I am SO sad to leave a 1 star review- I was hoping to be that one person who showed up, had excellent service and was able to write about it. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Online this location shows open 7 days a week. The door says open 7 days a week. Sunday during listed business hours it was closed. Whomp whomp whomp. Normally ok but we came out just for this pick up. My husband had to return Monday before we left town to grab our order. He was surprised then that they charge $5.00 per package- this should definitely be stated somewhere so customers can decide if they want to use this location, or consolidate orders. I went to the UPS store a few months ago with items that I needed to return. There were many different mosaic stones, etc that was confusing to me. Not to the efficient gal behind the counter! She worked, scanned, boxed up items all with a smile on her face. Then my daughter went in a few weeks ago. Several returns and a wonderful, helpful employee. Now I go in today and same thing. Do NOT go here. Was there for five mins and the guy was rude to not only me but the two ppl in front of me. When it came to helping me, I needed one small piece of tape (maybe 2") and he wanted to charge me $2 for his "time and tape" and continued to interrupt me as I tried asking him to help me out, arguing how valuable his time was and challenging me on whether or not I would help someone without charging them. I'm a small business owner and have given my services away for free more times than I can count so he felt kinda dumb when I told him that. Then I mentioned I have had much better service and met very helpful people at other ups stores both him and the lady said "Well go to those stores then!" Absolutely absurd response. Typically I do not post negative comments especially about a local business. However, I am livid at The local UPS Store located here in East Ellijay. Someone very close to me went in there to have several things handled. One of the ladies, not sure her name but will find out, was insulting, rude, and truly needs to be fired. I managed that same store for 5 years back in the day and I would have never allowed that kind of behavior in my store. When employees couldn't get fingerprints and began to get frustrated, they got me. I guarantee everyone left my presence with a smile. I went to the UPS store in Ellijay, GA. I was treated so kindly by a young girl named Tiffany. The service was superb! She was so helpful, respectful and efficient. I was expecting issues since I was returning a vacuum to mfg for repair, but no problems. If I owned a business I would try and steal her! Tiffani, Assistant Manager, went above and beyond to assist me with an issue. I shipped an overnight package with the wrong address on the label. I called UPS (HQ) 4 times and no one could help or change the address. Tiffani spent over an hour making phone calls and trying to resolve the issue on the UPS Portal. She was able to stop the delivery (to the wrong address) and have UPS hold the package at a customer service site. She and all the other employees at this UPS store are amazing! read more

On Feb. 8th I visited the Ellijay UPS store at 7:30 am to send a box to my son for his anniversary. Hope waited on me and asked about contents of box. I told her a cutting board, anniversary card and money (which I never should have said) were in it and the normal 100.00 insurance coverage was fine. When my son opened the box, which was in terrible shape, he found the anniversary card with $50.00 cash had been stolen and in it's place were 2 small bottles of hand sanitizer with the UPS logo on them, a baggie containing an orange spool of cord and an empty box from a Lexmark ink cartridge!! Unbelievable!! He sent me photos of everything which I printed along with the tracking schedule that showed a new label was created on the day I sent it at 4:50 pm stating UPS had not received the package yet! I left it there at 7:30am that morning of Feb. 8th with the label attached so why create another label, unless the first one was damaged when a thief cut open the box to steal the money! At 8:32pm my tracking says "we have your package" at Gainesville, Ga. Zhub! Too many unanswered questions, but the truth is there is a thief working for UPS so beware! I shared all this with assistant manager there, called corporate and nothing was done. Found out UPS will not reimburse you for checks, cash or gift cards sent, which the employees didn't know cause they said next time send a check!! I have not been reimbursed for the shipping, just nothing! So, I will never deal with this UPS store again. Hopefully the thief will get caught but it doesn't seem to bother anyone but me! read more

