Do your research!!! Stay away from Dr. Englander and her team. Her team was too busy chatting…read moreamongst themselves while wrapping me up and they improperly applied a compression wrapping to my leg which then led me to developing a blood clot. A blood clot pushing into my femoral vein and now I'll have a lifetime of complications from. This is what happened; When you go before your procedure they give you a form about signs to looks out for, if your having complications, and they also go over this with at the office in depth as well. My first procedure, on my right leg, goes fine. I'm wrapped from my groin to my ankle. I have zero problems with that leg, other then a few spots that they missed, but when you're cross talking I guess that happens. After my second procedure, on my left leg, I have "all" the signs that something is going wrong. Why? Because Sharon and Chris wrapped me improperly. They wrapped me 6" from my groin and down. Now remember your on sedatives, Valium, to be exact. I didn't think much of it and went on my way. They are the medical professionals and I assumed they knew what they were doing. The next day after I unwrapped my leg, the 6" of uncompressed upper thigh/groin area is swelled and red. This is a sign of a serious complication, according to the form they give you. Therefore I call the office. Sharon answers and blows me off. Making me feel as if I'm lying and over exaggerating my symptoms and will not let me speak to a doctor as she suggested I wait. The next day I call, my upper thigh/groin area is more swollen and red then the day before. I get Sharon, who comes across agitated I called again, and she pulls the same thing. This time I'm more demanding to speak to the doctor. The doctor suggests I come in for a ultra sound. Guess what they find? Like I mentioned before, a blood clot pushing into my femoral vein from my superficial cauterized vein from the procedure. Which I needed to take blood thinners to get the blood clot to go away and blood thinners are a bit dangerous. Dr. Englander, at our follow up visit, actually told me that I needed to tell any further surgeons that I'm at high risk for blood clots because she refused to take any responsibility for her team's neglect after I explained to her the difference in the compression wrap that Sharon and Chris did on each leg. If it was my body and not the shotty wrap job, then why did I not develop a blood clot in that same area on my other leg? Both legs had the same exact procedures done. I also wanted to make it known that Sharon should not work in the healthcare field. She is an unprofessional, rude, and bitter woman who made this whole process extremely uncomfortable and made me feel guilty and/or crazy about the complications from the procedure. Dr. Englander and her team also never finished my lower left leg. I, to this day, believe it was because I was flinching too much, but when you don't receive enough lidocaine shots in a sensitive area you tend to feel them cutting you open and ripping stuff out. Oh and for complications: I now have an exposed vericos vein on my lower left leg as a complication, but according to her and her team she couldn't find any veins. It's so big and gross on my leg a satellite could pick it up from space. Which the vein has ruptured, it's a horrific thing to have happen. I also have horrible swelling of my left leg. My left foot goes cold. I have also had several infection complications in my left food from the circulation problems. My inner upper thigh/groin area is permanently swollen from the blood clot because according to Chris blood pooled into that area and it's irreversible. Spider veins for days on both legs, again according to Chris is a complication from the procedure. Honestly, I wish I had spoken to a lawyer sooner. I'm not at all about ruining someone's life or a sue happy person, but as the years pass from having the procedures done the more and more I regret ever having it done, or walking into that office. I live with their mistakes, not them. Please do your research!!! And please make sure if they cauterize you from the groin down that they also compression wrap you from that area down!
