We…read moredrove through during a trip, and stopped for a quaint lunch at 'The Spot', an old-fashioned diner with a small-town feel and great classic American food, and afterwards, walked around downtown and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Sidney is a small town of about 20,000 people, and it's surrounded by corn fields, but it has a surprising amount of standard midwestern comfort: Walmart, Chipotle, Applebees, a Chinese Buffet, etc, and bunch of smaller, non-chain type restaurants too. We walked around the courthouse downtown, which features 4 fountains and sitting areas from which you can enjoy the light traffic and passerby's, along with the beautiful architecture in the area. Apparently they have nice parks in the city in general, but we didn't get a chance to explore those. The only thing the city lacks is a Tesla Supercharger. The city seems to have a history of adapting, from river/canal based travel, to rail, to interstate. Hopefully they continue that tradition of embracing development.
