than 5k) that any problems occurred were our own fault even though these problems were there when the car was purchased. we've been back and forth for months trying to get something sorted and had nothing but lies and attitude from all the staff. spoke to the manager today and he was smug and said i'm no help yet everytime we have walked in he's turned his head and sat down not offering any support. staff were rude and laughing when we were explaining our problems! 16 months down the line we have returned the car to the finance company and are so happy to be away from there! paying £300 a month for something that was having problems since day one and something we were promised would only be a temporary thing, would never ever recommend them they're all rude, full of lies and are quick enough to take your money, however when it comes to customers they're not welcoming at all and in any way helpful! one staff member who sold the car to us actually got sacked in the end because of the lies he had told us and so many other customers in the past! read more

My Experience at Trade Centre Wales - Neath Overall experience was great from start to finish. Although I felt the waiting time could have been reduced when it came to completing paper work. The whole process took 2.5 hours. Got to meet a lot of the staff at the Neath centre who were all very polite and friendly once they have a sale, however I think the Sales people could do with some training from me on Customer Services to go hand in hand with their Sales training which would actually help them sell more cars rather than scare customers away and make them feel pressured. read more

Cars not fit for purpose. Customer service virtually non existent. Quite easy to buy a car from trade centre wales but very difficult, if not impossible to get any problems sorted. Extras (insurances and warranties) quickly add up and can add thousands to the price of the car. Once you have bought the car, forget about after sales. It is possible to be on hold for half hour (i gave up on 31 mins) and went to their yard instead, where they told me to ring after sales! They fixed 1 of the 3 problems with the car at that time but somehow 'lost' details of my visit and complaint. Would not recommend anyone to buy a car from trade centre wales read more

If I could give no stars I would. Their mechanics lie to your face to get rid of you. Customer care is a massive joke, says on their webite a 100,000 happy customers can't be wrong. With how long they have been around they have probably had a million plus customers and only a 100,000 are happy. DO NOT GO THERE. Avoid at any cost. You will be stuck paying for a vehicle which is sub standard. Can't stress enough avoid them and their finance as once you drive the vehicle away, they get their money and they don't care at all. read more

I walked into the showroom and said I was just browsing. If I did! A salesman said it was fine but did not leave me alone the entire time I was there. He asked me what price I was willing to pay then started leading me to cars that was a 1K above that. I found a car I liked and he brought the price down £1700 but it was still over my budget. He could tell I was interested though and told me to take a seat and see what I thought. No test drive? What?! He said that all the cars are ready to leave with the buyer on that day, so if people wanted to test drive them then the cars would have to be continually checked. So why does the car have one odd rim? 'Um...it's only just come in, you're being shown it first'. Lucky me. Needless to say I didn't trust anything he said and am not going back there. read more

Hundreds of cars here from £3999 to £19999 in price. They all have signs on them saying only £14.50 per week or only £25 per week well for £14 you can get a Ford Ka. Sounds good on the surface! As soon as you enter the building a salesman will attach himself to you. You will not be allowed to walk around on your own and browse, very annoying! Next comes the hard sell if you like a car. Make sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with it because once they have your money they are not interested in fixing anything! Not a great experience. read more

This company makes me laugh. They use a code system on Trustpilot so you cannot leave a review unless you have placed upwards of £5000 in their mits. Their cars are well over priced and I would steer clear and buy from smaller garages who will bend over backwards to do a great deal. read more

Would never buy another car from trade centre Wales, I've had nothing but problems with the mini that I bought. For example: new catalyst converter, new battery, electrical faults, NEW ENGINE! Another issue we had was the RAC cover, this is a waste of time! We tried to use this twice for both the catalyst converter and the engine and was told this is general ware and tare of the car. Very disappointed Trade Centre Wales. Just bought a Citroen DS3 from the Car Shop read more

