As its name suggests, this shop specialises in selling cut-price new books and you can pick up some…read morereal bargains here just so long as you are not looking for the latest releases. There is a nice range of childrens' books and an excellent range of cookery books, often in hardback. There is also a modest paperback and hardback fiction range as well as biography and history. Upstairs is a smaller room with various non-fiction titles and a small selection of poetry books. This is definitely a shop for browsing. It's unlikely to have exactly what you are looking for (although I have been pleasantly surprise on occasions) but I defy you not to find something here worth having. It's open on Sundays and deservedly busy.

The shop is quite narrow but long which does create bottlenecks near the doors at times. Other wise it is a very well laid out store. The staff are generally friendly and cheerful and upstairs in the media section are very knowledgable and helpful.
I was so excited when it was originally announced that this shop was coming to Grimsby because our…read morehouse loves books. In general I am still pretty grateful for them coming but there are a few bugbears to contend with. The store is fairly large - but not as large as some others in the chain in other towns and cities. What space they have doesn't seem to have been put to good use. There are high book cases all round the perimeter of the shop as expected but the floor space within is taken up by a hotch potch of displays, low book cases, tall book cases, tables, all sorts of random displays - it looks messy. It's also very difficult to find things and when its busy it's a nightmare to get around and view things. It's a shame because they do have some fantastic books and generally speaking the prices are lower than most of the competitors but sometimes it's just a pain to try to find what you might want. The staff are pretty good, usually knowing the subject quite well and are helpful.
