We have shipped many packages via UPS and recently had an issue which should have been handled better.

I went in to get something printed. I wanted to email the ups store a black and white label, single sheet for them to print off. This would normally cost the charge of a copy, arond 20 cents. Now, they told me printing something off email would be 2 dollars. They said there is a surcharge if I send it in email. Again, this was a single sheet black and white page with very little written on it! What a joke! read more

Fortunately I walked into the store when the owner, Susan Gold -Edelstein was working. She helped me for over 90 minutes trying to locate the shipping receipt for Verizon, the FiOS provider who is charging my wife and me over $600 for "lost" equipment almost six months ago when I sent the equipment to them in their own box and label". Susan searched the database but because the Verizon shipping label was from "Verizon to Verizon" it was difficult to find the exact shipping information. She called Verizon and then having little service used the chat session on line to find the equipment serial numbers to narrow down the shipment. I left the store with adequate information to fight the Verizon claim and Susan even offered to help me with the claim. Susan demonstrated outstanding customer service and real care for a customer she just met while Verizon was little help for a customer of over 30 years. I watched a very efficient staff during this time and was impressed. read more

This is definitely my favorite UPS store. Super friendly staff very helpful. They always take care of my packages making sure they're boxed up correctly and labeled correctly. Wish i could give zero stars. If you enjoy handing money over for nothing and rude service, please do visit here. The man has no business in the shipping business. PLEASE DO GO TO UPS Store in South Riding. It will cost you 5 more minutes and save you enough money to buy dinner...just to mail a letter. He has a ridiculous service fee he buries in everything he does. A stamp will probably cost you an extra $10. I'm not kidding. Regular mail I ship to Philadelphia area costs me $8 for ground UPS (that is next day from here)....from UPS. When I mail the same letter from this dude it costs me $25 and takes twice the time. I will never go here ever again. UPS should take their logo, name and credibility back from this rip off. read more

Perhaps the owner of the franchise thinks the residents of South RIding have more money than common sense because I can't think of any other reason why this UPS Store chooses to obscenely PRICE GOUGE. Office Depot and Staples both charge 25 cents to scan a single page document to be stored on a memory stick. What does this worthless store charge? $5.00. That's right, $5 to scan a one page. No paper used, no phone line transmission. Just scan and store. Such a shame this franchise owner is giving the UPS Store brand a black eye. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I dropped a package off at this store a week ago. It has since gone missing. They've had made no attempt to fix the situation or find out what went wrong besides telling me to "check the tracking number" When calling to inquire about it I have gotten "This isn't my job." run around answer's of we will look into and call you back(i've had to call back myself 3 times). And my favorite from SUSAN, when asked to speak to management "I'm busy, look it up online." When asked what am I supposed to do about the item that was lost, or the refund money I was supposed to receive based on them scanning the package when they accepted it, I was met with the attitude of "Your loss." This place used to be my go to spot to ship things Yesterday I was refused service on a package that contained a gun barrel. A portly, scruffy, asian man stated that he would not ship anything related to a gun at all. This of course is not UPS policy, I realize you cannot ship a firearm unless its between dealers, this was a tubular piece of metal. What was worse is he did it with such an attitude, I can only assume he himself or the owner has some overall issue with firearms. I cant say I am all gung ho crazy on making everything a second amendment issue, but I can say I wont give my business to anyone, or any company that changes the rules to fit their personal beliefs like this. read more

3 years we have been using this UPS location. The caller is always short and rude and not willing to help. This time was told to call back in 15 mins. I called back and then asked to call back in another 15 mins. Customers over the phone are also customers especially those that pay for an annual service. read more

I have been using this store for quite some time and i have always received OK service, just stopped by to return a book to amazon and 'Sharon' was having a bad day, she won't let me use their tape and she wanted me to buy a $5 book envelope or stuffing for $5in order not to damage the book. She was obviously not smart and just trying to sell something. I ended up taking the book back. Very bad customer service for a small business. Will never go back there. read more