I bought my car from Trade Centre Wales in June; the actual sale of the car went without a hitch. The problems came when I found a knocking noise on the car, booked the car in to TCW which is when the nightmare started, they advised on the first visit they changed parts which it turns out they never changed, the noise was back before I even drove out of the garage, car was booked back in to have the steering rack changed, over the next week while the car was in the garage I was lied to regularly and in the end was told their parts supplier sent them 4 faulty steering racks which was the reason it took a week to fix. Drove the car out of the garage a week after taking the car in and the noise was still there, rang to reject the car and was given a load of abuse, luckily I had taken the car out on finance and the finance company agreed to unwind the deal if I would agree to an independent assessment. which I agreed to. The assessor checked over the vehicle and I was given a list of faults which the car SHOULD NOT have left the forecourt as it was unroadworthy. Faults including: Sub frame Corroded through, Suspension components corroded, Fuel lines CABLE TIED to the vehicle, and more MOT FAILURES. 2 months after trying to get out of my car the finance company have now unwound my deal as TCW REFUSE to help. I am now involving Trading Standards and X-ray as TCW are refusing to comment on the parts that were on the invoice but not changed. PLEASE BE AWARE OF TRADE CENTRE WALES, I was lucky to get out of my deal but you may not be so lucky. read more

I bought a car at the trade centre in Neath yesterday. The experience had its ups and downs. It was night time and raining so looking at the cars outside was difficult, not only because of the rain but the poor lighting, it was actually really dark. If you are open until 9PM you should have better lights outside. I did see a car I liked however but wanted a closer look so they drove it inside. As it happens the door on the drivers side was slightly out of line and not flush, I pulled this up and the salesman went to get the manager who told me it was flush although it was visably different to the other side. This was frustrating. I asked if I could test drive the car and they said I could but on the condition that if I liked how it drove I would definitely buy the car! With that, he tried to shake my hand to make a "deal" I obviously refused. After that I spotted another car, it was £2000 cheaper and suited my needs more. I am a new driver and was looking for something economical with cheap/free road-tax and a small engine. This car seemed perfect. A good price, low milage, and it was a limited edition version so had really nice features. I expressed interest in the car but as it was cheaper he almost didn't want to sell it to me. He said it wasn't the same quality as the the other car and that it wouldn't last as long. I was then told because it was an offer, I couldn't test drive the car. The manager came over again and I asked if they had a different one that wasn't on offer i could test drive. Just so that I could see if the car suited me. He seemed slightly stumped by this and ended up letting me test drive the original car. As a consumer I feel they should really come up with a different reason for not letting you test-drive. Cars aren't cheap! You should be sure before you make the final commitment. The test drive was ok. I liked the car but the sales assistant was on his phone the whole time. As I mentioned, It was raining and really windy and there was barely any street lights so, him on his phone was distracting. I didn't know where I was going! I had to keep asking him which way to go. Not ideal but I loved the car. I found my perfect first car. After that, there were some positive things. I had a really nice finance guy who was friendly and explained things in a simple manner. Then I had to wait in the backroom to see another finance man. This wait was about 15 minutes. By this time is was late and absolutely freezing in the office, quicker service would have been nice. Everything in terms of paperwork and information was simple and quick, they then helped me insure the car for a day so I could drive it home. I gave this experience 3 stars because at the end of the day, I went to get a car and I found the perfect one for me. I think if you go in and stand your ground, be clear about what you want and don't settle for anything less. If you want to test-drive the car, strongly express you want to. It worked for me. Don't listen to the sales peoples negative comments, I think they are under pressure to sell certain cars and will be negative about the cheaper ones. If you find whats right for you, ask for more information on the car and make your own judgement. The car I got he said it didn't have a service history, but later turns out it did. They are obviously under huge amounts of pressure to sell and I do feel sorry for them. They are almost begging you in a way. The guy who showed me around was nice don't get me wrong, but I feel like he was desperate to make a sale and it was annoying. I was there to buy a car, just let me pick what I want to buy, not what you want me to buy! Sorry for the long review, I just wanted to tell my experience. I think anyplace you go would have a similar vibe. Just don't be afraid to say no! read more

