I stumbled across Belcoma Chiropractic and Carolyn Harman when living in the Dandenong Ranges and was in need of some help with my back. I can honestly say that Carolyn is, by a country mile, the best Chiro I have ever been to, she has a level of insight and technique which I have never previously come across and I wholeheartedly recommend her. I recently left the area to live elsewhere and only wish she would consider moving to the sun of the Gold Coast so that I could continue to benefit for her support - alas unlikely.

I went to Back in Motion after an injury a year or so back to get it diagnosed and treated. The…read morestaff were all friendly, organised and highly professional, and the practice itself clean and well presented. However, after it became apparent that my injury was not improving, the physio is question refused to reconsider their diagnosis. Eventually, I gave up on the practice and declined to book any more sessions. Skip ahead six months and another physio at another practice has taken a slower, more methodical approach to the diagnosis and discovers that it is an entirely different malady to that which the original physio had claimed. The new diagnosis was then confirmed by an MRI. I want to make it clear that many injuries are extremely difficult to diagnose correctly, and that it can happen to anyone. However, I can't help but resent the flippant approach this particular physio had to my injury and their refusal to reconsider their initial assessment in the face of a lack of improvement. The appointments were all short, and I did feel a little ushered out of room at times. However, I would definitely recommend this practice for their personal training and fitness classes, particularly the pilates. Any fitness routines conducted under the supervision of well-informed physios is always a good idea, particularly regarding the prevention of injuries.

I'm a runner and was involved in a motorbike accident a year ago that took me away from jogging for…read morearound a few month and was trying to get back in shape and was struggling with running form due to hip/lower back pain since i landed on hip/back and add to that some shoulder pain... Took me 8 month to make the decision of visiting a Physio to see if they can help and i wish i done that earlier. Chose BMI Brunswick due to proximity to my house and can't be happier with the service that these guys provide. Had my shoulder looked at by Aaron who diagnosed the problem correctly(overuse...) and recommended a few stretching exercises that still help till today. I explained my situation to him in regards to running and he suggested i look at taking part in the Pilates for runners program that these guys offer. I attended the presentation for the program and found it to be pretty helpful and Christine and Marcus seemed to know what they are talking about so i enrolled in the 6 week program which included a very thorough one to one assessment where Christine, my instructor for the program, managed to identify weak muscles and recommended some exercises to strengthen those muscles. She was very considerate throughout the whole program and she had a keen eye for details. She gave hints and cues that put my running back on track and at the end of the program, she tailored another personal program for myself and the other runners in the group(another 3), in case one wants to do more sessions and work more on the weak muscles identified during the running program. We also got a home program that taught some basic Pilates moves which is a great addition to any weekly exercise program. The running program exceeded my expectations and Pilates as a fitness system is definitely helping with my running and although the idea of doing Pilates was not really appealing to my mind at first, but after most of the sessions, i was huffing and puffing walking out of the clinic and felt the burn of a good workout so i definitely changed my mind about Pilates. All and all, these guys offer a very good service. Sessions where always on time, very thorough and they are very considerate and try their best to give you very good value for money. I'll be back for the personalised program for sure.

My health is extremely important to me and Paul is the reason I was always performing at my optimum. I trust him fully and seek his advice and counsel whenever i need to. I started coming here because of chronic back pain from pregnancy. After a rushed examination, and…read moremore than 4 months of expensive weekly massage 'treatments', they still had not moved me on to pilates. The only exercises suggested were stretches and no strengthening and endless weekly appointments. I did not see how I was going to improve and I was not improving. They even pushed me to do 2x a week appointments, claiming I would get better quickly! The pain wasn't going away, I was merely paying them to massage my back for 20 minutes. I started to feel they were merely getting me in meet their KPI and to make as much money as they could from me, with no real goal for improvement for my back. I stopped going and went to another place. They promptly did a wide range of examinations and diagnosed me correctly. They also encouraged strengthening exercises at home and pilates, and fortnightly appts, not 2x a week! What a difference. In conclusion, I would not recommend back in motion at all for those with chronic back pain.

Getting in and out of the car and negotiating stairs were the biggest constant problems. Rush assessed my poor condition and set out a routine of clinical Pilates. As I improved progress was noted and the routine reassessed constantly over the next few months. I no longer have the constant back and leg pain, but I still attend the sessions as I need to keep strengthening the weaker aspects of my ageing body. My mobility now is good and I go up and down stairs without giving it a thought. Rush and Dom have been the main physios I have seen and I would highly recommend all of the physios for their professional and careful treatment.
