Us foreigners living in London (especially an italian) receive a lot of visits from our countries,…read moreand of course the people visiting need a way to exchange currency and get sterling pounds: in the first months living here I've seen people horrendously scammed by high street change booths that gave ridiculous rates, more often than not complementing those with processing fees, commission charges, etc. I first found change link on an occasion where I needed to bring to Italy around 1500 pounds. I went to my bank, and they offered me a change rate which was considerably lower than the published inter-bank rate, so I was looking for something better. On that particular trade, change-link saved me around 70 euros, which was pretty astonishing to me. Since then, this place has become my (and my friends') one-stop shop for currency exchange: it consistenly has lower rates than other places, and we have never had any problems with them. Also, their web site ( http://www.change-link.com ) publishes their rates in real time, which is a very good thing to do: what you read on the site is what you get when you go there. (Note: if you have time, though, specialized companies online seem to be generally able to provide slightly better rates: look at www.sendmoneyhome.org for a list).

Best foreign currency exchange rates I've come across in London…read more Great value for money, what you see on their website is what you will get in store, and you don't have to prepay for the currency to get the great rates you see online! It's never as packed as the other currency company around the corner that most ppl seem to flock to. It also really helps that the customer service is on point. You don't feel un welcomed here, unlike the other currency company around the corner. They also always offer you an envelope ! Lol I need not go to any other foreign currency company again. So far this is the NUMBER 1 foreign currency company for the BEST RATES, I've searched high and low and no other company beats this company's rates.

Avoid at all costs…read more I called them up on Thursday 1st October and spoke to a lady who told me the exchange rates. I asked her specifically if they would buy my 1 and 2 Euro coins. She said yes. I arrived with my notes and coins and the man behind the counter bluntly and rudely stated "We don't accept coins". I told him I spoke with a lady on the phone the day before who said they did. Then another man, who later revealed himself arrogantly to be the owner, said no one else worked there and he did not care who I called and spoke to and insisted that he would not accept my coins. He then told me to "Go to Marks and Spencer's, I am not changing any of your money here.", whilst accusing me of being rude. Go to Euroexchange on Charing Cross Road instead. They are friendly, have a good rate and they exchange coins. Heck, go to Marks and Spencers like the guy told me, at least they will treat you like a human

Went to UAE Exchange Forest gate to exchange some Euros & I already had some knowledge about how…read moremuch the local money exchanges were giving and I have to say I was pleasantly suprised, their rate was really good and their customer service was brilliant the added bonus was the fact that they dont charge you any commision unlike the other places, I have informed all my friends and family to change their foreign currency here as they seem to have the best rates around and most of them said the same when they tried them so try them, you wont be dissapointed!

The jerk Muhhamed which probably smells his crusty farts behind the glass booth added a 15% commission without consent and gave me a folded receipt. He acted like he was really helping us out and I dropped my guard...Im sure karma will get the best of him. Horrible first experience on dealing with a currency exchange company. When I pointed it out he said no refunds and pointed to a tiny sign at the corner of the counter that said there was a 15% commission but while I was in line I overheard him telling customers that they were not charging commission. I even found a receipt on the counter to point it out to him. The exchange rate was horrible too but I needed money. I emailed the company but no response. I figured there a heartless corporation takin advantage of first time travelers and elderly people.

I use Ace-FX regularly for travel money, as they're located near where I work in Canary Wharf…read more They're not the very best rates in London (you have to go to Central London for those), but they're still very competitive and easily the best rates in the area. They don't keep stocks of currencies apart from Euros and US Dollars, so you have to preorder in the morning to collect in the afternoon for anything else. They've always been quick and efficient whenever I've dealt with them, although sometimes there are queues during the lunchtime rush at the Canada Place store (there are two in the Canary Wharf mall). On one occasion they didn't get the delivery of the currency I wanted, but they said if I came back the next day, they'd give it to me at their wholesale price, which is more than fair.

They sometimes even offer you a better rate if you're willing to take a load of small bills off their hands. Oh and the fresh juice stall opposite the bureau de change does some wonderful freshly squeezed juices!