Bought a car Sunday, paid it in full. Great service whilst looking at the cars and when I decided to buy, couldn't do enough. However, that's when the nice service ended. No petrol in the car and only make it round the corner to garage, the car was shaking every time I stopped at traffic lights and at traffic. Phoned them up and was told I would have to take it to there repair centre on Friday as that was earliest. Got there at 9am as stated and surprised to see big queue of customers who had recently bought cars. Left by 9.05 and by 9.20 they had rang me to say the car had been checked and nothing wrong with it. The shaking was normal for that type of car. Woman was rude to me so I rang back to after car services. Told him I wasn't happy and would take it to own garage and was told that if I did they would not longer be responsible for anything else that went wrong. I told him I would contact Trading standards and he agreed he would get another mechanic to look at it. Again was told it was fine and just the make of the car. He again told me I couldn't have another garage check it so informed him I was going to speak to trading standard and take some legal advise. Didn't care. When I went to pick the car up, the same car that was in the garage on the ramp at 9am was still there, no other cars in garage all parked outside. I got my keys back and the woman did ask if I wanted to discuss with somebody. A manager came out and told me nothing wrong with car it was just the make. I told him I had taken advice and was well within my right to take it elsewhere to be checked and surprisingly he agreed I could as long as they didn't do any repairs. Wouldn't recommend this lots to anyone. Steer clear, after care shocking and they will not take any car back once it had left the show room and according to this manager I should have been able to have a test drive. read more

Picked up new car on the friday, drove two mile down the road, warning light on, returned to garage, on inspection found that there was no water coolant in it, despite check list saying that it had been checked, not impressed, before leaving garage more warning lights, one hour later finally fixed. One day later- Saturday water leak despite being told that it had been pressure tested and there was no leak, phoned customer care only to be told no one in garage till monday, Really not impressed at this stage. Was offered a courtesy car, but this did not suit my requirement, bigger wheel barrow in the garden. Must admit have bought 6 cars this is my first bad experience with them , hopefully monday will see things put right. read more

No customer service what so ever. When we entered it felt like it was more likely to be punched in the face rather then buy a car. 3,5 hours waiting with two little children 3years old and 2,5 month, did not offer a drink, club music sutable more for burtons or next rather than car sale, ignorance of the managers, i was 5 minutes away from walking off without the car. Would not recomend to enyone. Go somwhere else. read more

Sales service was great. Then the fun began. Its never taken me 4 hours to buy a car. Serious review of compliance and collections needed. There was a queue of 10+ people who had technically paid for their cars, but due to the set up, had to wait absolutely ages. TCW need to look at this to make it an enjoyable experience. Pick up same day yes, but be prepared to wait as people wonder around aimlessly for hours. read more

Overall I'm happy but here is what I'd like to see changed/addressed. You cant browse live car stock on the website and the vehicles previously sold are almost click bait to get you down there, which for me is a gamble at an hours drive one way. There wasnt anything under 5k which the previously sold vehicles on the site makes you believe. Once you're down there if you're on a lower budget there really isnt much there for you under 6k. Which made walking round a bit disheartening as I expected the finance to cover more than the dozen or so there that I actually had to choose from, most of which were small cars not suitable for a family. Luckily there was a car there that I liked and wanted within my budget. Applied for the finance online, got back to me pretty quickly. Had a bit longer than an hours wait but that's due to poor credit rating so that can be forgiven. However, once the finance was done I was told that I would be told everything down at the centre, I had to ask all the questions as it seemed like an assumption had been made that I knew everything about the finance. Additionally on top of this I was offered one figure under finance on the phone, told another which was higher when I got there to the centre and when I'd made my choice it was actually lower than the both, which was also lower than the car I'd picked. Thankfully the centre discounted it for me, without even asking which was great of them. A few other reviews mention that there are quite a few people at the entrance to meet you which can be intimidating, my fianceé didn't like this at all, however they were very helpful and I personally didn't mind it but friends agreed this is an awkward experience. Additionally I felt like I was waiting a bit too long to be seen after, we were there for around an hour and a half. despite having an appointment to sign a few bits of paper. I had to ask each time what I was supposed to bring with me, I'd have been annoyed had I travelled an hour to get there to be missing documents/proof. I wasn't offered a test drive either which in a big car dealers should be the standard thing to offer, not everyone is comfortable buying a car. The staff were very friendly, helpful and down to earth. I'd definitely go there again but I'd caution others to make a list of questions youd like answered as as there is a huge lack of details given unless you ask, my experience was that it was very self service. As someone with poor credit history, even up until the end I was really unsure if it was a definate thing especially with the varied credit offered with no reason as to why it was changed several times. read more

