When I entered this UPS store I was immediately disheartened to join the very long line that went all the way to the store's entrance. There appeared to be two staff members working, helping people at the desks secure and pay for packages. You know how it usually goes when you see this sort of situation -- the employees, even if well-intentioned -- are sluggish, everyone gets disgruntled, it's a frustrating experience for all. HOWEVER! At this particular UPS store, on this day, I was immediately impressed with how fast the line moved but especially with the employees. The UPS store on Weems Ave shipped a small additive manufacturing system I make to Massachussetts, and it arrived with visual damage to a main power switch that made it inoperable for the customer. It was insured for full value, and the damage required it to be shipped back to me, repaired and retested, and then reshipped to my customer. The Manager at the store fought me all the way, and the UPS Capital insurance carrier refused to pay for the damage and the cost of shipping and insuring the system from and then back to my customer at a net loss to me of ~$2000.00 plus my time. Worst customer service ever. Sent a package 2nd Day Air. It took 4 days to get there; past when the package needed to be. I filed a claim for a refund with the store. Still have not received refund. Called the store today and was hung up on after being told to stop talking "she didn't want to hear the whole story". I told her she was being rude... if you want your packages to arrive on time, take them somewhere else. And good luck getting a refund. They owe me over $100. If this was the other way around they would just charge my credit card. If you can't deliver package on time, don't offer the service and use my money read more

Very dissatisfied with service. Sent letter overnight Guaranteed and was delivered 5 days later. Returned to store for refund and was told refund would be issued by UPS in about 10 days. They would not give refund because it was "an UPS issue"I waited 15 days and no refund. Contacted UPS and was told to contact store, refund was sent to them. Went back to store and was told that refund would come from UPS. They were "too busy to help me because they had other customers" I guess more important customers. I was told they would call me back, I did not find this acceptable and wanted them to address it then . They told me I had to leave. I was called back within a half hour by store and told a check was written 4/14/25 and I would receive in a few days. When I said that is not what UPS customer Service told me, The manager said that was incorrect and if you call UPS customer service "you will get 5 different answers" if i have a problem call UPS Corporate office. I have tried 2 x to call but on hold both time in excess of 20 min then phone disconnects. Lesson learned Use FEDEX. read more

On a very busy day with a line out the door all of the employees were pleasant and efficient. I can't say enough about their positivity in the face of mountains of work, very impressed! I had a lot of items to ship and they handled them with steady efficiency, even offering advice on shipping one item. I had an Amazon purchase to return. The first clerk told me "you have to take that to UPS, that won't work" after looking at my "return to sender" package. "we are independently owned and operated". I left before returning to the store because I knew she just didn't want to help me. I got in line again. Luckily I got a different clerk who explained I needed a code from Amazon so she scan it and print a new label. I had to go back out to my car to get my phone. Getting the code took 3 seconds. Back in line. I got the helpful clerk again Because the other one just gave me a look and walked away when it was my turn. She printed a new label, placed it in my package and placed it in with the outgoing packages. One employee tried. The other did not. read more

I brought my kids in for passport photos and was dismayed to find the employees were not following the mask mandate for the state. The numbers are sky high and masks were tucked under the chin. Hard pass. read more

Terrible experience with this store, the store manager, and the owner. My unsealed package was accepted for transportation - contents known to store employee - and I added insurance in the amount of $500. My package was destroyed on transit and, several weeks later after I did all the sleuthing, I was told the contents could not be shipped out of Virginia via UPS. The store manager called me a liar - but no one asked me what was in the wine carton (duh!) - I wish that had been made known to me prior to my losing out on my $500 shipment home. I could go on and on but I won't. My recommendation is to avoid this location at all costs. I have given the store several opportunities to correct this wrong but this falls upon deaf ears. read more

