Don't come here for fingerprints. I spent 55 dollars on fingerprint and shipping together. My fingerprints were not accepted. Therefore I called the store beforehand to see if I can redo them. They said to come in with the proof of the fingerprints not being accepted. I even read the whole email to make sure. Also sent it to their store via email. I explained that it was the FBI ink fingerprints, not the live scan and they were not being taken due to unclassification. I went and spoke with the manager, and I was trying to understand why they could not redo them, I asked for a policy and she said there is no written policy that she makes the policy. She also said my fingerprints are just harder to read. (If this is the case then why were they rejected) She proceeds to say that I am blaming her employees and said that I had an attitude. While she kept rolling her eyes and yelling at me in front of everybody in the store. I simply just wanted to see the policies in regard to fingerprinting if they are refundable. I checked online and it said for life scanned and ink fingerprinting that it can be redone. She proceeds to tell me that it's only for live scan. She also told me that I needed two cards when doing the ink fingerprints. I told her that I did not receive two cards when I paid for it and she said well, you didn't ask for it. How am I supposed to know that I need to cards if they are providing the service shouldn't they be telling me when I paid for it? I just wanted to understand the policies of the store. From my understanding she was the one that made all the policies because she was the owner. I get that so I walked away ( knowing I wasn't going to get anywhere with this conversation) and have to redo them again somewhere else. So if you are going to come here, make sure you ask for two cards and if they are not accepted, be prepared to pay again. And for the employee who did my fingerprints I do not blame her. She was just doing her job and for the person that I spoke on the phone with I also don't blame him because he was also doing his job. I went there today to return amazon packages. There was one person in the store being served by Randy. The other employee (Cody) was taking a personal call and saw me and talked another 10 minutes before asking me what I needed. I said I am returning Amazon packages and he said you have to wait in line for Randy who was helping another customer. Cody did nothing for the next 5 minutes. I finally got to Randy who was nice but likely a new employee as he was pretty slow, but nice. The return receipts wouldn't print so he asked Cody and Cody said sorry I can't help. If this was my store, Cody would be walked out and fired today. Not only did he have zero interest in helping me, but the same for his co-worker. I have never experienced this in a UPS store and won't be back and encourage others to use another store. read more

UPDATE, FOR OWNER AND PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS: I didn't respond to the owners attempt to connect in my previous review because quite frankly it was a pretty detailed and what could be done after the visit. I entrusted that this wouldn't happen again and since it's my closest mail/ package and print shop I tried for another service yesterday. I called to inquire about the guides, limit constraints and pricing for printing in color a work portfolio. Simple print, no frills, just 8.5x11 on regular copy paper. I was told emailing the info to the store would be best and quickest return, and I asked.... how long typically do you need for the turnaround on 44 pages? He said "depends how busy we are, it could take 15 mins or it could take 2 hours". So, that didnt help me plan for a prompt execution. I decided to email it anyway, so at 10:13am I sent the files and requested a 12:30pm pick up. I never received a reply so I didnt pick them up at 12:30 but went after work and they were closed. This morning I sent a follow up requesting a reply, and its now been about 3 hours and still no reply. I would just not go here. I won't be trying any further. read more