Avoid like the plague! I would give 0 stars if I could! Bought a Peugeot 307 on finance and within 2 weeks the problems started. The car would cut out suddenly when driving, it happened on a roundabout which was very dangerous. I called TCW and under the 28 day guarantee the car was taken in and they diagnosed a problem with the fuel filter and changed this. A few weeks later - out of the guarantee period, the same problems occurred. The rude woman at TCW said unless I had third party proof it was the same fault they wouldn't discuss anything. I would have to pay for this diagnostic myself and when asking if I would have the money back if it was determined it was the same fault she wouldn't answer. I was told I was just assuming it's the same thing but as THE EXACT SAME FAULT WAS HAPPENING it would be a coincidence if it wasn't! Insulting my intelligence was not appreciated,. I took the car to my local garage who advised that as this is an intermittent fault there would be no guarantee it would show up, they then ran a general diagnostic and had a fair idea what the issue was - a major one for which the car would need to go to a Peugeot dealership. They also advised that codes don't always get stored. I spoke to TCW again who said I would have to take it to Peugeot and pay for another diagnostic! They also very threateningly told me they are a multi million pound business and why wouldn't they have fixed it. I said why should I take your word for it that that was the only fault you found with the car when I brought it in which didn't go down well. They said an error code would definitely store and unless I had this proof that the fault was there at the time of purchase they wouldn't discuss. I then spoke to the Peugeot dealership who said they same as my local garage, that because it was intermittent and the EML was not on they couldn't guarantee they would be able to give me definite proof of the fault and when it started, That's two independent parties saying the same thing. I therefore decided not to take it into Peugeot and spoke to Citizens Advice, The car is not fit for purpose however as it is on finance it is the finance company I need to recover the costs of fixing the car from. I am therefore doing so but I am extremely angry that it is not TCW and who are once again getting away with this. NEVER buy a car from here and if I were a finance company there is no way in hell I would operate through this garage. read more

We bought 2 cars from trade centre merthyr on the same day a Peugeot 307 and a pug 206 cc little convertible. We never received the 307 after weeks of saying there was a fault with the car they wrote it off saying it would cost to much to repair. The 206 cc had a faulty passenger seat that shot back and forward on the rails while driving the roof would not open and if it did open you couldnt get it closed again then it rained and water and water streamed in through the roof seals. We were told the car had been repaired and it was dropped back to us and then came the rain and still leaking back it went. it has just been brought back so time will tell. Not finished yet tho. We were told to have a look around for a car to replace the 307 and found a scenic and were told we could collect it the next day with a nice new mot. WRONG the car failed on the dash clocks that needed to be repaired. About 9 days later we had a call your cars ready. AGAIN WRONG we went down and collected the car and drove about two miles before a message appeared on the dash injectoin fault this flashed up about 9 times on the way home. I immidiatly called trade centre and told them the issue to which i got the abrubpt reply bring it back im sick of this. The issue has still not been rectified a 10 days after buying it. i went to the garage they use to have the issue checked and they told me the fuel pump had been changed also the injectors had been changed. the only thing it could be was a fuel pressure valve. But dont panic the car will be running by the end of the day we can take any parts we need of that car(another trade centre car they were tearing apart bit by bit to try to repair mine). So three cars in six weeks and i still dont have one that works properly. Forgot to mention their wonderful curtousy car a four seater car for a five person family. I was told sorry thats all we have. Which i told them where to shove and drove my clapped out scenic home. Well in short you would need your head read to by a car from there. take heed you have been warned. read more

After hearing endless adverts for tcw on the radio in work i decided to check them out last week whilst looking for a new car for myself. no cars listed on their website so i gave them a call and told them the sort of thing i was after and my price range. was told they had lots of cars in stock meeting my requirements and that my best bet was to go and take a look. After driving the 30 mins it took us to get there, we walked in and immeadiately had a salesmen following closely behind. within minutes we spotted that the cars were all extremely over priced, most by at least 1k and all had fairly high miles. I've been looking for a new car for a good month so have got to know what prices you expect to pay for what. I made this clear to the salesmen and made it clear there was no car there for me. Then a 2nd saleman appeared and continued with the pointless task of trying to find a car for me, he even took us out the back to show us cars that had just come in, including an 03 plate focus with well over 100k miles on the clock for £3k?!! he then started to offer finance options, would i be interested in finance, it didn't matter what my credit history was like etc etc, then it dawned on me, this place offers finance to those desperate enough and in need of a vehicle so badly, the finance is their only option, so tcw then whacks up the price of the cars to take advantage of these people and their difficult situation (to be honest the alarm bells should have started to ring when we had to drive through the gurneos estate to get there as it's situated right at the top of it!) I would not recommend tcw to anyone, their corruption in their morality is sickening and the cars are shoddy, overpriced and well over average on the miles. They get you there on false pretences hoping to sell you finance on a clapped out car that's definitely been through the mill! AVOID read more

