I had a spa session with massage and facial and it was excellent! I swam every day and used the sauna facilities. The locker room and pool area was kept very clean and dry. The lady attendant was fastidious in keeping the changing room dry and clean. There was a bit of an incident where one of my favorite vintage pieces I sent off to laundry was not returned to us when they dropped off our clean clothes. I had actually been at the entrance to the hotel when the cleaner dropped it off and I verbally acknowledged to her that I could see my laundry because of my vintage piece and she stated they'd be delivered to my room shortly. Front staff sent back an empty hanger amongst our other clean clothes and had lost it. We found it on the floor amongst boxes behind the reception desk. They returned my item, and apologized personally. Not a big deal and glad it was resolved.

The downside of this hotel is the aggressive pricing for wedding packages, meaning that there are many wedding parties going on. I counted six in two days, which brings a lot of drunkards to the hotel, which does not help if you're seeking a quite place to relax. Will I ever get back to this hotel, no.

It was very important to reserve your tables ahead of time, but having a reservation we were able to eat and drink with no problems. The food was made with care, and was very flavorful. The casks were treated with respect and therefore the beer poured well. Hopefully we make it back to Masham, and if we do we would stay at Kings Head.

I had a bacon and cheese burger, certainly not the best I have had but OK. Feed back on other things we had - lasagne was good, fish pie needed a little more fish, trio of pies had too much pastry, wild boar burger was jut like a sausage patty and the Sunday lunch was very good.
