Dr. Jim uses a proven technique called applied kinesiology (Google applied kinesiology for more information) to find out what is occurring in your body and how to fix it. His treatments are thorough and he is always able to fix what is broken in a calm and soothing way that often results in immediate release of pain and improved range of motion. Dr. Jim is patient and listens to you, as well as your body to address whatever the issue might be. He has never failed to help me feel better when I see him. I am still amazed with all of the new tests that he tries on you to make sure you are good to go before leaving his office. He really takes the time with you and cares. On the day of his appointment, I unexpectedly developed a vestibular migraine and was extremely dizzy. I could not safely drive my child there. I contacted the office, explained that I was sick, and asked to reschedule. I did not blow off the appointment or simply not show up. I was then told I would have to pay a $99 cancellation fee. Apparently their normal cancellation fee is $125, which they reduced to $99 for some reason. At NO POINT when I scheduled this appointment was I verbally made aware of this cancellation policy. We had never even stepped foot in this office. My son had never been treated there, and I had never signed any paperwork agreeing to this fee. Many businesses will even give you a break the first time and make it clear that if it happens again you'll be charged. Not this place. Instead, I received an actual bill in the mail addressed to my FOUR YEAR OLD SON for $99 for a "Missed Appointment." Absolutely ridiculous. I called the office and spoke with Mindy. I explained that nobody had informed me of this fee when I scheduled. She said the policy was supposedly emailed to me along with paperwork I was supposed to sign. I told her I never received that email or paperwork. In a very condescending tone, she told me she could find the confirmation showing that it had been sent. She continued telling me that because I cancelled that day due to being sick, they weren't able to fill the appointment and someone else would have "happily" taken my son's spot. She also told me they "understand things happen," but essentially I could pay the bill or not pay it. After being spoken to so condescendingly, I told Mindy that sending a brand new patient a cancellation fee when they haven't even stepped through the door is a great way to lose brand new patients. I told her I would be writing a review about my experience, and she hung up on me. Extremely rude. I've actually heard good things about the doctors here, which is why I considered bringing my son in. Unfortunately, the way this office is run and the way I was spoken to completely changed my mind about all of them. We weren't even patients yet, and they're already sending my four year old son bills in the mail. This place is insane. I would never step foot in this office after this experience, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to other parents. These chiropractors are a dime a dozen, and I happily found someone else who is wonderful. I encourage parents not to put up with this nonsense.
