It's with this, that it's a crap-shoot when it comes to Chinese consumption in Newfoundland. Nevertheless, we were in Grand Falls for the night & I liked how the outside of Tai Wan looked; so I decided to give the inside a chance. I was very happy that I did. The food came quick and it was fresh & delicious. We didn't have anything elaborate, but you can tell when something has been sitting in the back for 3 weeks & when something seems like it was bought recently. I also had a Manhattan, and while I question how often people get Manhattans here by how long it took, I was very happy with the Manhattan and the cool tiki glass it came in! In addition to the awesome tiki glasses, the interior of Tai Wan is also very elaborate and neat. (Although the wallpaper in the bathroom makes you glad you didn't drop any acid before visiting Tai Wan.) A lot of the Chinese places in Newfoundland feel like bland food that are just helping you reach your calorie requirement; but not Tai Wan - the food was actually enjoyable & I will definitely return one day.
