Great service, good food, comfortable atmosphere, music and sports on TV, not pretentious like somr other places in Hintonburg.

Good spot! Comfortable, and reliably good food. Try the steak sandwich or minimalist nachos! Ask for a "woody" (reallllly large beer)

We ordered and food came out in a reasonable time. We got some cheese curds to start and they were delicious. There's something about those little fried nuggets of comfort. I got a salad that was fully loaded. It was big and fresh. Impressive for a bar! Pizza was okay. I expected more, but hey, this isn't NY! I would go back if I was looking for a cozy bar scene. Lots of screens. Great service.

My husband and I had dinner at Pubblico and it was great…read more I had the Italian Beef Dip with fries ($16) and my husband got the Carbonara Pasta ($22) and added sausage (additional $4). My beef dip was fantastic! It was stuffed with tender fall apart delicious braised beef. The meat was lean too, no gristely nor fatty bits, so I was a happy camper. It also had pickled vegetables in it (cauliflower, celery, green beans, pepper, and carrots). The pickled veggies were a tad too salty for my liking, but pickled vegetables tend to be. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I really enjoyed my sandwich. I didn't dip it into the beef drippings because I hate soggy bread and I don't like beef fat. The fries were excellent as well. They were hot, crispy, hand-cut and fresh. Maybe a tad over salted for my liking, but by no means excessively so. My husband had ordered penne as his pasta, but ended up getting spaghetti. Not a big deal, he didn't send it back, but of course spaghetti is a bit more difficult and less graceful to eat than penne, lol. He also said that the majority of the sausage (which was an add-on) was in a clump at the bottom of the dish, and not evenly distributed. He did enjoy the taste of his pasta and overall liked his meal. I had a taste, and creamy-sauced pastas are not my jam, so I wasn't a fan, but it's not something I would ever order. I did find it a bit on the salty side as well. Service was very good. Our server was Andrea and she was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Our waters were refilled when empty without prompting, and my husband was asked if he wanted another beer when he finished his first one. She also checked up on us and asked us how we were liking the food. We also had a man check up on us. I'm not sure if he's the owner or chef or who, but I appreciated it all the same. Decor is definitely pub-like. Lots of big screens playing sports and a large bar with bar stools lining the front. Washrooms are downstairs. Pubblico is where Agave Mexican Grill used to be. It's relatively new, I'd say within the last year or so. I'm glad to have such good eats within walking distance from my home. Will be back for sure! :)

The Bar formerly known as Bonkers is now known as Blackpepper. Don't be fooled by the fancy new…read moresign and the coat of paint, this is still definitely Bonkers. Bonkers is a sports bar, emphasis on the bar part. They do serve food, although I haven't eaten anything there since the name change so I don't know what the food is like anymore. This place is a locals bar, but be warned it's locals in the "sketchy folk drinkin" sense than in the family sense. The beer isn't all that cheap and the selection is "meh" while the atmosphere isn't all that great (feels like a small town bar, complete with neon signs advertising Budweiser). The only redeeming quality is that they have Karaoke on friday nights, which is usually good entertainment. The Karaoke tends to attract the student crowd so is usually a lot of fun. Oh and young men beware, there tends to be cougars present.

I find it unusual the subtitle of this place is "Sports Bar & Eatery" because sitting in there, I…read morefelt incredibly uncool. The atmosphere is very hip, low-lit, and very thoughtfully decorated. I actually kept noting to my friends how much I loved the interior design of the place. I can see from my fellow Yelpers that this place used to be a little more hokey? Ha! Anyway, we were here on a Friday on what appeared to be a short-staffed night because our waitress seemed irritable. We let her know we were expecting more people but she didn't try that too hard to accommodate us (To be fair, my tardy friends had not made a reservation). Eventually we were able to spread across three booths so it worked out fine, but we were unable to move tables because of the pending karaoke setup. Musical chairs aside, the food was terrible to start with. My bf and I ordered the bruschetta and it was awful, amateur. Salty! Our entrees saved the night: he had pizza and I had wings, and we both enjoyed them. My friends complained about the calamari, noting they were rubbery. Couldn't take any pictures because of the dim lighting of the place. Anyway, based on the ambience of the place, I would return for a drink, but keep it intimate.

Came for lunch at 1pm on a Saturday and there was a 30 minute wait. There isn't much space to wait,…read moreso it good that they take your number down and call when your table is ready so you can walk around a bit. We missed the brunch menu as I think they stopped serving that around 1pm. The lunch menu was mostly sandwiches, and I had the crispy chicken sandwich with half side of fries and half salad. I love that they offer you the option of half/half. The portion size is definitely on the smaller side but the sandwich with side was only $13 and I prefer the smaller portion as I've been trying to control my portions better. The chicken sandwich was ok - the chicken could have been more seasoned / better coating but it wasn't bad.

I've had The Third on my list of places to try for some time now (pretty much since they opened in…read morelate 2017/early 2018), and finally got around to it. The place is always very busy and I now I understand why. The food is delicious, service is good and the prices are great. My husband and I were both off work on a Friday, so we decided to head there for a late-ish lunch. We got there close to 2pm and it was packed indoors. The patio was relatively empty, and that's where we opted to sit. The patio started to fill up as we were there. I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries ($12) and my husband got the Brisket Plate ($13) which came with corn, mac and cheese and some toast. The portions are smaller than at most restaurants, but I actually prefer the lower price and smaller portions. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the slaw had carrots, jalapeno and celery. They were generous with the sliced pickles. I asked them to hold the mayo, which they did. I hate wet sloppy sandwiches, so it was perfect without the mayo. The fries were thin shoestring fries, my favourite type. They were crispy and so tasty. My husband also enjoyed my fries, lol. I also gave him a bite of my sandwich and he liked it too. My husband loves his Brisket Plate. I had a taste of the brisket and he gave me a lean piece because he knows I hate fatty meat and it was good. I also tried some of the mac and cheese and I liked that too. Apparently there was sweet potatoes in the mac and cheese, but I didn't taste it. I like how they give you water in a bottle, so you don't have to ask for refills (unless you drink more than the bottle, in which case I'm sure they'd give you a second bottle). Service was lovely. Although the patio is at the side of the restaurant and is next to a parking lot, the ambiance was good. I liked that some tables were in the shade (ours) but they had some in the sun for those who like that. The inside ambiance is more drinking hole-like, lol. It was loud and crowded. I preferred the patio environment. The Third is where The Blackpepper Urban Pub used to be. They actually kept one of the awnings that you can see from the patio; it says Blackpepper. The parking lot next door has limited parking spots and some are marked as reserved for SuzyQ (the donut shop) and others for QpiXXX (which used to be an "adult entertainment" store and it might still be, but now mostly sells bongs and other cannabis paraphernalia). Some spots are unmarked, so maybe customers of The Third can park there (?) I've seen Circle K customers parking there. Circle K is the business immediately west of the parking lot. We walked there, so I'm not entirely sure about the parking situation. My only regret is having waited this long to try The Third. We will definitely be returning. I want to try their Veggie Burger next :)
