I've enjoyed multiple stays at Big Cedar and ate here for the first time recently. I'm glad that we did so, just to check the box, but wouldn't need to return. Our bill for two people was between $250 and $300. The prices are high and opaque to the point that it was annoying. For example, we were charged $5 to split a $15 salad. Had our server given us a heads-up, we wouldn't have felt surprised when the bill arrived. We also would have ordered differently. Finally, the charcuterie board was oversized and underwhelming. Wonderful service. Very classy fine dining spot and hands down the best restaurant at Big Cedar. They bring cheese profiteroles to start with. It tasted like a cross between croissants and Brazilian bread (incase you are wondering). They gave us this tiny crostini with goat cheese, smoked salmon and other stuff on it. Not sure what all it was but it was quite the bite. For starters, we tried the Pommery Mustard Lamb Chops: Bell Peppers and Fennel, Garlic Lemon Dipping Sauce Our waitress said that the chef recommends it medium rare. My wife and I can't handle anything "rare" unless it's fruits or veggies so we went with medium. It was pretty perfect. Came with 3 chops. The sauce tasted more lemony than mustardy. So good. For our entrees, we had lobster & sea bass. We had the Lobster Thermidor: Gruyere Crusted Lobster in the Half Shell Garlic Chive Potato Purée Fine Green Beans Nothing I can say other than this was awesome and filling. Lobster was cooked perfectly. And the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass: Roasted Red Pepper Risotto, Braised Asparagus, Sweet Pea Purée Lemon Herb Butter Sauce Fresno Chili Oil Another amazing dish. My wife had this and she wiped that plate clean. The risotto... I haven't had a risotto cooked this perfectly and flavored so well in a long time. I kept stealing spoonfuls from her plate. The sea bass literally melted in her mouth like butter. (I tasted it and can attest to her description.) As a complimentary dessert, they give you two macarons. We didn't have room for additional dessert. The view is lakeside and the music is live acoustic. Need I say more? Such a great spot & highly recommend. read more

I came here for a special occasion and we loved our meal and the atmosphere! We shared the cocktail shrimp and lobster ravioli as appetizers, seafood pot pie and sea bass for our entrees, and soufflé for dessert. Everything was so delicious! The service was also amazing and thoughtful. We made reservations for right when they opened and as a result of that, we received a wonderful table with a gorgeous view of the water. We had such a great meal tonight on our first trip to the Worman House since it's reopening. The food and service were so precise, and the view of the lake made for a great experience. We enjoyed the complimentary amuse and rosé, and our 6-year old was delighted with his complimentary sparkling grape juice to join the toast. The French Onion Soup and Short Rib were both incredible and very rich, and we enjoyed the tuna tartare to start. Thanks for such a great visit. read more

It was hard to finish the dish. I got the Aged 28-Day beef filet, the cut of meat was beautiful, but I ordered it medium well and it came out medium rare the first time... they took it back to cook it more, and came back still on the rare side of medium. I get it if chef doesn't like to cook above medium, I'd appreciate them saying something and so I could have ordered another protein, it was very hard for me to eat it and ultimately could not eat this very expensive filet. Seating request not accommodated, we made a reservation for birthday and requested for a table by the window. The reservation was for 7pm, we got there a little earlier and there were 2 tables by window available but she explained that they were requested by someone who reserved it before we did. Ok, bummer but totally understandable. However, the tables remained vacant until almost 8pm and by then, 2 other window tables have turned. This was just a little disappointing given (in my opinion) it could had been better managed to make a birthday kid very happy. My husband and I just left this awesome restaurant! We were treated like a King and Queen! The ambiance was more than 5 stars! It was very upscale with such class! There were huge beams, stone and wood fireplaces, every kind of animal heads on the wall. Gorgeous cathedral ceilings and a huge wall of windows overlooking Table Rock Lake. My husband got the best dinner of his life The Venison Ribeye steak and I got the Sea Bass that was mouth watering! We started with their complimentary champagne and crab fritters. We ended with their complimentary macaroons! The servers were over the top professional and gracious! She even offered to take a picture of us on the balcony overlooking Table Rock Lake! We have been here twice and to be honest we haven't found anything bad about this place. Great polite service, never rushed, They bring you out little horderves when you sit down. We have had the seared sea bass, the short rib with mushroom risotto, tuna tartare, lobster ravioli and i can't pick a favorite because it was all so delicious. Short rib was very tender seasoned to perfection, mushroom risotto is my jam for sure, so much so I had them put mushroom risotto with the seared sea bass! Sea bass here is probably the best piece of fish I have ever eaten hands down, it was light flakey and that sear was perfect both times (I tried my wife's the first time and ordered it the 2nd time) All in all it is a great choice if you want to step out for the night. But keep in mind it's on the pricier side! Definitely one of our favorite places now. read more

It has a cozy, regal look with great views and reminds me of an upscale restaurant you might find in Colorado. The wine selection and craft cocktails were fabulous. The chef's tasting of pork belly on a thin slice a corn bread was delicious. My husband and I had the lamb chop appetizer, which was to die for! Order it medium-rare. My husband had the short ribs and I had the Chilean sea bass for our entrees and they were both stellar. We ended the night with cream brûlée and an espresso martini. She was engaging and answered all the questions that we had. Jennifer, the sommelier and manager, came over to give us input on our wine selection for the evening. She gave us a very good option for what we wanted and it was not the most expensive wine on the menu. I had the best steak that I have ever had, cooked perfectly. Loved ambience, rustic French with great window view for our table. Small serving of Sparkling wine, on the house, was a nice gesture to start the service. We tried Lobster ravioli, lamb chops, and one more appetizer- nothing out of ordinary, but they were tasty. Scrumptious Bread biscuits with whipped butter killed us to finish our entrees. My son got sea food pot pie- huuuuge! Good enough for 2-3 people. I had sea bass and it's braised and steamed asparagus was juicy. Soufflé was underwhelming.. . Have had better soufflés. Service could have been improved. We had to ask twice to clean the crumbs from table before bringing entrees. That's the least expected from fine dining with $$$ price. This is the best Johnny Morris Restaurant I've been to. The food was good. Except for the lobster dish that was ok. Escargot was fine, lobster ravioli was fine, filet was vey good. Service was way off. Did not feel welcomed when we arrived. Told to wait while they prepared our table which we were 10 minutes early. Restaurant was basically empty maybe 8 tables full in a large dining room. We went to the bar, sat at the bar waited for service for our 10 minutes, never asked for a drink order. We got up went back to the couches in the lobby and sat. Waited 5 more minutes and then were called. Service at the table was good. Ordered a drink that finally came near the end of the meal. Was bumped when table clearer reached across me to clear the plates. No excuse me, to which I said should I move? I'm reviewing a restaurant that the bill for two people was $315.00. I think you feel pretty good about yourselves but you fell short on my first and last trip to your restaurant. read more

Highly recommend!!! We moved to the area last year from Texas. Since then we have visited many of the Big Cedar restaurant locations numerous times. This visit, before supper, we had drinks in the newly renovated downstairs bar. Enjoyed the atmosphere and astonishing sunset views. Seating is well thought out. The drinks were outstanding. At Worman, Hostess Perfect greated us with a glowing smile and was a warm ray of sunshine. Our server while dining was Jenna. She was professional, throughly knowledgeable of the menu and truly amazing.But the most solidifying aspect for what makes Worman House truly amazing for us was Noemi! We have dined with her before and she was beyond outstanding. During this service, she spotted us in Jenna's section and made a point, with proper timing, to come great us and visited for a few moments. Noemi was so sweat and made us feel so welcomed.
