So we ran into Radu at a grand opening of a fabulous Pizza/Italian restaurant in Southlake in 2018. We spoke to him about the No-Show at my son's wedding reception and his complete disregard for having been paid to perform, not showing up nor refunding the money. He flat doesn't care. We also spoke to the restaurant owners, and they knew he has this tendency, as he had no showed them on previous occasions at events at their home. DO NOT BOOK RADU ( the violin guy)!!! We hired him for our wedding 4 years ago in Houston. I know. Life happened and I'm finally getting around to write a review because on every wedding anniversary, I still remember the upset RADU caused at my wedding! He really is talented at playing the violin and I hate to give a bad review but he did not even care or try to make an honest effort to resolve or appease his customers. We overpaid for services that were not fully delivered or correctly executed as we had discussed and spelled out in our wedding timeline that was provided to him. If you have time reading, here are my overly detailed reasons why I was unsatisfied with his services or lack of: 1. From our initial meetings, Radu was late to both meetings as well as not being very responsive to our emails and texts. It was very hard to get a response from him. We would have to email and text multiple times and it would take several days to a week to respond. 2. It also took a few days before the wedding for Radu to send us the wedding dance remix song we requested and to get it together and it was not exactly as we had discussed but we still tried to work with it and improvise our dance to the song he remixed since we were running out of time. 3. He had told my husband that he had a 2:00pm meeting with another couple at the Same wedding venue as ours and then he was going to start setting up for our wedding at 3pm. That did not happen, he did not show up until 5:40pm, 20 mins prior to our wedding ceremony beginning. 4. The microphones that he had us use for the ceremony had bad feedback and it was cutting in and out and ultimately did not work at all. We were told that the guests could not hear any of our vows. 5. He was not dressed in the formal attire that we had initially requested in our prior meetings. Our wedding was black tie. He was wearing a bright neon orange shirt which he probably didn't have time to change since he arrived to the wedding so late. 6. The order of songs for each bridesmaid and groomsmen pair that he played for the wedding party entrance was played in the wrong order. The wedding party was upset that they didn't get to walk out to the song that they had chose in advance. **7. I was told that he did not listen to instructions from the wedding planner to allow the dancers we hired to perform at the time he was told. The wedding planner had told him to stop singing/playing. Instead, he ignored her and continued to play and sing 2 more songs, which delayed the whole schedule. The person that was announcing the dancers was suppose to help me get dressed in my new outfit, therefore I had to wait. After that, I was suppose to go finish greeting the remaining 12 guest tables in the the outfit. **8. He did not play our requested song during the cake cutting. We were very upset but had to continue cutting the cake. **9. This was the most upsetting part. We wanted him to start doing the laser show first for the party/dance time. Our wedding planner and my husband had told him several times to get it started. I even told him myself that I was worried that the older guests were going to leave, which they did. We wanted a show for the older guests to watch as well but unfortunately not many of them saw it because he was not ready and did not set everything up in advance. He did not have any sense of urgency to full fill our requests, but instead, just continued to sing/play songs he wanted. I also had the special request for him to play the song "Outside" which I was suppose to sing to but that never happened. **10. Another really upsetting thing was that he did not play all the songs we requested. He actually played some songs that we did not like. That was the reason why we even created a song request list for him to play from the beginning. We had requested some mixture of EDM and some hiphop/R&B songs that he had performed but he did not do that. That is why the guests got tired of the same type of music and left the dance floor. 11. He did not return the USB of pictures to My husband and he did not loop our slideshow pictures. It kept on ending so the groomsmen kept on having to press play for the pictures to run again. 12. The gobo lighting of our names on the dance floor was placed sideways and in the corner where not many people could see. 13. During party time, I did not see any party, flashing dance lights as requested going on. It was just dark the whole time. 14. During dinner time, as requested he didn't walk around the reception room playing violin as I can imagine the reason why is because he was not dressed appropriately for the black tie wedding. Save your time and money and hire someone responsible and reliable!! read more

