One experience that really stood out happened before my surgery. I happened to stop a nurse named Maria in the parking garage to ask for help clarifying my pre-op instructions. She didn't hesitate for a second to help me, and to my surprise, she ended up being the nurse who prepared me for my surgery! It felt like such a reassuring and positive sign, and her warmth and professionalism immediately put me at ease. Before, during, and after my surgery, the attention to my comfort and well-being was outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful experience feel calm, supportive, and even uplifting. The EMT girl on the way hit my arm and left a bruise, when I told her I was nauseous she ripped open an alcohol swab and stuck it in my face, acting like I was a know-it-all saying, "Oh I thought you knew this" she then said she was gonna "sit This was an absolute nightmare, my mrn number was 1835555, and when I was admitted I was in crisis. A police officer from the floor underneath the room they locked me in due to covid said he wanted to "Shoot me in the head 5 times" and all the staff heard. The staff then assured me he "got a call" Quality of care was very neglectful, save for one male nurse. The type of care: They Straight up told me they were doing a "rapid taper detox" Off my benzos I had been taking for 5 years. When I told them I know tapering too fast off benzos can cause brain damage and that I knew depression was mostly situational they didn't care. This was April 5th of 2024, There were a few good nurses but they were mainly a male nurse and Julia, everyone from the front desk workers to nurses act like nothing is their job. There needs to be 1000% more accountability in these work settings, other countries aren't like this. I made my appointment ~6 weeks in advance, and it was not easy to get. It was for 11 AM. I arrived at 10:35, just to give myself plenty of time for paperwork. At 10:50, my name was called and I went in with the x-ray tech. She took my x-rays within ten minutes, and then informed me the "doctor moves pretty slowly, so it will be a few minutes before she sees you. But don't worry she spends the same amount of time with you as everyone else". To me, that means 15 minutes or so. After waiting about 20 minutes, the medical assistant comes in to ask me preliminary questions, then she leaves and says she will go inform the doctor of my responses and be right in to see me. 10 minutes pass. 20 minutes pass. It gets to be an hour past my appointment time. Still no doctor. FINALLY, at 12:15, 75 minutes AFTER my appointment time, the doctor rolls in! My appointment was a decent amount of time, the doctor was thorough, not warm and fuzzy, but very knowledgable. I am pleased with her answers and recommendations. She recommended trying product X, a shoe insertion. She explained how to use it. Then went and got one to show me, she said "here we can give this one to you to get you started". I assume that means they are giving it to me, at no cost. Finally at 12:50, when I'm leaving, I start to exit the office, and I head "excuse me! excuse me! That sample is ten dollars." Like whatever, I paid the $10.00 and left. But I would have gone to CVS and gotten the same product for $4.00 had I known... Doctor should have told me of the cost. Overall one of the most annoying experiences of the year. Because the doctor is highly recommended and I did feel she knew what she was talking about, I will see her again. I will try for her Rocky Hill office instead of the larger Hartford office, where they feel they can take 2 1/2 hours of my day (I was using my one hour lunch break.. Ha!) for a 30 minute appointment. Get your scheduling together. Felt good to get that out there!

They need to clearly post this policy online so people such as myself are not taking PTO to show up for an appointment, and be treated like a walk in, which they claim it's their policy to do?! As a result, I was sitting in the waiting room for 25 minutes before I was called while they took all the walk-in appointments. I can completely understand if they're running late, but it is extremely disrespectful to my work schedule for me to take time off of work to show up there on time and then have them prioritize walk-in appointments over my scheduled appointment. I ended up having to get a refund and leave without being seen, which is absolutely ridiculous.
