Wonderful restaurant. I had a great Main Dish with amazing flavors. A pot roast with vegetables and gravy. It had a delightful puff pasty on top. Probably the most flakey pastry I've ever had! First night in England and I decided to try the Walnut Tree. On Sundays there is a tradition of Sunday Roast. Unfortunately the restaurant was out of it. So I decided to get fish and chips. Wow! The absolute best.! The cod was huge. I share my dinner two two others at the table and I was still stuffed. The green pea much was also delicious. That atmosphere was cozy, wait staff friendly. The food at the Walnut Tree is super tasty. I had the stone bass dish with roasted potatoes and veggies. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce that accompanied the dish was also good. Had the affogato for dessert which topped off the night. The only complaint was the wait for the food. We waited quite a while for food, but I'll give the pub the benefit of the doubt since it was a Friday night and I was with a large group. If you are in the area, I'd definitely give this pub a try. read more

After spending a week in England, this was the best eatery I tried. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They allowed us to sample some of the different beers they serve, which helped us to pick out what we wanted. And I had the pork loin with chorizo , and it was very tasty to say the least. If I get a chance to head to the UK again, this place will be on my list. read more

Food was just okay.... the place was nice, but the people weren't inviting. Usually when I walk into a restaurant and they see me, they greet me or tell me they'll be with me... it took the girl, talking to another worker, going into the kitchen then finally saying "how can I help you." Didn't like the service at all. But rating it a 3 because the food was decent. read more

This place has a menu that changes everyday! However most of the food on each menu is quite good. It's always packed so reservations are recommended. There's a bar and a nice electric fire place so sitting close to it is nice but if they give you a seat far from it, it's quite cold in this facility. The waiting service is not quite fast or attentive so that's not great but it's still worth trying out! read more

We used to come here all the time. As vegetarians and vegans, there was always something tasty for me to eat on the menu. However in the past year, something has changed and I am dissapointed with the menu. The quality of food has seemed to go downhill as well. Really good food. We stayed here for awhile while waiting to get into our house so we ate here a lot. All the staff are really friendly to us and the owner is just superb. Fun and really kind. Only once out of the 10+ times we have eaten here has there been a mistake with our food and it wasn't a big one. I love the local foods and that the menu changes with what's in season. I would love if they made a mixed drink menu but that's the only downside to eating here and its just my preference. As for staying in the rooms I do wish they had a mini fridge for the room and hairdryers but its a nice place overall. read more

Best pub I've eaten at during my time in England. This place is packed during dinner time, so I suggest getting there a little early. They serve Adnams beer which is fantastic considering most pubs around Bury St Edmunds serve Greene King. Worlington is also a beautiful little village and I recommend just driving through if you are in the Suffolk area around Mildenhall. read more

This place is awesome! Everything i have ordered has been above my expectations. They have a rotating menu which keeps it interesting. Beer is cold, price is reasonable. They also have breakfast which is by far the best english breakfast i've had so far. Make reservations during peak times or you will not get a seat. read more

One of our favorite places! The menu changes frequently, but always features British staples such as fish and chips. The menu is always varied, and I usually end up ordering something I don't normally pick, and end up loving it! We took out of town guests here for New Year's Eve and it was perfect - my duck was outstanding and full of flavor. The desserts are wonderful as well. The Walnut Tree makes for a great date night, and also a great place to entertain guests. read more

I see my initial review was removed so I'll post it again. Everyone raves about this place and I have no idea why. When we walked in, instead of a "hello" our greeting was "we're really busy". Um, okay. Place was quiet and only a few cars out front and only one other family in the area we were sitting. Food was fine, nothing to write home about. Went for breakfast. Overall, average menu, average coffee and average meal. We weren't greeted when we first walked in, but eventually someone spoke to tell us they were "very busy". It wasn't busy and I don't really see how that is my problem or how that's a suitable way to greet a customer. Most likely won't return unless I really have to.