I am extremely satisfied with the convenience and service at the UPS Store in Ellijay Ga. I travel and knowing my packages and mail are secure provides me a peace of mind and a great service. Since moving to Ellijay, I've found the service I receive at the UPS store is accommodating and suited to my individual needs versus USPO. The employees recognize me when I walk in or call anticipating my arrival. I'm always satisfied with the service I receive. Even at the store's busiest times (Christmas) the employee's attempt to serve their customers as quickly and efficiently as possible offering refreshments each day as a courtesy and a means of appreciation. It's easy to be critical of those in public service but The UPS Store facilitates my needs perfectly. Thumbs Up! read more

I will drive to Jasper's UPS Store before I ever go to this one again. I was there on Saturday to drop off some Amazon returns. The woman working that day was not only extremely rude, she literally threw one of my packages on the floor. Luckily, the contents were breakable but she had no way of knowing this. Amazon info clearly stated that I didn't need to package anything before taking to the store for return back to Amazon. I had everything in the original boxes but this poor woman actually had to put a strip of tape on the box, which was apparently the catalyst for her anger toward me. I had a terrible experience at our local UPS store this past week. I've heard stories about how bad this location was, so I always had my husband go in for me but this time I really needed to take care of something quick. This older woman named Katie was extremely rude and is definitely not fit for customer service. There's no reason to act the way she did just because I didn't have packaging tape for my box. If I had a face shield on, like a nice shiny orange one she had on, maybe she would have been a bit kinder, who knows. Brought my cable TV equipment to store as instructed by AT&T. Told Every UPS store knows what to do n will return no charge to me. They have a national contract with them. Rude and discriminatory! They will deny service base on disability and religious issues. They will not provide masks, they will not tell you they "require" one, and they do not fallow FEDERAL LAW in regard to civil liberties. Even when I informed them they were violating federal law, and handed them a copy of said law, they stated it did not apply to them -- surprise, it does! -- and told me to leave. Lady at this location left me holding heavy package while she waited on another person who had just walked in. Their was 2 other working at store. After helping hold package while she tape wrapped it then wanted help putting package on scales. This was a return to Etrailer who was footing the return bill. Too bad I have to give a star. Katie and Bev are perhaps the rudest customer service employees ever. On multiple visits I have seen them yell at customers, be rude, and consistently act like customers are a nuisance and not a blessing. Oh and to top that off, I had a package delivered to the store, as a UPS Access Point pickup location and when I went to pickup the package, Katie rudely demanded a $5 'processing fee'. i asked why there was a fee and she said they had to 'process' my package. According to UPS website, there is no additional fee. All the store does is scan my package and put it on a shelf until I pick it up. I told her I wouldn't pay it and she said she would just keep my package and proceeded to put it back on the shelf. I told her that was my property and she couldn't hold it without showing me where it said there would be an additional fee, and she couldn't. Then Bev came up and said stores can charge whatever they want, $5, $10, $20...i said that was ridiculous. As my package was being held for ransom, I paid the $5 and decided to post this review. The only way to fix this issue is with your wallet. Go to Jasper or Canton...I will. Oh, and I will tell everyone I know about my horrible experience, including UPS franchise relations. read more

