The Rivermill's menu offers a great selection of essential British food and a few foreign favourites all presented in an attractive and appetising style. Try the hamburgers here, they are extraordinary! Additionally, the Rivermill boasts one of the best selection of beers in the area. From local guest ales, a good selection of staple real ales and lagers, to imports including Erdinger on draft, this pub will not disappoint any beer drinker. It is also a great venue for live music, with local talent appearing several nights every week, including Tuesdays open mic night when everyone is welcome to have a go. Highly recommended by myself and a motley crew of artists from St Neots, don't miss the Rivermill, a great British pub.

I can heartily recommend the beef burgers they serve there. The only things that stop it from getting five stars is that the staff could perhaps be friendlier and the food could maybe be prepared quicker, but it is always worth the wait, both in terms of quality and quantity. Nine out of ten for this pub and very much recommended. If anything, I probably go there a bit too often, it is that good!

We got stumbling distance to one of the best pubs in the country. This place is well-regarded by everyone in the region. I've met people here who give up walking distance to their local to drive here and have a good time. That says something. My first night here I made friends, and each time I've been here since I find myself in good company either with neighbors we've met before, or people who know we're new to the area and want to welcome us. I can't begin to tell you how often a quick pint before dinner turns into a long session at King's Arms. I wouldn't have it any other way. These guys truly embrace the concept of being the center of village activity. No TVs, no WiFi, these things distract from the community. You come here to interact with your friends and neighbors, enjoy a good beer, and enjoy living in the company of others. They regularly have events to bring the village out. The most impressive of which was the dinner they hosted on the night of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. They served the exact 10-course menu served in first class that evening, and requested everyone bust out their tuxedos and dresses to mark the occasion in grand fashion. It was a remarkable evening. One disappointment, since I have to list one to feel as though I am being fair, is the wine list. We love the temperanillo, but really none of the others. But we're not here to drink wine, we're here to be social! It makes me a little sad that we don't have this type of drinking culture in the US. If you're not an alcoholic, you're not likely be on a first-name basis with the bartenders at a local watering hole. That's why I love walking in here; everyone knows everyone else, they're always happy to see you, they know what you drink, they pour a tasty pint, and are genuinely good people. I dig it.

And the staff is at the top of their game; know all details of every menu item, and able to make great dinner recommendations with drink pairings. Prices are significantly less than what I would expect to pay in the States for fare of the same quality. Most of the main course items are around £15. Rarely have I been to a restaurant that has the perfect balance of fast and efficient service, and yet never once making a customer feel rushed. I was able to take my time, enjoy my dinner, read a book, and have a relaxing evening. But as soon as I wanted something else, I was immediately helped. The food was absolutely amazing. My only regret is that I could only handle one of the dessert puddings. I am very sad I have to leave the United Kingdom tomorrow, but I'm going to plan a trip back here just to try more of the menu items.

Loaded question, obviously. But I hope that translates to how much we are in love with the Crown Inn. Mark and his staff do their best not only to service the customer, but also to treat that customer as if they were a member of the family. It is hard to comment on any specific meal, as they all have been rather enjoyable. But, what I can say is the staff puts as much care into the preparation of meals as they do in their customers. Each meal on the seasonal menu is carefully thought out, and superbly executed. In addition to food have I mentioned the beer? The tap selection continually rotates with guests beers along with favourites to match your meal.......such as the Erdinger Heifeweizen!!! Finally, my best adivce comes in two forms. First, please go to the website and examine the particular menu for th time you will be present, again it changes. More importantly, this place is well known by locals so please do CALL AHEAD!!!!. I hope I have effectively convinced the average Yelpers that this location is worth their time, and if not.....no worries.......if frees up a reservation time for me!

I tried: - We were given some gorgeous homemade soda bread to start with. It was just out the oven, and was simply lovely. - I shared the Mermaid's Catch for a starter - it involved whitebait, a giant prawn, anchovies and perfect squid, each came with a gorgeous dipping sauce - My main was the Salmon with mint champ, quails eggs, 'leek hay' and lots of yummy bits and bobs. It was delicious...and massive! - I also tried Romeo and Juliet's poison for pudding which was various fresh fruit and popping candy that was then covered with a rum and super-ginger beer. Everyone else seemed to love their food as well. The portions are HUGE so it is worth wearing something loose fitting if you plan to order as far as deserts! The staff are all really friendly and helpful which only makes the whole experience better.