I am very disappointed that this store ships my package to the wrong address a couple of months ago they then call me to say this package was somehow sent back to their store. They don't even know how the package arrived back to them. When I ask for a refund since I had to ship a new package thinking that my original package was lost, their response is "do you have the original receipt?" I don't because once UPS tells me they lost my package I have no use for that receipt. When I ask them "do you the store have the ability reprint the receipt since I'm in your database" of course the answer is no and that means I am disqualified from getting a refund for giving me a package that was incorrectly shipped. Susan was OUTSTANDING!!! I had 3 batteries to return to Verizon and no one at Verizon had been helpful. She called on my behalf and talked to someone in the billing department. She stayed on the phone with them until my account had been credited and we figured out what to do with the batteries. In my mind, she went above and beyond with her customer service! I think it is ridiculous that they close at 7:30 PM on a week day. Most people in this area work elsewhere and need to ship after work.

My husband had a horrible experience at this location last Friday, on November 10th, 2017. He went there to notarize two documents and the notary (a young woman) REFUSED to do that. She claimed she couldn't notarized them because she has never seen those forms before. One document was to authorized me to travel abroad with our children and the second document was an application for identification card on the military base. My husband has specifically said he needed to have those documents notarized asap because he was leaving for Afghanistan the following day but she still refused. Too bad this happened on the Veteran's Day since my husband is a former Marine. He had to look for another notary and asked me to never use this location again. read more

I ship at this facility quite frequently and usually pleased with service but they assure a refund if delivery is not made on time. I paid $48 for next morning delivery. Delivery was a day late. When I went into the store to fill out refund paperwork it took 20 minutes and the owner assured me I would be refunded via check. No refund! Just be aware that they don't follow through on the refund promise. read more

I have a UPS mailbox at South Riding. I am there so often that Susan almost seems like a family member. I enjoy her humor and warmth very much, and the other customers also appear to. On one occasion I ordered delivery of a meal from the Blue Apron meal delivery service. I was still in DC when it arrived late before UPS closed. I could not get back to South Riding in time to pick it up. To keep it from going bad (the frozen packaging only stays frozen for so long) Susan personally took it over to our house after closing up. She definitely didn't have to do that. Of course, I have never had any issues with mailing and receiving mail. read more

I visited this location this past Saturday in need of notary services. My husband contacted the location earlier in the week to see if they provided the service and was told they did. When I arrived Saturday, I wasn't only greeted by the staff, but also the police, followed by an unnecessarily detailed explanation about a missing staff member. I understand the staff member was the only notary on staff, however I feel it was very unprofessional to be giving out such personal information to customers. I was sent to the UPS store in Ashburn, (I will be writing a review regarding my experience there as well) and was left wondering how many other customers they overshared with. I am very disappointed with this store and the level of unprofessionalism the manager (I'm assuming, the older woman with black hair) showed. I am still very worried, for the staff member and their level of confidentiality. read more

I recently went to this location on 19Jun and the manager that was there would not allow me to ship a shoebox full of recycling materials which I had shipped from shoeboxes before, at this same location. There's clearly a lack of consistency with different employees enforcing policy. I'm disappointed in my recent experience here. I almost always go here when I need to ship something. Today as the service rep was weighing my box I noticed a small tear in my box which I had not noticed at home. I asked if she would mind putting a bit of tape on it. She replied in a snotty voice that it would cost me $1 for extra tape. Seriously? This is like the third or fourth item I've shipped since Christmas. I know this is how they make their money but I think it would have been a gesture of good customer service to seal the crack in my box with less than 2 inches of tape. read more

Time is money, for the cost of gas and the cost of my time it is way cheaper then any of the post offices in Chantilly. HUGE Disappointment! I've used this location 3 times for printing jobs. Each time the quality was either very poor or halfway completed; this is even after getting a notification saying my print job was completed. The new management people are VERY RUDE. I called about a msc. charge for services on my credit card and the lady (Lorraine) told me to dispute it with my credit card company. It's obvious they dont know what they are doing and I'm very worried about my Creidt Card information being misplaced. They have lost my business. read more

I had a PO box here for several months and also used the mailing services. Sometimes the staff has been helpful and sometimes not, it seems to depend on whether any of their friends are hanging out at the time. A couple packages were lost and later found in the shuffle in the back of the store. When compared to the competition, the fees for various services did seem quite high. read more
