Boy am I lucky. My son and soon to be daughter in law gifted us with a HUGE assortment of goodies. Pecan Pie...yum. These huge caramel pecan cookies...yum yum. An assortment of flavors of fudge. And turtles and who doesn't like candy. Not a thing here that we don't love. The only negative is they are far away from us. What a treat!!!!!

none of the vegetable plants purchased thrived I've had the melon plant for about 2 months and it's still the same size not growing at all. tomatoes are all miniatures as well as the peppers even with daily watering it's not the only thing that's not growing though other seeds that I planted are growing good either not a good sign and perhaps not even their fault. the one thing that did seem to thrive was the collard greens but the earwigs got to several of them before I could control them but it still seems to be doing okay. pepper plants bought in Lancaster

Lots of locals know this as the former Smith farms. Still the same great farm vegetables and fruit with lots of jellies and fresh baked goods. There is a real difference in great taste and smells of items sold here and those in the grocery stores. The staff seemed to be students mostly, eager to help. The ice cream store is still attached, but the flavors seemed lacking and the atmosphere kind of sad. We passed and went to UDF instead.

This is a great spot near Obetz where you can pick up pumpkins, fresh corn on the cob, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, and other veggies. They have a bakery, ice cream, and local Ohio made items throughout. It was a great little stop this afternoon when looking for fresh local produce.

I was frustrated with the area's weekly farmers markets this year - mostly not anyone's fault, but due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there were fewer vendors, and the proximity of that many people made me uncomfortable, so I decided to check out some of the area's "farm markets," which weren't as limited in terms of open hours. Boy am I glad I did. Smith Farm Market is not very close to where I live, but it's worth the extra time for travel. First off: tomatoes. Being able to walk in and right there is a big basket of Brandywines, my favorite summer treat. An assortment of other heirloom varieties, so many different ones they require a chart with descriptions so you can decide what to get. Big fat green tomatoes to sate my fried green tomato addiction. Boxes of Romas and San Marzanos to turn into tomato confit. I was in heaven. Then the rest of the vegs. I roasted whole beets for the first time (a bit of a pain, to be honest, but I enjoyed the challenge.) Fresh Brussels sprouts well ahead of Thanksgiving. Potatoes, onions, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers - you name it. Finally the baked goods. Someone else here said the pies are frozen - well, if they are, they're better frozen pies than I've had anywhere else, ever. And the prices are amazing, especially given the quality. I'm in danger, because they offer a "pie lovers" card that nets you a free pie after purchase of 10. (Half pies count, too, so you can tell yourself "it's only half a pie.") The lemon crunch pie is the BEST (think lemon meringue pie, only with a crumble topping instead of meringue.) Sweet corn biscuits are delightful topped with honey and butter, although they tend to fall apart. The people are very nice and helpful, and when I was accidentally overcharged for something they apologized and quickly made it right. I'm dreading the end of the produce season, but I will definitely be back next year. May even wean me off of the limited farmer's markets completely.

best corn in all of ohio. fresh baked pies every day, fresh donuts on the weekends. Fresh produce, especially the types you can't get from your local Kroger. most of their stuff is grown in a farm in ohio, and they have an incredible bakery, an ice cream stand, and for fall time they had an apple cider slushee. I love if there.

I found this place by accident and I'm glad I did! They have fresh seasonal produce so you have to go frequently to get what is in season. Their pies looked really good and must be a top seller, since I saw so many people getting them. I wish I tried the apple cider slushy and think I will next time I visit. This place is worth a a visit to get fresh veggies and other produce that is in season.

Virginia when the winter gets colder to maintain their stock and tomatoes are brought in from Georgia and Florida. I am a firm believer that good food is all about good ingredients and I am constantly underwhelmed by the selection and quality of the produce at my nearby Giant Eagle on whittier street and trendy Kroger's in the Brewery District. This week at Evelyns I got some of the biggest and hardy sweet potatoes for just .79 a pound and equally delicious tomatoes for 1.99 a pound. I also had my eye on the abundant and fresh supply of sweet onions, zuchinni, cabbage, and squash. Again the quality is superior to local grocers and prices are competitive. If you are not familiar with this part of town it can be tricky to find, south on parsons avenue just beyond the old schottensteins. The address is Marion rd but it is not marked, You will see E. Barthman on the west side, and Evelyn's is on the opposite side. Hours are Mon-Saturday 9:00-5:30 from Dec-March and 9:00-5:30 Mon-Sun April-November. I often call ahead to see what they have each week. I am never disappointed!

It's way out there, and there's not much signage, so keep your eyes peeled for the market. Check in there and get your baskets weighed (bring your own, or pay 25 cents apiece for plastic bags.) Then drive out to the field, way in the back. Plenty of good berries on Memorial Day weekend, and in maybe half an hour we got 4 pounds. Take them back to get weighed, and pay $2/pound. Or, you know, $5/quart for pre-picked... Baby K was able to pick some, Dada's knees and back held up for most of the time, and we didn't collapse from heat exhaustion. They only have a few other things in the farm market in the spring: jam, noodles, cold drinks. I assume there is a lot more in late summer. We had a good time, got lots of berries for not much money, and have plenty to eat and cook with till ours come in.
