We have driven past this place a million times coming back to Deerfield from the south shore and decided to stop today. We got the lemon cookie icecream and OMG it was one of the best ice creams we've ever had. Big chunks of cookie and a smooth vanilla lemon base was delicious. In true girl dinner fashion we also got a side of onion rings that were crispy and well seasoned. The woman at the front window was friendly despite how hot it was. Cute little roadside diner with an extensive menu that includes several vegetarian options: I had a veggie melt- a mix of vegetables and cheese on 7-grain bread. My riding partner had a Mediterranean sandwich- veggies, feta cheese, hummus & pickled onions on a pita. They also have 2 veggie burgers, falafel, a tofu dog and a variety of salads. On a warm summer day there's very pleasant dining outside on picnic tables, but if that doesn't suit your style, there are tables indoors as well. read more

This is a very nice, clean, and well decorated little take out, eat in quick service style restaurant. We stopped here on our way to yankee candle based on other reviews. The three of us all ordered BLTS, two light mayo, two large orders of fries, and an order of onion rings. Myself, I thought almost 10 dollars for a BLT by itself with no chips or fries was pretty expensive. Actually it was almost 60 dollars with tip for the food and 3 cans of soda. I'd change the one dollar on yelp to a 2 dollar sign. The food, though, was delicious, and one fry would have been plenty. My only complaint is the light mayo was still alot of mayo. My wife and I and our pup took a wonderful drive up to the Turner Falls area and stopped at the Wagon Wheel for lunch. My wife has eaten here before and really enjoys several of their menu items. The place has embraced the wagon wheel motif. Their menu has enough variety to appeal young and old alike. Plenty of room inside and some nice, dog friendly outdoor eating areas. Order was placed at the front counter- two bowls of chili (a must have here), pulled pork sandwich, gyro platter, side of onion rings (another must have), two chocolate chip cookies (another requirement, they are that good), and two Zero sugar RC Colas. The food was delivered to the table quickly and hot. The chili did not disappoint. It was meaty, thick, filled with beans, vegetables and had just the right amount of heat. My gyro was huge and accompanied by a just as big Greek salad filled with feta and olives. We ended up taking the pulled pork sandwich, Greek salad and a second order of onion rings home because we were stuffed at this point. Anyway if you are in the Turner Falls area, Wagon Wheel is must stop dining destination. read more

Perfectly delicious hamburgers, paddy melts, fries and onion rings. I saw a whole bunch of other sandwiches and items on their menu but I was a craving a bacon cheeseburger so my friend and I came here for a late lunch one afternoon after checking out the Montague Book Mill. Decor is clearly very dated but I find that adds to the charm. More importantly, place is very clean and given that it was a rainy, coldish kind of day outside, we lucked out and snagged a table beside the wrought-iron wood-burning fireplace. Even though it was late in the afternoon, the place surprisingly filled up quickly with other patrons. Foodwise, absolutely no complaints, they do all the old standbys perfectly well and even had Trader Joe's Organic Ketchup on each table. If I'm in the area in the summer, I definitely want to try out their ice cream. read more

What a great find!!! A friend and I were visiting Kringle Candle not far from here and we wanted to stop for lunch. I looked up area restaurants on Yelp and this place had great reviews and was reasonably priced so we headed over. As you walk in there is an order counter and their menus are on the wall. We both picked a patty melt and an order of onion rings and headed over to the dining room to wait for our food. Their dining room is adorable with the old fashioned booths, curtains made from vintage calendar tea towels, old plates and many other fun vintage items. They brought our food to the table when it was ready and it was all very delicious. Our burgers were nice and juicy and the bread they used was delicious, also homemade onion rings. When we were ordering we noticed they had an ice cream case and they told us that they make the ice cream too. I finished off my meal with a coconut almond crunch cone and it was great! Was an beautiful afternoon on a week day, so it wasn't crowded, and the food came out very quick. They have a fun selection of can sodas. I chose a Squirt. It was a great day to sit outside, plenty of picnic tables. The falafel was good, served with crisp fresh veg on top and tadziki sauce which made it eat a little lighter, on a chewy pita like flatbread. The Onion rings are the real deal ! They were hot, juicy, and delicious with a crisp thin coating. I can't give them credit for the day, but it really made it more like a 4.5-5 star lunch, so if it's a sleepy afternoon, enjoy the karma. read more

