I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tri Tipery!! I ordered the French dip and boy did I dip that sandwich to death!!! The au jus was so yummy and I got the shoe string fries with the meal. They were so crispy and a great addition to any sandwich or burger. There are about four dips, not including ketchup, that you could dip your sandwich on or pour over your fries. I loved the "monkey" flavored bbq sauce the best! On to the hubby's meal: he ordered the half and half. Half pork belly and half tri tip on a fresh bun with cole slaw on top of you want it. I tried that tri tip and it melted in my mouth. It was gone in a few bites! Out of the way little place but what a nice establishment. Very friendly cashier and lovely seating. We went today 5/16/2020. None of their employees were wearing masks . My husband ordered our food. We live in Merced so it was a drive for us. Maybe it was our fault that we didn't check when we received our order. When we got home we received someone else order. We were so disappointed . I called the restaurant to inform them what happened. The manger said I can come back to pick up my right order. But it was late in the day. So my advice is to check your order before you leave. What we did get we both did not like. It was a disappointing meal. I don't know if I'll try them again. ANOTHER UPDATE. 6/11/2020 I was contacted by owner I am guessing because of my last statement. At first I thought they were going to make it right with me. BUT When they said "they couldn't find a customer tag with my name on it " I corrected them and said my husband was the one who made that order. THEN I was questioned about date and time. I responded back to them giving them the answer. ONE THE THIRD QUESTIONING me of my husband last 3 digits of the card he used. I BLEW UP ! We enjoyed a late dinner (8 pm) out in the grassy picnic table area. I got the pork special. I just loved the crispy onion rings the pork was moist and I enjoyed the burst of flavor from the coleslaw. My date had the tri tip french dip and said it was the best ever. They were a little slow with figuring out that they didn't have an item but it was minor. They have a great outdoor area to play and hangout. This place is really easy to miss even if you're looking for it. It's tucked away on Newport Rd. in Ballico just off Santa Fe Dr. The place kind of has a log cabin feel to it. (Not a bad thing) After getting out of you vehicle you notice a wonderful BBQ smell coming from the general direction of the building. Seating is either outside or in an outdoor covered patio area (equipped with heaters, and celling fans) We chose to sit in the patio area. I had basic tri-tip sandwich and fries. The order was ready relatively quickly, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was very good, hot and flavorful. The fries were a little on the thin side (I prefer thicker fries) but they were good. Additionally I couldn't resist the temptation of dessert. I tried the deep fried Oreos, they were exceptionally good. The staff I encountered were all pleasant and efficient. The flavor of the burger was so weird.... the meat did not taste fresh at all. Their fries were thin and barely there. The Wagon Wheel was blah and the BBQ sauce it came with was so so sweet. After checking out yelp reviews and pictures for some time I finally stopped and tried this place out. The pictures alone would make any foodie want to give The Tri-Tipery a good go. I happened to be in the area on a Saturday evening. I stopped in about 6pm. My first impression was, "What is this tropical oasis of tri tip goodness doing in this backstreet warehouse parking lot?" If you have ever been that would make total sense. It's located in a warehouse parking lot on a little side street just off of Santa Fe in Ballico. That said, I must add the restaurant is very tidy and well kept, not at all what you would expect given its interesting location. The Tri Tipery is nestled inside a very welcoming fence and has an outdoor dining area that has been thoughtfully decorated with turf, well kept benches, and even a game of Cornhole. It has a very clean and confusing feel to it. They have a rather diverse menu of tri tip options posted on signs hung on the front of the almost drive-in type eatery. I placed my order at the walk up window, took a seat at one of the benches, and waited for my name to be called. I fully expected it to take a while. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the loaded nachos. I did not regret my decision at all. The nachos were very tasty and proportionate. They had all that you would expect on nachos with the addition of a healthy serving of decent sized pieces of tri tip. The price was fair too. I would recommend them. They have a number of other incredible sounding items on the menu so I will be back again to try those out as well. My camera has been acting up or there would be pictures. This place and the food is very picture worthy. My only regret is that it's so remote and far from my house, in an area I rarely make it too. I did find out later that The Tri-Tipery @120 is owned and operated by the same family. It's quite a bit closer to me and not so remote. I plan to check out that location and hope it's every bit as good. If so I may become a regular and add it to my highly esteemed list of "Must Try" places to eat. I love the casual vibe and comfort food offered. Pros: barbeque sauces are tasty (my fave is the monkey one) Fries are crispy, skinny perfection. Every fifth fry has a tangy blast (splash of lime maybe?) Fruit comes with sandwiches. First time I got a pear, second time I got a plum! Bread pudding is divine!! Cons: Would be nice to have a little more warmth in the winter. I don't mind sitting in the enclosed area outside, but the heat lamps don't quite do the job. That said, I will happily bundle up in a puffy coat to eat those fries! Closes early, especially on weekends (I'm a bit of a drive away) Points of preference: I'm not a fan of the mac n cheese. I like a really cheesy mac n cheese and this one wasn't that. The tri-tip isn't to my liking. I like mine a little rarer and slightly more flavorful (without having to add a bunch of bbq sauce). Cool place to hang out! Finally got to stop in here- my husband drives by it for work everyday in the morning. We were not disappointed!