After hearing about TCW on the radio we decided to take the 1 hour trip to Wales to see what they offer. Before going we already had an approval from CanCan finance so knew how much we could we afford and arranged a time, even to go in. On entering the showroom we were greated by a bunch of sales people waiting to pounce, once they knew we had an appointment the were soon to point to the right person and introduce us to our sales person. He was great (Josh), very helpful, seemed to know his stuff and was quick to try and get to understand our needs. Ok, he tried to point us at all the cars at the highest end of the budget, but once we made it clear we wanted to pay less he backed down and helped us find the right car. We were lead to a sales office to complete the sale with a very friendly guy called Graham who completed the sale and talked us through the extras such as RAC warranty. This was not a pressure sale but clear they expected you to take it. After waiting around for 45mins or so we were introduced to the finance lady (Amy). She took us through the finance contracts. She then dropped a bombshell... "you do know you're not taking the car today?" UMM, NO! We had already sent our lift home thinking we'd be driving. We were told on several occasions we could take it the same day. She offered a fuel voucher of £20.00 to cover train costs home and back (would have cost £104!). After a talk with the manager we got a courtesy car which was effortless and well managed. When we returned the next day to collect the car, all the staff knew our circumstances and ensured we drove away the new car within 1hr. Although the process from start to finish took longer than first expected, overall it was a pleasure dealing with them. EML-416110 read more

I have to say,I was very weary when going through CanCan Car Finance until I was told that I had a finance agreement approved via a High Street bank. That was great. They then advised me that I could go to The Trade Centre Wales, in which I was provided with an appointment. This was Friday and my appointment was made for Sunday. I have had experiences of Trade Centers in England and they have never been pleasant. So in I walk for my appointment and I was about half hour early. I was instantly greeted by a sales man who was friendly and great at listening about my car needs. I was to be fair quite clear myself about what I wanted and the sales man was instantly aware of my needs. I was then taken through the indoor centre and advised of all the cars available. I was left alone to wander and choose my car. The sales man popped out a few times to see if we were ok and also to answer questions about cars I liked. Then he was off again to leave us to browse. I then found the car I wanted, the sales man gave me all the information I wanted about the car. From this point it was seamless. As I had already had my finance approved I was swiftly taken through various steps with various people of whom were all very friendly and professional. The process from saying yes to collection (same day) was brilliant. The guys couldn't have been anymore honest ad helpful. The car is great and I'm really happy with the whole experience. I would highly recommend this Trade Centre to anyone. In addition I did a PX and got a great price on my old car. Overall I'm a very happy customer! read more

At first everything was fine, customer service was great, we chose a car but it had a few bad scratches and a rust spot on the boot lid. TCW agreed to get them fixed and so we agreed a price and we were told to pick the car up 3 days later. We got to TCW to pick the car up and we were taken into an office to fill in forms but i refused untill i had seen that the work agreed to had been carried out. We were then taken outside to inspect the car only to be greeted with what i thought was a practical joke. It looked as if the paint shop staff had given a pot of paint and a paintbrush to a four year old and told them to go wild, and if that wasn't bad enough the colour wasn't even a match. The staff were very apolagetic but i could not believe a big company like TCW had presented a car in this state to a paying customer. They then said they would have the car repaired at an independent body shop and gave us a £100 cashback and a years free warranty which we accepted. We collected the car 3 days later, there was still some evidence of the earlier shoody effort of repair but the main points had been done and i just wanted to get away from there and wave goodbye to TCW, and just to rub salt into the wound as i turned the ignition there was a light on the dash telling me there was a bulb not working which TCW could not have been bothered to fix. As you can probably tell i will never set foot into that showroom again, and unless its a last resort i would urge you to do the same. On a plus point staff were friendly and did treat us ok. read more