Ok so my brothers and I were at a wedding last weekend and just when we thought we've seen it all, the DJ - also called The violin guy, turns his DJ decks in the middle of the party into this freakin awesome laser show with glowing / light up instruments . This was my older brother's best friend's wedding, and I almost didn't go and boy was I gonna regret it lol... I've never seen anything like this before, period! The people at the party were raving about him the whole time during his show and all night at the hotel after it was all finished and done. The bride and groom said they knew what he was going to do cause they've seen it before, and that's how they got him to their wedding, but the dude did even a better performance than they expected at their wedding last weekend. All and all, everybody was blown away. If I wouldn't have just changed my phone I could've loaded a clip I shot of the guy that night, but I did find him on Instagram and what he does is just too cool for school. I have no thoughts of getting married anytime soon but boy I'll make sure I keep this violin guy in my records, and I would give him double the stars here if I could, the man surely works hard and you can see it. Radu, The Violin Guy, performed at at our wedding and he was superb. To say he performed is really understating all of what he does. He set up lights for ambiance, made mics available for the ceremony and toasts, dj'ed the event, sung and played instruments, took video and photography. Really an unbelievable and impressive feat. Our wedding was in a small venue but I've seen him in a large space and he was definitely able to bring enough presence and energy to that type of event as well. As a side note, he actually builds his instruments and some of his stage set, which further exemplifies his artistic skill set. Radu works in Dallas, TX and the Southern California area. We were soooo LUCKY to meet him at a bridal show we went to in downtown san diego!! Radu is a do everything kind of guy!!! Lighting, he plays instruments (piano, violin, electric violin, has a magical voice, etc), he also is a videographer, DJ, and overall entertainer. He is very kind, friendly, hard working, dedicated, and easy to work with. Open to all suggestions and kept with all the music we requested and kept off all the songs on our "dont playlist." Our guests were astounding by his talent...and thanks to him people are actually saying our wedding was "the best wedding they have ever been too!!" Imagine that! Radu is an amazing artist and performer. He played at a party in my home in August and was incredible. He set up an outstanding backdrop and speaker system, and went on to play non-stop, never even taking a break. His music is diverse in style and he had the entire room dancing all night. I have to say Radu saved our day!!! He was originally just hired to play the violin at the ceremony we had at an outdoor venue which didn't allow any amplified music. His ability is like none I've ever heard- it's tear in the eye, stop and enjoy the moment, beautiful. One word can sum it up- perfection! After that our friend was going to handle the music and MC. Radu stuck around and enjoyed the party like we asked him to. About an hour into the party our sound system went out and we were music-less.... that's when Radu ran out to his van, got his whole program set it up, and DJ'd for us into the night! He literally saved the day and never asked for another penny for his efforts. I was truly touched by what a warm and giving heart he has and shares freely! DO NOT USE... HE MAY JUST CANCEL U AT THE LAST MINUTE!!! I have known Radu since 2011..an amazing talent.. He was building up his career... He did an event for us in 2011 & 2012 & was truly amazing. Slept over at my home.. I fed him some lovely meals.. BIGGGG PARTY/CELEBRATION this past Saturday.. Booked Radu a year in advance.. Confirmed a few months ago.. & all good! Closer to the time texted re.. Playlist etc.. Wouldn't answer the texts until I'd send an exasperated text... Was getting uneasy.. he had never been this way.. Kept on telling me how bizzie he was . but my reservation was "IN STONE" . Asked him when I could expect him at my home to set up.. Replied.. Mid afternoon... Mid-afternoon came.. No Radu.. Called & eventually called back... SORRY BUT I'VE BEEN HAVING TENDONITIS.. CAN'T DO YOUR EVENT.. next thing I see a video of him on line doing amazing antics at a wedding this past weekend.. & then I see another review on Yelp where he DID THE EXACT SAME THING ON a person's WEDDING DAY (see below).. I saw him play at another wedding and thought he was fantastic so I booked him for ours. At first his communication was excellent, but as the date got closer it took him WEEKS to respond to my emails. Then the day before my wedding he had a friend call and say he had an injury and wouldn't be able to play at our wedding. That would be acceptable if he wasn't tagged on facebook playing in another gig the weekend of our wedding. Where do I begin... short of just saying the word AMAZING over and over, I will try and make this a useful review. I had a beautiful wedding with everything one could ever want-- unlimited premium open bar, all the food you could imagine before, during, and even after the wedding was over, the best hotel in Houston... the works. And all everyone could talk about for months after my wedding was over was Radu "The Violin Guy"! He turned our wedding into such a high energy event when appropriate and then back down to romantic when needed-- he knew what to do and when to do it.