So here I am standing in line waiting for my turn to overhear some nasty people complain about why are they having to wait in line.. I'm in the customer service business myself... The worst experience ever. My ipad sat for 2 days without being shipped. When I went in to see why I was never called with a tracking number, I was rudely told the "system was down" but they never bothered to call and tell me, and my ipad was still sitting there, not even packaged. Supposedly the system in California that communicates with Apple. Manager was extremely rude and called me ridiculous for wanting my ipad to already be shipped. Asked for her bosses info, she told me to call UPS. I asked for the owners info, because that is her boss, and she told me no. Asked for my ipad back and she called the police! Police must have told her to give it to me because while she was on the phone with them she handed it back. I will never return here and hope nobody else does either until a sign is posted that says "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT". read more

Hardly even 1 star. Don't plan on getting any assistance, or solutions to your shipping needs. This place is the ultimate in self-service at pay as you go rates. Be prepared- anything related to shipping your item is going to cost you. The 12 year old boy behind the counter doesn't have a clue about customer service. The only thing he appears to give a crap about is pointing you towards their computer to address your shopping needs oh and you must pay for your time on their computer. Came in to print out a document and the manager said I wasn't able to use computer because it was in the middle of an update. Since I had driven 30 minutes just to print at the store, I inquired if there was anywhere else in town that I could go. Her response was rude, unprofessional and dismissive. People really need practice what they preach. Kindness matters. Especially in the service industry. I will take my business elsewhere. *** In response the owner: I was not upset about the fact that the manager was doing a computer update (although it should be done after business hours), I was specifically taken aback by her response to my question when asking for help and guidance. While I find it admirable you are defending your employee, maybe you should inquire from her specifically what was said before dismissing me as not being "understanding". Best of luck! read more

Last week I had to send a fax and chose to use the UPS store in Winchester. One of the pages that needed to be faxed was legal while the rest were letter sized. The young man who stepped up to help me advised me that it was impossible to reduce the legal sized document, and then said he would get someone else to help me. Then, as he walked away to assist another associate with a customer, he called out to an older associate who was headed out the door to assist someone else. This is when things digressed quickly. When the older associate did not respond, younger called older a "senile old man" in front of me and then left me standing there, alone. When he finally returned, he walked me over to the copier while continuing to say he was sure the page reduction was impossible. I then replied I was sure it shouldn't be that hard - I used to do it when I was working. His response: then why don't YOU do it. His attitude continued to be acerbic - and I will confess I went along with it. He finally got the document onto one page - sideways, but done. My issue - calling the associate a "senile old man". This UPS Store is my go to place for sending my packages. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The staff always helps me resolve my shipping problems, especially when I've procrastinated until the last minute. After all it's not there problem when I waited unti the last minute. So I recommend going in the store with a positive vibe and everything will work out fine. The staff is awesome and wiling to help you. read more

Have been a UPS client for at least a decade, I can say the service has been very consistent throughout the years. Have shipped thousands of pounds, made thousands of copies (hard copy/hard copy, memory/hard copy, email/hard copy, one sided/two sided, enlargement reductions, multiple up...ext.) the UPS Team/csr folks have always been there when needed. There will always be IT bleeps with equipment from time to time, no matter what the business industry although this store is up and running 99.5% of the time. A back-up plan is a better approach to problems rather than taking frustration out on a long time local business. I can only hope that if we should ever have a store front that I could find a manager as consistently reliable as the one at this location. UPS Stores have had to adapt to many UPS Corp. changes along the way but always manage to GET THE JOB DONE. Be warned, the employees only want to do the bare minimum when it comes to helping people. Since I bank with USAA, the only way I can deposit paper money into my account is by bringing a money order or check to this store. I was told by USAA customer service that this store could help me. The employees had no idea how to work the machine and had to get a store manager; who seemed pissed that I disturbed her nap or whatever she was doing in the back office. I was told they couldn't help me unless I had a money order or check. I work long hours and there is no way I can make it to the post office to get a money order. I looked online at the services that any UPS store could provide and it clearly stated that money orders would be no problem. I called the store to confirm this, and once again I got a, "No, we can't help you." Since USAA is a military bank I will not switch to a local bank. If this the standard with customers, let alone veterans, I think I will take my business to FedEx. read more