myself and my wife purchased a audi a4 tdi for £10.500.00 from trade center wales and the day after purchase the service lite came on so took the car to local audi garage to see if the car had been serviced and they said that it had not been serviced because it still had the old oil and air filters on it they also found the the car had excessive back pressure from dip stick( a badly worn engine) and told us to take it back where we bought it from as the engine was completely knackered so we took the car back to t.c.w and they said they would fix it. They put on many new parts and the car was still the same. 3 attempts later and many parts later the car was still the same and said they have done all they can and cant do no more but i still had to keep the knackered car all this as been going on for four months and we have only drove it for 2 weeks in this time as the car as been being fixed in theyr garage all this time. The car is still the same as day and we have no looks on it anymore i cant belive they are aloud to do this to us and getting away with it so had informed trading standards and they are taking on our case and we will be taking them to court. i would strongly advise anyone not to use this company as they are cowboys and the care team are very rude and couldt care less about you and once they have your money you are on your own so be aware. read more

I don't know if other reviewers went to the methyr branch instead but I went to the main branch in Neath and didn't have any major issues. The cars were a little overpriced so be prepared to batter or walk away if need be but the same can be said of any second hand car dealer. I went in on a Friday, let the salesperson know my budget, looked at a couple of cars and left saying I would be back after some consideration. Went back on the Sunday, re-iterated my price point and convinced the same salesperson to lower the price on a 12 plate vw with just 12000 miles from 8000 to 6000. Looked it over very carefully and started the engine to hear it tick over. There were some nicks and drinks that I said I wanted sorted they said they would get them done but the selling price would go up to 6500, I went to walk away but then the manager agreed to have the work done and a new mot put on the car within 24 hrs. They didn't seem happy at having been driven down so much but I'm happy to have a car with low miles on the clock within my budget and in perfect condition. Not the most stress free experience possible but as long as you understand the value of the cars and you show determination to stick to a budget whilst also being serious about buying you can get a good bargain. It also helps if you're a cash customer. read more

We too have had an awful time after buying a car with Trade Centre Wales (Merthyr branch) . The first car we purchased actually broke down on the heads of the valleys road only a few miles from the garage leaving us stranded on the side of the road with no lay-by. Being six months pregnant at the time the experience was very frightening and potentially very dangerous. Despite this we still had to fight our case with the Boss in order to exchange the car. In hindsight a refund would have been our best option. We then exchanged for a Hyandai Getz which when driving away we found had two flat tyres that needed pumping (not sure what their 60 point service checks actually check!). We decided to take the car to a garage within the warranty for piece of mind and were told of the many faults that would not pass MOT (car was MOT'd until sep). Warranty company have wriggled out of paying and Trade Centre Wales are far from helpful so we are now being forced to pay out over £600 on a 3K car just so that I can feel safe driving it with baby on the way. My advice go to a smaller dealer with a conscience!! read more

I have just been reading some negative reviews on here regarding Trade Centre Wales and I can honestly say that the experience I had whilst purchasing my vehicle from the Neath site was nothing but a 5* one!. I telephoned to site first to enquire if they had the particular model of cars that I was after - which they did. Upon arrival, yes I was met by a salesman as I walked through the door and I explained that I had called earlier and also said which vehicles I was there to see. The salesman showed me the two I was interested in and left me to make the choice. At no time was there any hard sell and I was not asked to look at anything else. I made my decision within 10 minutes of being there and In total from walking in, picking the car, arranging the finance and walking away it took a total of 90 minutes. Did I take the car away straight away ? no ! . The reason for that, I left at 8pm and a new M.O.T was put on the vehicle the next morning and I picked it up later that day when it was convenient for me. Would I recommend Trade Centre Wales ? Absolutely !. Robin Leigh read more

my girlfreind bought a renault megane convertible off tcw just over 2 months ago. she said the salesman was very nice and even took her photo with the car. for the 1st week or so the car seemed quite nice but i had a problem closing the passenger door at the 1st attempt almost every time. over the next few eeeks the exhaust started to rattlethe drivers side window stuck down and she couldnt lock the carthe clutch has started to judderthe brake pads are almost to metalthe roof leaks and on 2 occassions the car has failed to turn over when pressing the start button. she paid £5995 for this car and was to be her pride and joy but she is now very wary of driving it even just to take her daughter to school. i know secondhand cars can have problems but the list of them with this car are, in my opinion, a bad show from tcw and no doubt will only get more and more. they wont even answer the phone to her and the extended warranty she took out thru them doesnt cover some of the problems she's had.convenient eh.buy with extreme caution from these people..BEWARE read more

