The older lady at the counter was extremely unprofessional: rude, abrasive and condescending. If you hate your customers so much, why work there? I've been using Elroy's place since it was Mailboxes' Etc. He's an excellent businessman and a professional, and always accommodates reasonable requests. I've recommended him to many, and one friend uses the place for his mail. I've shipped anything you can think of through him, and he's got a knack for putting together a box exactly right to save you money. We've used his store for notary, and shipping USPS items return receipt. We've bought cute bubble envelopes which make birthday gifts all the more special. He did turn down my business once when I wanted to ship wine to a friend in New York and at the time, it was illegal. I admired him for his ethics. As I said, he's a good man and a friend and runs a business professionally and works with all reasonable requests. read more

No, I'm not "new to shipping", and that seems like a rather lame way to try to excuse the bad behavior of your employee. If you bother to read the review, you might notice that I did agree to provide my phone number, which solicited a completely uncalled-for obnoxious response from the person behind the counter. That was the issue, not my off-hand phone number comment. Instead of blaming this encounter on the customer, I think you would be better off looking at all of the 1-star reviews and asking yourself whether treating customers in this way is a smart business strategy, especially given that there is another UPS store about 5 blocks away (not to mention FedEx and USPS shipping options). read more

This store used to owned by a lovely human named Leroy. He was so very accommodating to me in every way. One time I had brought in a package to be shipped and he insisted on Re-packing it for me to save money!! In October I went in to ship a package to my sister for her birthday. Enclosed were a gorgeous pair of Dolce & Gabbanna leopard shoes ( she always loved them) and a pair of new slippers that were a gift. I'm not a fan of slippers at all; I'm a sock girl thru and thru. Anyway the girls that were so called helping me were very interested in the conversation they were having with each other and could have cared less about me and my package!!! I usually never insure my items but in this situation I felt uncomfortable with my lack of service, so I insured it for $250.00. The shoes were $511.00 brand new and I had only worn them a couple of times because the heels were so high and I thought how much my sister lusted for them, what a perfect idea since she never pays the outrageous amounts that I spend on shoes, and she wouldn't care that they were slightly worn. I always keep my heels in excellent condition. Thank god for my shoe man, I'll get to him later. Of course the girls screwed up the address and the package was never found :( Going thru the claim process was a total nightmare; first they asked for receipts. I never keep receipts when I don't plan on returning things. I did have the original box; so that was helpful since the price was on it. I also explained that the slippers were a gift; but I was able to find them online and sent them a photo of both. My insurance was for $250.00 and I was assured they would also reimburse me for the shipping cost of $38.19. Today I finally picked up my check and they shorted me $10.00 The worst; Done & Done! Update: Bill the owner called and let me know he had found the missing package and gave it back to me, no charge! That is really great since I have it back and I can give it to my sister next year. The middle-aged woman who works here is a total disgrace. As soon as I talked to her I realized she was one of those--a passive-aggressive, condescending and irredeemable loser. I should've left right there and then, but for whatever stupid reason I stuck around and endured her snarky presence for 5 more minutes. I finally did leave the store without finishing what I came here for, because simply sharing the same air with her made me want to puke. If you have to go to a UPS store, use the other one on Santa Cruz Ave, or just go to Cambrian Park. Trust me, you don't want to come here. Life's too short. After one negative experience at this store (note, this store, not UPS in general), I thought I would give this place another try. I wish I hadn't. I absolutely wasted my time. I'd give one of the employees 5 stars though for her foul interactions. The lady running this store is beyond unprofessional and unkind. She is the most negative, unpleasant, disrespectful person I have ever encountered as a customer in my life. She is sarcastic, witchy and absolutely foul. She has no filter, and she lacks basic common knowledge about customer service. I have tried to send domestic and international packages from this location, and I will NEVER do so again. This lady really needs to be told how rude she is. Her wicked demeanor is literally driving away business. I am not expecting a conversation or a compliment, but basic human respect. Nothing but snarky and condescending comments both experiences. Also, the prices at this store are always the highest (I was almost quoted 200% of what another postal business quoted me to send an international package). DO NOT GO HERE. I won't go on and on...suffice it to write that the lady who helped me (again, is THIS the right Michelle in the right location who garnered bad reviews before?) was pleasant and outgoing. She was super helpful and spent time going over some rather tricky packaging procedures for a set of grandmother's china. She was efficient and explained shipping times and costs to me. Everyone is entitled to a bad day at work...maybe several bad days. I didn't see it, and I thought the employees here are about as good as it gets. read more

Worst service ever! Just needed a receipt for my package that's all boxed up with a prepaid label ready to go. And she said, "It will take 20 mins!" Then continues with the notary than do mine which will take no time at all. Even the guy who is getting notarized said that she could do mine first, she said, "No, you were here first". I absolutely hate going to this location. The woman in the front who works the mornings is so rude every time. Even just for a simple drop off, she yells at you that she needs to see the label. When I ask a question, she talks back in a very condescending manner making me feel stupid no matter what it is, like you're supposed to know everything about shipping. She has no problem doing this in front of other customers too. I've also seen her yell at others. So unnecessary. Today was no different even though I knew what I was walking into. I keep telling myself I won't go there but every now and then I have to because it's on my way to work and even the smallest interaction is just awful. Based on other reviews, I believe I'm talking about the same woman. Short, brown hair. She's there every morning. This time was definitely the last time. I won't be going back. There are other locations that treat people much better. Nobody should be talked to the way she talks to customers for no absolute reason. read more

The old lady was rude, VERY rude! Probably the most rude person I've ever met! I went there to return two Amazon packages, one was a big box and heavy (~45lbs) so I put it on the shelf slowly, she said "put on the scale!" I said "sure" and then asked "altogether?" because I had two boxes, then she repeated "just - put - on - the - scale!" the tone was bad and impatient, then pulled one of the boxes over! After putting the second (heavy) one on the scale, she scanned the bar code and told me "let go", my hands were not on the box, so I thought she wanted to move the box back to the shelf, and because it's heavy, I thought I could help her, I put my hands back to the box and ready to pull it back, then she repeated "I said - let go!" "OK" I said and stepped back. While she's printing the receipt, she gave me a dirty look and said "hope your day will follow the order" (not exactly what she said but close, I was shocked and couldn't remember it clearly, wish I had a GoPro with me). I took the receipt the left. I can't believe a store like this still exists, other 1-star reviews are true! I will NEVER come back after this bad experience! read more

I have never used UPS till this last month. I walked into this store not sure what to do with shipping my first time. Boy did I get lucky and met the most polite, professional, and friendly gal named Caitlan. She right away greeted me with the biggest smile and ask me if she could help me. She spend some time explaining the best way to ship my packages and treated me with the utmost respect and patience. I was so happy and impressed with her knowledge that I decided to do all my shipping from now on with UPS at this location.
