OMG - Great little cafe. Yummy coffee and dessert. The meat pies are homemade and look amazing!

We visited OMG based on the stellar reviews, and amusing name, and it did not disappoint!…read more We each had burgers and fries for lunch, and they were absolutely phenomenal! The fries were a perfect golden colour, the aioli was smooth and creamy. But the burger was the real star of the show, cooked to absolute perfection, juicy and full of flavour! It did get a little bit messy but that seemed to add to the overall experience. Phoenix cola served chilled in a glass was a nice touch. The service overall was very pleasant, and everyone here -both staff and patrons- were very friendly and happy to be there. If you can, sit outside on a nice day! You won't regret it. I suspect even sitting outside on a not-so-nice day, under the grapevine wrapped awnings, would still be quite nice.

Wow! What a great find OMG is…read more I walked in by accident after seeing a sign about a brisket and egg burger special. Since there is a cluster of restaurants right there at the corner of Kitchener & Ohio Streets, I walked in to OMG to ask whether that special was theirs. They said "yes," and then I took a seat inside. Their attentiveness was obvious from the first moment--again, friendly, but not overbearing like tip-dependent waitresses sometimes are in North America. I alternatingly had a male and female server, with both of whom I talked about the Wairarapa Valley, Martinborough wines, the weather, the USA... Good times. As for that brisket and egg burger, I also ordered it with fries and a white Chardonnay from Martinborough. I honestly forgot what I got for dessert. But, what an excellent meal! That brisket was just tender and had so much "personality," and the eggs and ciabatta bread just gave that burger a nice touch. I don't think they sell it all the time, but rather it was just on special (maybe I'm wrong, though...) As a neat little aside, there is a bus stop located caddy-corned across the street from the restaurant. I was standing at that bus stop the next day, and that same female server just happened to walk by and wished me a safe journey. Now that's a small town, for you! Well worth the visit when in beautiful Martinborough.

It opened in 1988 and while the neighborhood has changed (and calmed down a bit) and the patrons have changed (and are a bit more mainstream), it's a lively little spot with a fun vibe. Food is served around the clock starting with pastries and pancakes in the morning and moving to burgers and nachos later in the day. What's awesome about Midnight Espresso is that they are open late. Way late. 7:30 am weekdays and 8:00 on weekends, closing at 1:00 am. There's music, there's a fun vibe, there's some history. Five stars. This was the best flat white I had all week across five cities of New Zealand. [Review 468 of 2024 - 119 in New Zealand - round number 21500 overall]

This place was cozy and eclectic with a chalkboard menu, displays of food and pastries, and people coming in and out for breakfast. My friend and I were impressed with the selection of food, lots of vegetarian and vegan options. My Midnight Big Brekky was really good and perfect for the day. Note: they don't have almond milk, but they do have oat and soy milk options.

This must be a joke because this restaurant is named Fahrenheit…read more We scuttled quickly out of downtown Wellington because it was so busy and parking was a nightmare and stumbled upon Celsius aka Fahrenheit on the way out of town due to the 5-star Yelp review. It wasn't super busy and parking was easy to navigate. I can't remember their clever names, but we essentially ordered 2 lattes plus their eggs Benedict and mince on toast. Coffee was good and strong and well made. Benny was served on a giant hashbrown wedge which was really interesting. However, the entire thing sat heavy in my belly like a brick the entire day. Husband enjoyed his mince on toast. The serving was quite generous and he all but licked his plate clean. I'm not sure if I'd go back as there are a plethora of cool breakfast joints to try in/around Wellington, but it certainly wasn't a bad experience. And, getting away from the downtown crowd was nice.

First impression, great vibe, cheerful staff and a good menu with stuff this very picky eater would like. The cabinet equally had some yummy food that looked tempting. Unfortunately I was coffee'd out by the time I got to Celcius, but there was a constant stream of people from local businesses' coming in for coffee, so that is always a great indicator.. My meal was a 9/10. The ambience was pleasant and this was mid morning, mid week and it was busy. They also had a variety of coffee beans, plus freshly ground coffee for sale at reasonable prices. Next time in Wellington, I'll make sure I go out of my way just to have a meal here. Well done team !!
