My sister, who lives in Amsterdam, found this gem of a place for us, a family of 4, including twin 4-yr olds. The place just opened in Nov. 2012 after much renovation yet keeping with the original building that housed an actual weavery. We stayed in the Suite which is on the 3rd top floor which has 2 queen beds, a kitchenette, toilet and a bath and a separate shower room.
Our 3 week stay during Easter time was excellent partly due to the fact that the B&B owner Bettina (and her family) was such a good host and made us feel like family. Though we opted not to have the breakfast package, she, an avid and excellent baker, would leave us homemade breads, cookies and muffins from time to time. She even surprised my kids with little gifts too.
Everything in the room was of top notch quality-all the fixtures, toiletries, coffee maker and even the various organic tea bags that were provided for us. The room is very tastefully done and very easy on the eyes. The climb to the 3rd floor room was, at first, very intimidating as it is very very steep, in the very traditional Dutch way, but within the next couple of days, oddly enough, we got used to it!
As for the location of this B&B, it is super convenient to all the local spots, as well as stores, restaurants, bars, bakeries, museums, parks...if not within walking distance, the very convenient tram stops are within minutes by foot.
We cannot wait to visit Amsterdam again and of course, stay here again! read more
