A church for…read moreLutherans The old Lutheran Church is a strange place that is literally swallowed by the much larger and practical new Lutheran Church. It's basically a large hall with a great alter and some beautiful windows. The old church was started back in 1911 when the Slovak Lutherans from Czechoslovakia came to Florida to establish an agriculture colony. They thrived and grew celery as well as many other crops. The church sort of grew along with the community. The main hall and windows have the appropriate morose and spooky feel to them. This was a place that the immigrants came to on Sundays to be closer to God and to seek an ethereal presence to their hard working lives. The stained glass windows aren't elaborate but then neither is the rest of the old church. Just enough to show that this was a special place that deserved something out of the ordinary. I love old churches, especially old Lutheran Churches. All the special Lutherans I once knew are long gone but this old church serves as a reminder of how things used to be.

For a large church, my husnad and I experienced a ward and homey setting. We were so blessed to met Randi and Marty initially and more people who were so warm and welcoming - I can not recall all their names. They were very encouraging and were loooking forward to us vworshipping with them in the future. The worship service ( with Communion) was very up beat as mesaage called us to be God's servents in the community sharing our God given gifts and talents with those around us. The facilities are beautiful. The parishoners filled with the love of Christ and so joyful! Thnak you for helping us feel right at home in your congregation. Blessings to you all in your ministry - " Christ 2 Community"

I love watching animals and have always been comfortable outdoors, but TJ taught me how to get up close to wild animals for better shots and photo backgrounds. As I progressed he helped me choose a great wildlife camera and appropriate accessories. TJ is a born teacher, focused, clear and patient and he makes it all fun. I've learned: Shooting birds in flight and other action photography. How to capture gorgeous sunrises and sunsets without a tripod. How to get the one-time shot at rocket launches. Night and long-exposure photography. How to organize and safely store all those gorgeous photos! TJ has even remote-coached me from Florida when I had trouble getting hummingbird shots while I was in Costa Rica. If you want to learn photography quickly and have fun doing it, you won't find a better teacher than TJ. You'll be getting terrific shots in no time.

The Music Box has a few options and several instructors. There are profiles on their site to help see how your potential instructors are before you start. Once you start attending, the same instructor works with you week after week (there was one exception where my son had a "sub" - but he knew about it in advance and we could have addressed it if there were concerns). Having the same instructor work with my son has been really helpful as she coaches him on his progress. Out instructor has been personable and helpful - he is continuing to grow in his confidence as a singer. The folks at the Music Box front desk are also easy to communicate with - although there have been one or two incidents of communication breakdown about various things (closures & make--up lessons in particular) - overall it has been positive. The make-up policies are a bit stringent; for example if you get sick on the day of, they don't do make-ups....although they offer virtual sessions (which is probably less helpful if you are sick and nursing your voice)....while not ideal, I believe that's pretty standard across music lesson places. That doesn't make it better - but doesn't really rank them any worse among other music lesson places. Again, criticisms aside, the overall experience here is positive. I think the most import part is that the student connects with their instructor, which I feel is occurring. THe instructors here appear to have sufficient resumes, and our instructor for my son does move him in the right direction musically. A quick note about the parking lot......if you come after work hours, it is particularly busy. There is not much space there, so it can be a challenge......just something to consider when booking your time, its not unmanageable, but it's sometimes a struggle.

My kids have participated in several recitals as well as performed in shows at various venues. The instructors are all accomplished musicians in their own right and their love for music shines through in the way they encourage their students and it's often difficult to tell who is more excited about the students progress. They truly care about their students. If you visit The Music Box be prepared for "joyful noise". Naturally you hear ongoing lessons, but it's the laughter and pure joy that is often the most striking. If your child has expressed an interest in music, check out The Music Box. You will be so happy that you did.

I will say, my 3 year old has not moved up a level in nearly a year. My 6 year old has only moved up one level. When my 6 year old was moved up a level, my 3 year old was at least as skilled a swimmer by their metrics. My 6 year old has progressed past him since moving to level 4, but it looks like my 3 year old is also ready for that growth and is being held back (because of his age?). I have asked the teachers what he needs to work on to move up and the answer has changed every single week. My kids love the lollipop at the end of each lesson! They also have a Keurig available for parents. Plenty of seating and floor to ceiling windows viewing the pool. This is not ISR, it is slow and steady traditional swimming lessons.

I signed up for real estate school with Karen Climer of Demetree Real Estate School and the first class was last night. I was super excited to go! Walked in the foyer and Karen was there and told us to silence our phones and put them away. So I pulled out my phone to silence it, walked into the room and found a desk. I laid down my notebook and put my phone on top while I was getting all my things situated. The next thing I know, she was in my face yelling at me "Did you not hear me when I said phones are not allowed in my classroom?!" I told her..."I did, I am getting ready to put it in my purse" and she screamed again at me "I told you not to carry it over the threshold of my classroom"! At this time I am mortified, humiliated because this is in front of the whole classroom! I said "I'm sorry" and she stopped yelling at me and walked to the front. While standing up still in shock, I said "Just so you know, that was extremely rude and unnecessary of you to speak to me that way". Throughout the course of this four hour class, she took two adults phones away from them when they forgot to put them away walking back in on break! She had other moments of speaking down to people in class as well. I asked for a refund but she will not refund me even though she told the class last night she would refund you if you don't like get no phone rule. We ended having a phone conversation today and she said I was disrespectful to her for "walking over the threshold with my phone". I told her you wouldn't talk to a DOG the way she spoke to me! So here is the deal...PLEASE PLEASE if you are considering going to Demetree School with Karen Climer....DO NOT. There are plenty of other great schools out there to choose from that treat you as a human being with kindness and respect. **She never explained why she has a strict no cell phone policy, but I imagine she wouldn't want people filming her treating people this way and putting it on the internet. It's disgusting really...I am still in complete shock from her emotionally abusive behavior!