I went to the store at 7:30 AM. Very pleasant obviously competent and honest gentleman patiently explained options for sending my package. Waited while I returned to my car to confer with my husband. I would give zero stars for this UPS Store, but I can't. DAY1: walked in at 5:35p needed fingerprints (live scan). They said they stop doing them at 5:30p. DAY2: came in at 5:25p. Assistant Mgr said "when we say we stop doing fingerprints at 5:30p, we actually want you to be here earlier". DAY3 : called the store-owner told her what was said to me and she stood by her guy. I demanded the owner do my fingerprints for free next time. She said I was trying to rip her off ANALYSIS: Everybody's time is valuable. I get off of work at 5p. When an employee tells me to be there before 5:30p. They close at 6pm..I GET IT.. they wanna go home on time. I followed their instructions only to be told that THEY IMPLIED DIFFERENT TIME. I don't have time to decipher code. They represent a business. They wasted my time on 3 occasions and refused to COMPENSATE ME for their poor behavior and business practices. This location is owned by an extremely rude woman. She is all about adding charges. We went in yesterday (January 11, 2021) to ship 2 packages. Rather than advise us to purchase the boxes and pack them ourselves, she charged an exorbitant fee to pack 2 boxes. When we were presented with the bill, and were aghast at the amount, she then proceeded to slam - yes slam! a laptop computer that was being returned on the floor of the store. She then became verbally abusive. Not only am I giving her the worst review I can on Yelp, I will be reaching out to UPS corporate to complain. I am outraged by how I was treated by the store owner Kiran about my missing package. She screamed aggressively and talked over me making it difficult to express my concerns of the package I was expecting over two weeks ago. Right at the get go she had a defensive attitude even before I was able to completely describe my situation. She clearly stated that it was my initial responsibility to inquire about the package, even though the package was sitting in her store without my knowledge. I was verbally attacked at The UPS Store in Carlsbad; verbally assaulted during a routine return of Amazon Packages on 9.15.2022. The owner started yelling and cursing at me, and calling me names because I asked why they were helping the customers in line behind me, when I was waiting and next in line for the same service. This was no reason to start attacking me as it was an honest and simple question, given the customers behind me also had Amazon returns. The owner was irrational, screamed and cursed at me. I'm sharing this review to warn customers to avoid this business as they have no respect for customers, and despite sharing I just had surgery and family was helping me out to return boxes, she used the "F" word at me and threatened to not accept my return, even though my boxes were already placed on counter and being scanned by her husband. There was no reason for her vicious behavior. I will never return to this location and will certainly alert my neighbors. I've been a customer for years. She does not deserve my business or to operate a business, when she can't treat customers with dignity and respect. Shame on her poor, unprofessional character and lack of business ethics! I maintained calm and never used profanity back at her but it was so upsetting that I told her I should call the police, or record this as she continued to use fowl language at me. UPS stores and their Amazon return partnership have always been flawless. But I must say the store manager at this location is awful. I brought to them a 3 item return from Amazon. The return instructions say "Show the return code below on your mobile device to an associate at THE UPS STORE, who will scan the QR code, pack, and ship your return for FREE." But according to this UPS store manger this is not true. She tells me that I have to provide individual packaging for my 3 items and pay for it. Uh, that's not what Amazon says. Bad experience. This place is clean, convenient, and they get the job done. The reason for only 2 stars is their incredible lack of over all customer service and ability to make you feel good about spending money with them. I came in today to shred a box of papers, a service I just discovered and was stoked to learn about. I had called yesterday to inquire about it and the gentleman on the phone was helpful enough and explained the pricing and answered my questions. When I came in today, there were three employees working that I could see. One on her cell phone texting, one behind the counter and another doing work around the corner. The guy at the counter barely spoke and was not friendly. As I approached with my box he says "You can bring that here", "is this it?" "Now you can go over there" I looked at the grey containers he pointed towards and told him I had never done it before, to which he said "it's self serve". He proceeded to watch me fumble with the lid from behind the counter and as I struggled he said "it's locked for a reason. Use the slot" It cost nothing to be kind and helpful, and it also doesn't require much energy. I prefer to spend my time and money in places where I feel welcome and appreciated and where the staff are kind and helpful. If these things don't matter to you, this place is sufficient. For me, there are just too many other place I can go to get these services and I will find one that is more friendly. read more

None of the three employees working were interested in helping people. They all looked away from me, hoping their coworker would take the customer. The guy who apparently drew the short straw took his time and not not appear competent. He refused to scan my Amazon code till he was good and ready. (He apparently missed the second code and there's no record it was shipped.) Then he was clearly inconvenienced by my request for a receipt. Fast-forward a week, and the package is still not showing up on UPS tracking. I call the UPS store and the disinterested female tells me to "call Amazon" to deal with it. She kept interrupting me and had no interest in listening. She said, "Call Amazon," four or five times and then hung up. I've returned dozens of items to Kohl's with not one issue. I have only good things to say about my experience using the UPS Store. We had the store owner pack 11 boxes of our personal household goods and ship them across country to our home in Michigan. Shipment was planned to arrive when we had returned home so that we were able to move them all inside our house just after they arrived. There was no damage at all to any of our goods, even though some things were fragile. We are very satisfied with the service at this store. It was an expensive transaction, but worth it; and our interactions with the owner were courteous and professional. I highly recommend this store. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. It's funny that this UPS Store sent me a request to review them. This is definitely the worst UPS Store or actually worst business in any category that I have experienced in San Diego. The other UPS Store on Avenida Encinas is wonderful, so go there if you need UPS services. My experience began with me walking in 30 minutes before closing and the employees were visibly pissed. They told me they would not be able to send my package out that day and they would not even get to the packaging until the next day, which I was ok with. Then, the employee gave me an estimate of about $50 to pack my item and $50 to send it. At that point I just said forget it and went to the other UPS Store on Avenida Encinas where the guy took my item, put it in a box, taped it, printed a shipping label and sent it within about 1 minute. I paid my TEN DOLLARS, which was $90 less than this UPS Store. UPS as a company should close this El Camino Real UPS Store and ask the guys at Avenida Encinas if they would be willing to take over. read more
