There is a narrative frame- device- that I found rather irritating. The protagonist is an old man who hires an actor to tell the story. This is over done and should be cut down. The first act is rather dull. It does come alive in the second act and redeems itself.Hence I wound up enjoying the play. If I were directing and I could take liberties , I 'd try to bring it more in line with the book. If it isn't scary it isn't anything. Too much dithering in the first part of the play.The actors , in challenging roles, did yeoman work. On the theater itself, the seats are very uncomfortable. It has a nice bar. If you live here, these rights of nostalgia-laden passage and hard core fundraising mean that with the last chorus of their alma mater fight song "Old Nassau" the town will soon become ghosted for a few months leaving stores and restaurants empty and available for casual browsing and mob-free dining. Until next year and the greatest fireworks show absolutely no one knows about. Five stars for the Tigers... we'll miss you while you're gone and I forgive you for the ridiculous sport coats.

Of course, contact the staff there for more information on current course offerings. Already done college? Besides being a fantastic satellite campus, Abington offers continuuing education courses and is host to cultural events open to the public, such as musical performances and movie showings. Words cannot adequately describe the impact that Penn State Abington has had on my life and the opportunities it has provided to me, and for a reasonable cost. I've seen other Fortis locations…read morelisted, but they have different addresses, so to be clear, this review is for the Fortis Institute located at 450 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Ste 200, Houston, TX 77060. I attended this school for the Medical Assistant program to work toward becoming a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant). At the beginning, my experience was okay and I didn't have many issues with my classes or instructors. However, as I got further into the program, my experience started to change. There were three staff members in particular that I had issues with. 1. Ms. Marin: I later found out that she would talk about me and my friends, and there were times when she would call us out in front of the entire class in a way that made us feel singled out or less than everyone else. I don't think students should be made to feel embarrassed in front of their classmates, especially by an instructor. 2. Ms. Nun: Whenever I had class with her, I felt like we barely learned anything. I specifically remember my friends and I asking if we could go through the skills list and practice different things to see what we still remembered and what we needed more help with. We were trying to make sure we were actually prepared, but our request was basically ignored and we barely practiced anything. 3. Ms. Moxcley: Toward the end of the program, we were told that we would receive assistance with finding employment. I remember reaching out to her multiple times about finding a job, but I would either receive no response or very little communication. Because I wasn't getting anywhere, I recently contacted Ms. Goss for help finding an MA position. I explained that I'm specifically interested in working as a Medical Assistant in an OB/GYN clinic. She told me she would call me. When she called, I happened to be busy and missed it, but I returned her call shortly afterward. She didn't answer, so I sent her a message letting her know I had called back and was available. This happened Tuesday. By Friday, I still had not received a response to any of the messages I sent afterward. I finally sent another message, and she responded saying she would call me "momentarily." I waited about two hours and still did not receive a call. That is what finally pushed me to leave this review. One of the things students are told is that Fortis will help them with employment after completing the program. In my experience, once you're finished with the school, getting that help has been extremely frustrating. Messages go unanswered, communication is inconsistent, and the employment assistance I was told I would receive has not been what I expected. I also don't understand the point of asking students what area they want to specialize in as an MA if the positions they are being directed toward aren't related to what they said they were interested in. I understand that nobody can guarantee you a specific job, but there is a difference between not being able to guarantee employment and simply not communicating with a former student who is actively asking for assistance. I completed my program and I'm genuinely trying to start my career and put my education to use. I'm not asking anyone to hand me a job. I'm asking for the career assistance and communication that we were told would be available to us. Unfortunately, my experience trying to receive that assistance has been extremely disappointing.

Tonight I had the extreme good fortune to hear the students of the Westminster Choir perform The…read moreMessiah at Lincoln Center. As someone who has both sung a fair amount of choral music and listened to even more, I have a well-trained ear and am very picky where vocal music is concerned. The star of tonight's performance was the Choir itself. Much of the credit goes to the Choir's director, Joe Miller, who made sure that the unisons, the fast-paced coloratura passages, the diction, the pitch, the dynamics and the balance were perfect. But a director can achieve ultimately only what his singers can produce. Clearly, the relationship between the choir members and their instructors at this fine school is very, very special. I've heard The Messiah several dozen times over the course of my life, often sung by world-famous choirs, and this was among the best performances I've had the pleasure to hear. During the standing ovation, the loudest cheering was not for the soprano or tenor soloist (both terrific) or for the superb New York Philharmonic. IT WAS FOR THE CHOIR. Hear Hear! What a calling card for an institution of higher musical learning!
