Jeremy, the proprietor was very nice and full of a vast array of knowledge of the period and pieces in the store. The history behind some of the pieces in his shop was amazing! He wrapped up the vase nicely and it safely made the journey back to California with me without any issues. I highly recommend stopping in this great small business in Amherst. Needed a desk for my office and in my mind I knew what I wanted but really didn't. Friend recommended this place so while on vacation I popped in for a look. The store associates were very helpful in directing me to what I ultimately purchased which was one of those stand up / sit down desks. Ken was my helper and I am sure he too would say I was very easy to work with. My only criticism comes on the delivery side of the business. I'm not fitting this large desk in my car so I chose to pay the $50 to have it delivered. The delivery took place a few days later and unfortunately it was the day where we had this lovely early spring blessing of snow. I would have liked to have seen the desk wrapped in a blanket for protection from not only the weather but the hand truck and large rocks on my walk path as well. Desk was placed down in the wet, snow covered grass to be plugged in to lower the table size as it was extended when brought over. I was aware enough once brought into the house to clean the bottoms off before placed on the hardwood floors. The two gentlemen were not the brightest bulbs in the box but I did thank them for the delivery and gave them some water. Overall happy with my purchase and long overdue. I would recommend coming here before going to your big box stores like a staples.

The area offers up quite a few charity shops, maybe because of the College town? Completely love knocking around and looking for new treasures. I wish today I had noticed the young guy on the register, he was super friendly and we chatted about books and history as he rang us out. I do wish the bathrooms consistently had toilet paper so I didn't have to track down a worker. So if you go in to shop, make sure you look at the dispenser first. Quite a few NWT items I bought today and a few very well used decorations for my daughters new home.

The only clue that it was pre-owned (used? refurbished?) before then was some small print that sort of says that outlet = pre-owned, but didn't even explicitly stay that. They used a minus sign "-" instead of an equal sign. The good news is this is Massachusetts and these sorts of practices are illegal and you can get reimbursed up to 3 times the material loss. It all ended well, when I reached out to Mattress Firm and asked if they were going to fix it or if I had to go the Attorney General, they were super responsive and I had a replacement actual "new" mattress for the originally quoted price within 2 days. So, I guess the moral is it's possible to get a good deal, but beware their sales staff!
