They don't have changing rooms but it is basically a maze in there and you can hide somewhere behind the boxes to get changed. There is a good price range for the different themes and I am sure everyone can find something suitable in there. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Even just walking past the shop and looking in the window on my way to work in the morning is fun - this must be the largest collection of utterly unwearable shoes in London. It gets even more fun when the awnings are down and the space below filled with rows and rows of weird and wonderful stuff. At long last, I had a reason to enter the secret den. I was in no doubt that this is where we would find our outfits for a fancy dress party. And so we did. But we also found a lot more. It is a real experience to meet Dereck who generously shares his view of the world and his experiences - at 82 he has quite a few stories to tell. It is he who is responsible for the old time jazz filling the street on a sunny afternoon, his record player positioned between the clothes rails on the pavement. His daughter Esther knows her stuff and soon found us just what we needed. Crazy Clothes aren't cheap-cheap, but all their stuff is of great quality and doesn't have the musty smell you encounter in many second hand stores. But it's the people who make this a real experience - don't go if you're in a hurry as you'll be missing out.

I was amazed that so many party accessories existed and could fit into such tiny space, balloons of all colours, types (long, metallic, glitter, decorated, simple, helium inflated), plates, cups, plastic cutlery, (Cinderella, Dora the Explorer, Barney, Spongebob Squarepants, Superheroes and more), matching party favor bags, banners, make-up, wigs and I could keep going on and on and on.... I won't Anything you might ever need for a party and even things you might not can be found in this shop. Furthermore, they have a wholesale store in Acton which I can only imagine must look like a psychedelic dream. I had a lovely afternoon after my long flight from Chicago, sitting with Vera and Faye, drinking coffee, munching cookies, and painting my bowl. The shop itself is adorable, with a nice cafe up front, gifts to buy, and an open airy studio in back. Faye and Vera are wonderful people and really made me feel welcome and well cared for. They were attentive to all of their costumers and the work space had a friendly, welcoming vibe. I painted a nice bowl, which was a perfect keepsake for my trip to London. Whether you are an out-of-towner like me, or live in the neighborhood, I recommend stopping by and even bringing the kids. Its a nice way to pass an afternoon.
