At first, I was very apprehensive to try acupuncture in a communal setting, though it was the best acupuncture experience I've ever had. I have never make a purchase or traveled anywhere without reading every review possible, however, I have never felt compelled to write my own, until now. For over a month I have been having lower back pain, so much so, that it limited all physical activity (and I am very active). The pain began to get increasingly worse until it became difficult to get out of a chair. I began a series of chiropractic treatments along with other modalities but was getting no relief. I was told about Danielle at the Zen Den and thought I would try acupuncture as a last resort. I went for one 30 minute treatment at 9:30 a.m. and by 2:00 p.m. I had almost complete relief. 3 days have gone by and I am now back to my complete workout routing of yoga and weight training with no back pain at all. I was beginning to accept that my pain was a result of getting older and maybe this is something that I just may have to accept but now know this is not the case. I've been in town visiting from Las Vegas and suffering from excruciating lower back pain L/4-L/5 and sacrum region. The Zen Den was my first experience to acupuncture. I had three visits in the past week and I cannot say enough about my appointments so, here are the best points. Michelle, there are two Michelle's but the acupuncturist that treated me was brunette (not sure if the other one is too). She is fabulous! Great with communication and extremely gentle and kind. Spent a great amount of time with me to cover all my needs and made sure I was more than comfortable and checked back always to see if I was ok. The vibe of the studio is absolutely wonderful. Quiet, dark, flowing with different soft sounds to put your mind and soul at ease. So easy to fall asleep and take in your healing experience. Last but not least, the whole staff are so friendly and inviting. Good thing I didn't find out about The Zen Den on my first day of vacation because I might have just stayed here the whole time :) read more

I saw this place on Yelp and read the many positive views so when I started having knee pain from a bone spur and continued to have back pain from a disc problem, I decided to try acupuncture along with my physical therapy. I was a bit nervous at first, but Melissa put me at ease and made the first experience very pleasant. I have continued to see her weekly and will continue on a regular basis. The fact that this is group acupuncture made me wonder if I could relax, but that has not been an issue. Melissa has created a soothing, peaceful environment so I feel comfortable and calm as soon as I walk in. My knee has improved so much that I don't always need my walking stick to get around, and I swear I have more energy and focus. I have been going to Melissa for community acupuncture for years and can only rave about her and the Zen Den Center. Community acupuncture may be unfamiliar to a lot of people but it is nothing to be afraid of--the space is peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly relaxing. Melissa and Michelle are gentle, compassionate, and all around excellent acupuncturists. I get better results here than I have with private sessions elsewhere that are three times the price.