Bought a car here and it was a smooth process, although I can see why there are a few negative reviews depending on who was dealing with you. The positives..... I had spoken to one of the salesmen (Richard) who did not initially have what we were looking for. He got back in touch with us after a few days when a car that met our requirements had arrived on the forecourt. Unlike a few of the other sales guys there, he was not too pushy and gave us space to walk around. The car was prepared for me, given a new MOT, and available the following morning. The negatives. There was a bit of hard sell going on, particularly for the upgraded warranty. Also needed to wait to collect the car which is something that I wasn't really expecting - you have go through to the 'collections dept' and review similar paperwork to the previous day (when you made the purchase with the 'financial advisor'). The car was purchased with cash, so I cannot make any comments on the finance options offered. Overall I am happy with the experience. EML-420765 read more

This review is a complement and a big thankyou to all at the part exchange outlet in Merthyr. From the moment i walked in yes a salesman approached me and when i said to him i wnated to have a look around he let me do so. When i did eventually see a car i was interested in i called a salesman who dealt with the questions very proffesionally, when i was happy with the answers we proceeded to do the paoerwork. With this i dealt with 2 other employees which also dealt with my questions whilst going through the paperwork very quickly and proffesionally. Whilst i was waiting for the paperwork to be completed i was given refreshments and the new car was being prepared for me to drive home. So far so good with the new car, i am really happy with it. I would highly reccomend The Trade Centre Part Exchange Outlet at Merthyr to freinds and family. Once again thanks to all. Identity number - EML-417257 read more

Can't fault the staff at the showroom as the gentlemen that helped us was super helpful and polite, not pushy at all - and neither was anybody else that worked there, which was refreshing. Unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars purely because we were promised no deposit and £500 cashback, which would have been really helpful at the moment as me and my partner are buying a house. The only reason we booked in for that Saturday was because we were told that it was the last day of the offer so we had better book in, so it's really disappointing that this was not honoured. Another thing, is that we were there for quite a while waiting, were not offered a test drive and had no idea that we had to buy insurance on the spot to drive away. That said, staff and showroom were great - if you're worried about feeling pressured, don't worry at all with this showroom and there's a great choice. read more

I would like to say I had a very pleasant experience purchasing my new car. My daughter and myself were met by a very helpfull gentleman named Chris who took us out to see some cars that we had told him we were interested in. He told us to spend as much time as we needed and if there was anything we wanted to look inside at he would get us the keys. He came and found us and we showed him what we liked. He gave us as much information as he could and we were not under no pressure by him. We went back inside and we went over the finance figures and agreed on the car. He was very effiecent and polite and he asked when we wanted the car and we were told we could have it that day. We also dealt with a Paul, and Brett and another gentelman who im not sure of his name. I must say that I was very impressed with the way we were treated. Thank you all read more

I would just like to say a big thank you to "can can car finance "and trade centre Wales for the purchase of my new car, from the initial telephone call with CAN CAN, and me driving away my new car was 3 days in total, the initial phone call and call back was extremely efficient and professional and friendly, and even though I went to the showroom a day early to view the car's, and all in a matter of 4 hours I had chosen a car and was driving it home, the staff in trade centre Wales were fantastic, friendly and professional in every department, from sales to collections, so I can't praise the staff enough, so I'll be passing ur name and great work to everyone I hear that is looking for a new car, so well done to CAN CAN and TRADE CENTRE WALES and thank you. read more

This is our second car purchased from Trade Centre Wales and have no complaints about the Service received...Yes upon entering the building we were approached by a salesman but hey that s their job...We were left alone to view their vehicles without being harrassed (which makes a change from other garages we went to). Once we decided which cars we liked (trust me I chose 4 ) the salesman was brilliant ..He must have had the patience of a saint because I was findind it difficult to make up my mind ....I was back and fore to each car about 4 times...The service was great and we purchased our second car and drove home in it within the hour...thank you Trade Centre Wales despite some negative reviews our experience of this company was GREAT !!!!! read more
