I wanted to bring a local spirit or two as gift for some friends. I am not a fan of neutral grain spirits and a lot of the distilleries are focused on that. LA Distilling is one of the few places that has whiskeys and apparently makes them on site and The Whiskey Store is their retail front. Google maps will take you to their warehouse area, pull into the parking spot but keep going. The storefront is a little bit off center from the distillery. I went on a weekday so it was quiet, like in an eerie way. The front door was locked and I ended up going around back through their warehouse. That's where I ran into someone finally who told me to go around back, no just follow him. Their showroom is nice-in need of a little dusting but nice. I asked what was good or popular and he said everything was, not super helpful so I ended up buying two bottles of their bourbon. I got to try it after I presented it to my friend-it was ok. It definitely needed some more mellowing. read more

Good spot to support local whisk(e)y. Went in to the store that is connected to Los Angeles Distillery. Looking to find some new whiskey for sippin while I play my vinyl (grown man status) Was helped by Blake who's really knowledgeable about the inventory. Those place has whiskey, whisky, rum, vodka, etc. I left with a bottle of Glen LA and High Rye. The High Rye had to be tapped from the barrels and bottle and came with a bit of a wait, but is some of the smoothest stuff I've ever tasted. Highly recommended spot. read more

Called during business hours. No answer. Left msg. Two days passed and still no return call. Visited store sitting posted open hours, and it was closed, as was side door and loading dock. Rang door bells, knocked, no answer. To bad; was looking forward to buying their award-winning whiskey. read more

First things first- COVID regulations are followed and they have hand sanitizer galore (hello they have alcohol by the barrels!). I walked in looking for a local bottle for my boyfriend who will be moving to LA tomorrow and I wanted to get him something local and WOW! Not only is their award winning whiskey delicious, Blake, who helped me out, was SOOO helpful and spoke to me like we were old friends. A very personal and interesting tour. I've gone to many distillery tours and this ranks amongst the best! The founder is friendly and a lot of fun with great stories to tell. Most importantly, the whiskey is interesting and very, very good. The triple cask single malt was my favorite as it was unique and had an interesting backstory that enhanced the taste. Overall, I've been looking for good craft whiskey in LA since moving from Colorado and this seems to be the place for me! read more

I don't know much about single malts or blended but they were super helpful and helped me by putting together a tasting box of single malt scotches! This was their first tasting box and they went above and beyond to make it special. Blake and Luis were there to ensure I got the perfect gift. Great service, great prices, and my friend loved it, especially the triple cask 3 year old single malt. He said for a young whiskey it was impressive! read more

The store is located at the Los Angeles Distillery where you can peak in the back and see where all the magic happens. When I walked back I met the owner who was a very nice and welcoming man.