My wife found this one on Yelp and what a find!!! We needed a quick place for dinner with teens on a ski trip up north and chain restaurant wouldn't do. It's got an old school vibe outside and in. You order aT the counter, take a nUmber and sit in a dining room that looks dated. But whoa! What fooD! My wife said it was the best burger she's tasted in ages. Juicy and cooked perfectly. The onion rings were fresh too. And the buffalo chicken wrap in a pita was good as well. Then the ice cream! Homemade! Stropwafel. And a good enough portion for the right price. All great. Not sure why I'm giving this place 2 stars.. it probably deserves none. We placed our order, were charged the wrong amount, then realized they forgot half of the order (you order at the counter, there isn't much to be confused with). When corrected the order, they realized they don't have some of the things on the menu. We replaced with a veggie burger and a Chilli bowl (please note that this is the only chili mentioned in their menu. It's supposed to have all kind of exciting toppings on it). We got the veggie burger, which was boring and bare for the price. We got a large-looking Chilli without the toppings. Mentioned to the waitress, who scolded us that this was the Chilli. And had we ordered the Special Chilli Bowl (which we did! ) we would have gotten the toppings.. with an angry face from her we finally got the topping too! Hooray! One bite revealed a very tasty Chilli BUT a very thin layer of Chilli and a bowl full of rice. So.. basically 95% rice and a smidge of chili on top. Booo. I won't be back. read more

First time here. We found it on our drive from Vermont down to BDL. Great, diverse menu. The falafel sandwich & the gyro sandwich with hand cut fries were both excellent. You order at the counter, find a seat, and your food is delivered to you. Obviously a popular spot for locals - very family friendly. The decor is great - lots of vintage collections - photos, crewel work, clocks. And can't say enough about the creamy, delicious strawberry rhubarb ice cream! Orders are placed at the front counter, take a number; when the order is complete its delivered to your table. I ordered a tuna fish salad sandwich, on whole wheat toast, lettuce, tomato and a small chili. The chili was very good, a nice flover with plenty of ground beef and black beans. My sandwich was also nicely done, it too was quite flavorful highlighted by artisan whole wheat toast which was extremely tasty. The staff is super friendly, the Burgers and sweet potato fries were very good. It was a big draw for us that they offer a variety of Vegan food. My child had a veggie burger and loved it. The rest of us had the cowboy burger and it was great! The set up is interesting, you order food at the counter when you arrive and they deliver your food to your table. They sell homemade ice cream that was ok. I would not order ice cream again. I ordered peanut butter cup and it was bland, no taste to the ice cream, no peanut butter mixed in the ice cream just some sparse peanut butter cups in a white ice cream that had no flavor. Ordered at the outside window and waited at an outside picnic table. It was a beautiful day to eat outside under the shade of a tree. The onion rings and fries were very good. The burger was a good quality beef. We also had milk shakes - my husband enjoyed his black raspberry shake but I really didn't care for my coffee shake as I thought it was to thin and very foamy and didn't quite taste like coffee. I will say we had a Very long wait after ordering. Other people were also complaining of the wait. They also have inside dining so not sure if that was the delay. "I'm so hungry, I could eat a wagon wheel." Ah, yes, I always mutter that cheesy 1980s commercial phrase when I come here, and I giggle at myself every time I say it. Usually by the time we get here I actually am so hungry that I could eat a wagon wheel! Ok. Best freaking onion rings ever. Both my husband and I agree and say it *every time* we come here. Yesterday we both got burgers with the egg on top and it was just an utter delight! They cooked the egg perfectly so that the yolk oozes everywhere. Hey, don't knock it until you try it! It's actually not that messy, and oozes more so inside the burger and not everywhere. We ate outside on an unusually warm October day (about 70 degrees) but the damn bees were swarming everywhere. They definitely have a bee infestation. The bees (they were definitely bumble bees and not wasps) and acted more like flies as they attacked our food. I can't imagine what is like in the Summer. But since this place has great service and food I will not deduct a star. Eat inside, they have plenty of seating and bathrooms. They have such a large menu, which usually is a red flag, but at The Wagon Wheel, this is not the case. I have yet to try everything on the menu, but next time we will be adventurous and try something new (along with the onion rings!). read more

This is an order at the counter, find a table, then they bring your food to your table kind of place. We started with fried Brussel sprouts. They were good, but to be fair, they were frozen and not fresh Brussel sprouts. The fried pickles were also a hit in our family. We had a burger. It was awesome! We also had parmesan fries.
