These guys were so helpful when we were moving. We needed boxes and I wasn't sure which ones would be best and they very patiently guided me through a bunch of options. Shipped a package there for pickup and they were closed when the receiver got there at 4PM on a Wednesday. I wouldn't trust their hours as accurate at all. When you post 9AM-8PM you stay open or you update all the packages in house that there was an exception on the package to notify the receivers. Waste of my time and money! read more

Had to ship a bunch of boxes to the west coast, and was helped by the owner (new, I think), who was very friendly/attentive/thorough (i.e., reinforced my taping job where needed and made sure that old bar codes/markings on my motley assortment of boxes that might confuse shipment were obliterated with Sharpie). ** Big plus w/UPS in general is that you CAN use re-purposed boxes with lettering showing -- US Postal doesn't allow it, unless all words are covered over -- big pain. Receipts/tracking info very detailed/accurate, and all boxes arrived on projected delivery date one week later. read more

I've stopped by here to buy boxes and very, very occasionally to ship something. I have never experienced any rudeness but it's pretty obvious that this isn't exactly any of the employees' dream jobs.The prices on the other hand are ridiculous. I called UPS and they told me that UPS store are supposed to have prices on shipping on par with that of a UPS station. Not so here. Every once in a while I'll need a box that I've run out of and have to go to this store to get one. What I normally pay maybe a dollar for from my usual supplier I pay $6 from this place. Ouch. Unless whatever you need to ship/buy is urgent or you are made of money avoid this place. read more

I had a 50lb box to ship express. I was shocked by the $246 price quoted at the local shipping place and they wouldn't accept a 3rd party's UPS shipping number so I hauled it over to the UPS store. Lo and behold not only wont the UPS store allow for third party billing, the box cost $272 to ship from their store. UPS store is more expensive than my local mailbox place. At the 11th hour, my husband and I needed something notarized, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They whisked us into the shop right as it closed and were very swift about delivering the service and seeing if there was anything else we needed. This is our local UPS store, one we use fairly regularly. There are usually a couple of employees there. One is great and the other one is useless, lazy and very unpleasant (the gentlemen with the long greasy hair). When its the other guy, service is excellent! So avoid surly mean one.... read more

This place is horrible. They want money for everything. I mean everything from using their tapes, UPS shipping supplies such as plastic pouches that are provided for free by UPS. This place is awful. I have a UPS account number and they would not let me use it here at "The UPS Store" for fear of "fraud." i asked them what I was supposed to do with the two heavy boxes I'd brought over in the rain and they told me to go to the UPS "business hub" in Maspeth, Queens! I left and walked around the corner to Office 11211, which has a UPS dropbox and is stocked with all relevant forms, etc, and shipped with no problem. The employees at The UPS Store are totally unknowledgeable, but I felt bad for them. They're very young and obviously following the marching orders of someone who's running a terrible business. Beyond that, this lousy service indicates that UPS's franchising guidelines are so poor that you can't trust that you'll be able to get your work done at one of their branded locations. read more

If one could award zero stars, i would! this place is useless. Whether there are 5 people in the store, or 1, they are equally slow as molasses. The question is not are they qualified to work there, but are they qualified to work any where?! You would think UPS would have some quality control. Do not use this store. There was a 60% upcharge to send my package. That may not make a big difference if you are sending a $10 package, but I was sending a large package that cost me $50 when I priced it online. When I went to the store they were going to charge me $80. The manager's explanation was that they are unrelated to the UPS website even though their name is "The UPS Store." Bizarre and sketchy. Do yourself a favor and print out a shipping label online and schedule a pick up or drop it off at a location. read more

It would take a LOT for anyone to wish that some place was a FedEx Office right? Well, this Wburg UPS is THAT bad. The store does *not* have publicly accessible computers from which you can print (like every FedEx Office does). Instead, they charge an insane amount of money ($2 per page) for you to jump through the hoop of emailing them and having them print your document. Save yourself money and hassle and stick with FedEx or any other print shop that is logical in process and pricing. read more

Such a shame. I had thought that this was to be a good service and so close to my office. But if you can't depend on them getting it right - then what good is it? After all the shipping business is as much about trust as anything. The actual cost of the shipping is rarely more than a tiny fraction of the value of being able to depend on them getting the item there safely and on time. That;s what you trust them to do. Except that they got it wrong and the package came back to me. The details don't matter here, but the response I got when I went back to the store is what is important. Unconcerned, unhelpful, unwilling to fix the problem, unwilling to take responsibility. I had to point out that the name UPS Store on the guy's shirt matched the words on the receipt - so as the representative of the store he should take some responsibility. Nothing at all. No help. No sympathy. Barely any there there. On my exasperated way out I heard a faint "sorry about that" I turned and said thank you. The two fellows in there looked back at me blankly. I went to another service to get my package delivered - now a day or more late. Letters describing the case have been despatched to the President of UPS Store and to the CEO of UPS. I've been here once, to make a lot of color copies, not do any shipping. Robert and Danny were working. Here's the deal: They're smart, know their job, and can be a huge help. But because they're smart and interesting people (no, I didn't know them before, only listened to them talk while I did my work), you can't treat them like tools or robots or happy, smiley, soul-less helpers, or worse, you can't just not see them at all. Say hello, mean it. Be nice. No you don't need to be their bestie or join in on their banter. But if they know you know they're at work and sometimes work sucks, they'll be on your side. If you happen to be a customer who is too busy to be human or dabble in equality, definitely find a happy human robot place out there somewhere else. read more

Upon coming to this UPS store I was quite hesitant due to all the negative reviews. However, once I got there I was glad to find out it was the best customer service I've received in awhile (by the manager, Vishal). I needed to have a large item insured, packed, and ship across the country. Vishal even let me watch him pack the item to make sure it was packed well! Walked in to return an article of clothing to Amazon. I asked if I can print the label by just logging into my account on their computer, they said sure. Really nice guys. After logging into my account, right before I was about to press PRINT the same guy came over and said we charge $5 for you to print the label. Shocked and in disbelief I repeated what he said because it sounded totally preposterous - you mean if I click print you are going to charge me $5? He said yes that's what we have been charging. I looked at him totally annoyed and said I am not paying $5, I thought wow way to take advantage and not build long term customer relationships. Furthermore you should have mentioned that when you said sure I can print it. I don't doubt these guys are nice but say what you charge, albeit ridiculous before you waste my time. I live in the neighborhood and will never go here again. I will go to the UPS store on the south side. read more

Best shipping spot by far. I went in to ship sensitive info to another state and they helped me out immediately! They didn't do the usual "fill this out, come back when you're done" thing. The attendant asked me for the address, gave me options as far as shipping goes and was extremely courteous. Parking isn't the best during the mornings so it was helpful to have someone who understood my rush. Extremely cool people working their as well. read more

the box i was shipping we measured and weighed in advance and we got a fee quote from the UPS website, at this location I was charged almost DOUBLE the quote that we got online. the box was big and the fellow who helped me get it there had jumped on the subway so i was stuck. AND there was a "large pkg fee" of $55 which we never had to pay before when shipping literally the same box to the same place last year. read more

I've been to this particular location twice and both times I received great service. Not only did they provide me with the services I expected, they went above and beyond. I needed to print off a resume from an email and the guy working let me use their computer to download the document and then he helped me edit it when the margins and fonts were all off. Both times I've been there the people working were friendly and helpful but not exaggerated in their attempts to make me feel welcome. They suggested paper, folders, and took the time to print off different options without me even asking. I'll definitely be using this location again. read more