They are very rude at this store and they over charge!! I went in 7 min. before closing and basically Cindy bickered with me about coming in the next day instead. I advised I could not do that could we please just mail it out today, she finally said hurry up and go get it. I had to hear how she has had a 12 hr. day. I checked out and walked out the door at 6:04pm. Had she not given me a hard time and said come on in and helped me, we all would have walked out at 6pm. They charge way to much for their materials. I called the UPS Corporate Office and come to find out for the size box I mailed, they overcharged me by $4.97!! Horrible! These folks overcharge. My mom went in to box and ship me a gift. She brought in the item, it was already lightly packaged. The dishonest folks at The UPS Store, placed the item in a larger box and wrapped one ring of bubble wrap around the item... and for that, they charged $30. Yep, $30! For $30, my mom could have purchased a box, an entire roll of bubble wrap, and packing tape with roller!!!! As a comparison, I have shipped much larger items from my local location and the shippers have provided a very large box, individually wrapped each of the multiple items in bubble wrap, and filled the box with styrofoam peanuts. And all of that ran me less than $25. Next, the scammers at The UPS Store in Ellijay, charged $90 for second day shipping. I checked the UPS website and shipping on the item should have been $45. I even took the item to a local UPS shipping store after it arrived, and they told me that they would have charged $60. I understand that you pay for the convenience of having a local store ship your item, but charging double on shipping, on top of the rip off packing fees is dishonest and unethical. They take advantage to the local customers as they are the only game in town. That is a shame. It's sad to see business's take advantage of elderly local customers. I advise any and all potential customers of the Ellijay location of The UPS Store to be cautious. My next step is to contact The UPS Store Corporate Office in San Diego, and inform them of the dishonest and unethical practices of this location. Then I plan on contacting UPS. While they are not owned by UPS, they bear the UPS logo and name. read more

There needs to be a zero for rating. They have always been rude here way before covid/masks but now even worse. Back a few months ago I was in line behind an elderly man. Neither of us had masks on. They yelled at the man to put on a mask. He refused and laid the package down and started to walk out and the short, pudgy man threw the package at the elderly man, at this point the girl told me I had to have my mask on, I calmly told her I was exempt due to medical reasons and was told loudly there were no exceptions and basically if I couldn't wear it to send someone in for me. At this point the elderly man and I had stepped outside of the ups store now we were on public property on the sidewalk. The manager/short pudgy man followed us out of the store yelling at us and shaking his fist at us. I called East Ellijay PD and was told to all corporate, which I did. This past Saturday I went in with my mask on but underneath my nose. Was told rudely to pull it up over my nose. I did so just because I had to return the package asap. I did make a comment about the company still being socialist and as I left I started removing my mask as my back was to them and about to open the door, that same manager make a remark like "fine be that way" which is fine, I could care less what he thinks lol . BUT after I got in my car with my door closed I look up and that sane manager had followed me out of the store yet again , now on public property and was all red and angry indicating me to open my door or roll my window down. Of course I refused. He yelled at me to never come back to that store again not a problem buddy. I literally will drive to Jasper or Blue Ridge from now on where they are so much friendlier there. I will even comply without sarcasm to wear the mask as long as they are nice. When you are rude to customers you are just asking for rudeness back. Employees are just doing their job if the company makes them require the stupid mask but they need to be nice and understanding. We took 3 boxes in to ship yesterday that I had wrapped with craft paper. They told me that it was possible that with the shipping equipment, the paper could tear and then they would not know where to send the package. The packages all contained clothing going to New Jersey for a charity project in Israel. So, I did not want them to get lost. I asked for suggestions on how to best remedy the situation. They suggested that I just re-box them. So, that's what we did. Spent a little extra at Walmart but that worked great. I really appreciate their suggestion. I received an electronic document from a bank that required my signature, and I needed to email it back to them. I had not used the UPS store in Ellijay, so I thought I would give them a try. I asked how much to print 4 pages, then to scan them back in with a signature. I was quoted $2.40 + tax. Granted, that sounded a little low, but I thought it would be great to get my moneys worth at a UPS store for a change. After the pages were printed, I signed and handed the papers back to the clerk. She looked confused and said "Why are you handing those back to me?". I said so you can scan them back in. She said "Oh it's $1.00 per page to scan + $2 email fee". That's right, $8.40 + tax for the job, not $2.40. Turns out the $2.40 was just to print 4 pages. You can almost buy a ream of paper for that. I paid the $2.40 for the printing and left (without so much as a "Thank you" from the staff). I downloaded a free scanner app for my iPhone and scanned them myself for $0.00. I never expected a bait and switch scam from a locally owned Ellijay business. Take your money elsewhere. Let's put these clowns out of business. UPDATE: I'm not sure what the comment from the owner below about "Repeat Email" means, but this happened on Saturday, March 17th, 2018.
