I would recommend the Cornish Gold Cyder - soft, refreshing, deceptively easy to drink, just watch out when you stand up! Doombar and St Austell beers are also served, and good. We also ordered some food - just chips and some bread and olives to keep hunger pangs at bay. Chips were chunky hand cut chips and pretty good. Bread rolls were served warm with olive oil and balsamic, a dish of green pitted olives and a side salad. When we were there they were playing live music inside the pub and outside there were hordes of kids enjoying the play area. A great little family pub.

It is a bit of a hike from the station, but it was worth it, especially as it is a really old pub (though the ceilings are low, so watch out if you are tall like me). Yeah, this pub is very British, and pretty awesome, but I came here because of the name (and there is a story behind it as well).

It did change names to the appallingly bland 'New Inn' at one point, but has the old name back now. They also believe the pub is haunted. The pub itself is a very nice dark woody old style looking pub with quite a low roof (I has to duck slightly). They serve a handful of good Cornish ales and have a few tables outside, where you take in the sun weather permitting. The do food but I had already eaten. In short, this was the kind of pub I was hoping to find in Cornwall.

The Smugglers Den Inn is a 16th century thatched inn with family, beer garden, childrens play area and ample parking. The beer garden is where we like to crash and relax. While the kids play on the apparatus we chill with a ool drink in the sun and order from the menu full of lovely food and they always have plenty of specials on the board all made using the freshest local ingredients. It is situated in a little village called Trebellan, near Cubert, less than than 15 minutes from Newquay. You approach down a steep, high sided road which is typically Cornish and the pub is right before you and very welcoming. They have regular live entertainment and also have an annual Real Ale and Pie Festival which is is it's 9th year. It's definitely worth pulling off the beaten track and seeking it out for a refreshing treat.

No offer of coffee as they wanted the table and we were asked to move to the bar. The table had been booked in advance and was a way for 3 friends to meet and have a chat. I did not expect to be hurried or moved. All could have been solved by a sign put outside saying all tables for food were full. For thus reason I won't be going again despite the delicious food!

We were greeted as we walked in and seated at a nice table. Drinks and food were ordered and didn't take too long before we were served our meals. My fish & chips were cooked perfectly and was really nice. My husband enjoyed his pasta carbonara, our friend had chicken fajitas (forgot to take a picture) and said it was really lovely, and my son had fish fingers and chips. There is also another car park opposite which has ample parking should it be needed. The rates are reasonable. YOU WOULD BE HARD PUSHED TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE WITH A BETTER RATE CONSIDERING THE TOWN IS AN ACTUAL HOLIDAY RESORT!!! We also had a balcony room and although it was overlooking the car park area there were also views over the countryside. As for the breakfast, we couldn't complain, we were up early everyday of our stay to make the most of the surf so never missed it! The hotel also has a 4 star rating so they must be doing somehting right! Anyway, we've booked again for next year and will probally turn up for NYE also

This is a quaint hotel right in the centre of Perranporth. The price per room isn't at all cheap…read moreand this does not reflect the fact that the whole hotel is very dated. There are several staircases and no lift so be prepared. I can only comment on the room I stayed in, and though it was clean it was vey small, especially as they knew we need space to fit a travel cot. The room did have a balcony which was good but our view was just of the car park. I believe there are rooms with a sea view though. The staff were very friendly and helpful so absolutely no complaints there. Breakfast was good, however the time slot in which it was served was very short which was a little inconvenient. The hotel has a restaurant should you want to eat in, though we didn't try it. There is also a pub/bar at the front which was o.k. There is a car park and their website says it has enough room for all guests not true. There was a cycling event on while we were there and the hotel was fully booked and there certainly wasn't enough room (even if you all park blocking each other in which is what happened every night).
