At a glance, The White Company looked completely amazing and pristine from the outside. In fact, even when you venture inside it is rather lovely. I was after a gift for a friend who had just moved into a new flat and wanted to buy her something a little special and a notch above the usual homeware gifts I would normally opt for.
Well, to state the obvious, practically everything is white which wasn't surprising but for me personally, on a closer look around the shop, if I decked out my flat with pieces from here, it would maybe look a little too well presented and I probably wouldn't want anyone to come in and get it grubby! From towels, cushions, clothing, bathroom accessories and bath and body products there is a huge range of bits and pieces but all a bit too show-home for my liking.
It is also fairly expensive at over £13 for a soap dispenser and the staff weren't particularly friendly and seemed to be eyeing me in a slightly disapproving manner which one never appreciates do they?
I really do think that it is a matter of personal taste as to whether you will like the shop though. All in all, a good store with a huge variety of great quality homewares. Just a little too bland for my liking. read more
