Dont have your kids party here! My friend decided to have her child's 7th birthday party on Friday 16th August. The quality was absolutely poor! First of all, the toilets are absolutely disgusting, I had a 6 and 2 year old with me and my 2 year old is currently toilet training. She asked to go to the toilet and I could not believe how disgusting it was, I told her to do it in her pull up. There was no toilet roll either and when my 7 year old was taken by his dad, there was blood around the toilet seat. I held mine till I got home. They were supposed to provide food and drink their idea of food was some sandwiches with cheese just cut in big halves, the lady also came with the food from across the yard UNWRAPPED (bearing in mind she was crossing path with horses, faeces, flies etc) and also with A DOG underneath her arm! No, no one was going to eat that. Health??? And they still didnt bring any drinks! Then we were told they were short staffed so a young girl who I think helps out there had to sort out the kids helmets for a horse ride. When we finally saw an adult member of staff we asked if she could check the helmets on the kids as a kid had sorted it out in the first place. I could go on and on the kids were none the wiser since my friend (thank god) had brought some extra food of her own, but I will never ever go back to a disgusting place like that again. Me and my 3 friends booked in for a hack & BBQ through groupon and were extremely excited about this! The first date we booked got cancelled the day before our hack and I only found out because I rang to confirm, we booked another date however then found out we could not have a BBQ as it was broke. We arrived at the riding centre to be told they were running half an hour late however w got invited in and got our hats on ready. We got to choose what horse we wanted, they were all very beautiful and well looked after, tack was clean and fitted properly, there was a young girl, I'd say about 9 who was very bossy and cruel to the horses which I did not like at all! However the other lady was wonderful and led the hack very well, I loved it so much, the route was very beautiful and thefact we got to trot the fields was fabulous. We headed back and got to lead to horses back to the stables & said bye to them :( we then got to see the new foal who was gorgeous, all the staff were great apart from the little girl with a big attitude! Apart from a few mistakes the riding centre is great and I would return happily. read more

Disappointing own a pony day! Dirty uncared for environment, rubbish everywhere, empty dog food tins left on table and chair. No café as on website. No-one turned up to greet us at the time they specified. Staff with the exception of one particularly nice lady who seemed to be doing everything for everyone, were disinterested, bored and didn't speak to us- one particular girl spent the whole time texting. A bit of grooming largely unsupervised, some sweeping and a 20 minute horse ride, lots of waiting around- this was all over a four hour period. No quizzes, saddling up or anything else stated on the website , which is incredibly misleading. there was a party on at the same time which meant there was a lengthy wait for riding. Very disorganised and certainly not geared up for children- not well known for their patience skills!! It was a groupon but still extremely disappointed, if you don't want to do it, can't be bothered to do it- my advice is don't do it!! read more

We booked a party with these stables for my daughters 5th birthday. We arrived for the party with 6 of her friends to find the gates locked and a note to say that they were closed until the 12th aug due to a bereavement. I can be sympathetic towards a bereavement, however to not contact or get someone to contact us about this was unacceptable, futhermore their telephone was switched to an answerphone message which said it was unable to except anymore messages. I was left with 7 very upset children who I then had to make alternative arrangements for. We did manage to book a very short notice pony party at another stables but this cost us a whopping £175 for the privilege!! I am now faced with the challenge of trying to get my money back from westbridgeford, which is proving difficult. I sincerely hope that other family's are contacted so as other children don't face the same disappointment mine did! read more

Don't go there! toilets filthy, staff although pleasant are clueless about how to tack up correctly. My daughters went for a prepaid for 3 hour hack which turned out to be a joke a BAD joke. Firstly no one to meet them, then girth far too big for horse would not tighten up as on last holes when asked for smaller girth girl said " Oh I think this one likes it loose" Upon finding another girl she found smaller girth. Bridle miles too big the bit did not fit properly and needed to be altered. The 3 hour hack was for a bare 40 minutes and was told horses cant do 3 hours total rubbish why advertise and sell 3 hours when obviously the staff cant be bothered to fulfil the ride. Owner moaning about mums bringing screaming kids to the centre where does she think her revenue come from. read more

I have been wanting riding lessons for around 5 years now but havn't seemed to find the rite place until now! I have had a few lessons here and would deffinetley go back again. I already have a favorite horse :) and am no longer afraid of them. The instructor I had was very calming and seemed excellent at the skills required to be a successful instructor. I have been welcomed very much every time here and have also been treated in a proffesional way. I wish to carry on here for as long as it takes to become a very strong rider and I have every faith that will happen here. Therefore I would reccomend this place to everyone! Especially nervous riders such as I was. Top place! read more

We booked a party with these stables for my daughters 6th birthday. The week leading to her party no one was answering calls and the main gate was closed to a bereavement. Evenually found someone who informed us the party will still continue but they are running late. The party before us was an hour late due to the owners only arriving late. The whole riding centre is run down and the facilities needs a bit of cleaning! I refused to use the toilets as it was dirty and disgusting! Very disspointing !! read more

Just had a pony day experience at these stables and what a shambles. More of a day at the stables then anything to do with riding, very disappointing. Not organised, 2 hours shorter than advertised, not enough hats for the group, no instruction and less than 10 minutes sat on a horse (pony day?) and there wasn't even enough horses for the group to ride together! Absolute rubbish and don't get me started on the filth of the toilets! Avoid at all costs!! read more

i have been at this riding school for many years and i find that the staff and people on the yard are very friendly. they are always welcoming and the horses are always looked after.i currently keep my horses here and find that they are very happy and relaxed here. the owner of the yard is always friendly and very co-operative when it come to it. i love being at this yard and have enjoyed my time her and looking forward to many happy years here x read more
