    So many fun skeletons
    Sydney K.

Went here because there's honestly not a lot of restaurants open late in Atlanta. This is my second time here and knew it would be a solid late night dinner spot. We were sat and greeted by our server instantly. Our server was kind and quick. We got the cheese balls appetizer with the jalepanos mixed in. They were super yummy and crispy with the sauce that came with it. We split the patty melt and fries for dinner. I wanted a med-rare cook so the server kindly swapped out the smash patties for a thick patty for the melt. It was a solid patty melt and the crinkle fries were nice and crispy. The ambiance is always super cool here with all the skeletons everywhere. The more you look around, the more funny and wacky decorations you find.

I had a good experience 05/13, sat at the bar and Sarah took good care of me. Very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended good cocktails and food suggestions. I ended up with sliders and a Texas Marg and ended with a mystery shot. I will definitely come back, cool ambiance and vibes, a great place for a girl's night out.

This place was recommended by a local and I am so glad we listened. Hands down one of the best burgers I've had. Although it took some time to get our food and it was relatively empty, I'd definitely say it was worth the wait. We loved the ambience of the restaurant and it's pretty cool that it's an adult only place. Definitely will be back on our next visit!

I came for dinner on a Sunday night and the bartenders were amazing! They were so nice and even though they were busy, they got to me at a decent time. My drink was AMAZING, I actually got two of them because it was so good. I decided to get a burger, which was fine and the fries were good. The only issue was that it wasn't the most filling and I still felt hungry and almost got an additional appetizer. But overall the food and experience was really nice. I'd recommend just 100% get a double burger instead of just one patty lol

DoorDash has been rolling out some amazing deals this week, so I couldn't resist grabbing another burger. I went for the We'Na'Lei'Ya like I promised, and honestly, I think it's my favorite so far! The mix of chipotle cream cheese and pineapple jelly on a savory patty is just too good for words. I also added an order of wings, and let me tell you--the wings are jumbo, perfectly fried, and coated in a thick, sweet-and-spicy sauce that hits just right.

    Wheeeeee!

Overall, this is a very solid place for dinner and drinks. The food is upscale bar and grille, with a great assortment of beers and cocktails. The burgers live up to the hype. The service was very good, and the inside is eclectically decorated with lots to look at and a bit risqué. Note that they have a strict 21 and over policy. They also have two pages of rules/policies that can come off as dickish, but are common sense, and were generated, no doubt, because of past patrons that were dicks themselves.

Seated Immediately, our waitress showed up immediately and brought us water and then took our drink orders. Very nice. I can't remember her name or I would mention her.. we had a party of seven. The decor was really cool. The ambience was casual and a city vibe, It was a fun atmosphere,. the service was impeccable, the food was great. The burgers were amazing for dessert. We ordered funnel cake fries, which were out of this world.. I just had the original cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly (well done ) I ordered a bowl of chili as my side and brought it home so I haven't tried that yet. I ordered the turkey chili because my sister-in-law ordered half-and-half and she said it was a little spicy but she liked it.. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer

greatest drunk junk food area around. we came here for a stand up comedy show, which was an experience in itself, & thought why not? loved all the NSFW decorations & bountiful TVs so my honey could stay up to date on the games. we ordered burgers & i really appreciate how they had a vegetarian option. something i thought was weird was that we couldn't add mayo to our burgers automatically - there were mayo dispensers on the counter that freaked me out. anyway, would still recommend this place to anyone in ATL. fun little spot w nice, greasy eats. rub me for luck!

    Decor, appetizer, great cider beer.

Service was excellent. What a neat atmosphere. Love all the decor. 21 and over only no children. Good was good for bar food. Would definitely go back.

Well first off. The Vortex is an Atlanta must visit. They are well known for their strait forward rules printed on their menu. I've visited several times in the past. When i arrived i found a seat, and was soon visited by Kirsten. She took my drink order and ask if I needed time to explore the menu. However I didnt, as i had decided what i wanted to try, long before arriving. So i settled on the Fat Elvis. Now I love PB,but wasn't sure about that on a burger. I dont really care for plantains either. But I decided to go all in,and try it . Im certainly glad I didnt change a thing. You could taste the sweetness of the pb,but it wasnt over powering. I found the combination very pleasing and taste. The onion rings were great. Now this is a bar so expect low lighting in certain spots in the bar. On the day of my visiting they were blarring music. So if your looking for a quiter setting, this might not be your spot. However i highly recommend you go visit.

Best burgers in Atlanta. Midtown location is open fairly late. Not the same feel as the OG in little five but this place is good. Service is top notch and menu has a little for everyone. Place is clean and everyone is super friendly. Get the tots. The fries are not that good here. Pro tip: get their hot sauce as a side to dip your tots into - it's good. This place has some unusual burgers that get all the attention but don't sleep on the classic. It's a very well done burger.

Great food and service. In the Atlanta area stop by and have a burger cooked how you like it!

I love how the restaurant was set up, the decor and random knick knacks were very cute. Went closer to 2pm on a Sunday, it not very busy. Our server was very attentive and the service was fast. They had really good music playing! I had the Tex melt. It was very filling but the actual burger was very bland and the fries were very thick and a bit undercooked.

    Is there parking? how much?

There isn't a lot associated with the restaurant. There is metered street parking and nearby garages.

Do they still stay open later than 11pm?

They close promptly at 11pm sunday thru thursday. They close at 12:30am on friday and saturday.

If you ordered food online do you have to be 21 to pick it up?

    yes

    Is this place family friendly?

I would say no. They specialize in burgers but they are a real bar so no one under 21 is permitted. It is definitely not for children.

Is this place for adults only? I'm 20 and my boyfriend is 23; we would love to come visit, but we're not sure if it's only for age 21+

Yes, you do. You have to be 21 to enter into the vortex because it’s more of a bar that serves burgers.

Is the outdoor seating pet friendly? We're evacuees from tampa FL and our pup pup can't stay at the hotel alone ?

    I believe so.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.

The amount of prep, technique, and patience required for clarified cocktails definitely isn't lost on me, so I naturally gravitated toward those options. MidCity clearly puts serious effort into the details and the server was well-equipped to discuss and help guide me to the right decisions. I tried the Peanut+Butter, Mangorita, and Pear Matcha Fizz. The Mangorita was the standout for me. The rum brought a deep, complex backbone while the mango rounded everything out with just the right sweetness. Super balanced, layered, and honestly just delicious. The Peanut+Butter reminded me a bit of a Boulevardier variation, with the Cynar adding that earthy, slightly bitter edge that kept it from leaning too sweet. Really interesting drink with a lot going on. The Pear Matcha Fizz was refreshing and easy to drink -- definitely tasty -- but felt a little less complex and developed compared to the other two cocktails I had. Overall, very impressed. Creative menu, thoughtful execution, and a clear respect for craft cocktails. Already planning to go back tonight to work through more of the menu. This is a gem on the cocktail scene in Atlanta and deserves the glowing reviews that it has here on Yelp.
