This is a neat little business located just outside of Kejimkujik National Park. If you are approaching from the north of the province, you will need to pass the turnoff to the park and drive for an additional minute. The minute is worth it. The business consists of two buildings - the General Store and the Restaurant. First, the General Store. The General Store seems to cater to the campers, with ice cream, snacks, basic foodstuffs and various camping needs (i.e. air pumps, tick removers, etc). Please note, though, that this is a General Store and not a convenience store. This is a great little place to get some snacks or items you may have forgotten to pack for camping......but if one of those forgotten things is cigarettes or lotto tickets (as examples), I believe you will be heading elsewhere. This is more of an old-school general store. Second, is the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and bright, with lots of windows and there is a great deck is the weather is allowing you to eat outside (certainly wasn't my situation, but hey - maybe you will have better luck). The restaurant has a small menu - I believe for lunch/dinner there were about 8 options. They have a good selection of craft beers. None of the lunch/dinner options were a salad. This, again, wasn't an issue - but it has been a really long time since I have been to a restaurant that did not have a salad on the menu. I had the fish and chips. It was tasty. My fish could have been cooked a tad longer, but otherwise it was a great meal. My counterpart had the club (which could also be described as chicken breast burger with bacon). He thought it was pretty good but preferred my fish and chips. The staff in both buildings were friendly and welcoming. read more

We loved the girls that ran this place, they had good beer & food, and that said a lot, as they are the only place to eat in the area, and our expectations weren't high. We really enjoyed both meals we had there -- grab a fresh baked cookie on the way out! read more

The Restaurant is clean and quaint with a super friendly staff. It's pretty rural so the selection is limited but appealing. There is a good selection of craft beers and the small wine list has some not bad wines. The fish and chips were good. The fish very fresh, the batter crispy, cooked perfectly. The fries were fine.
