They feel rather like staying in a friend's guest room, or maybe a friend's grown daughter's former bedroom. I found the room we stayed in charming; but this may be a pro or a con to you depending on your tastes. All rooms have ensuite baths. One room has a Jacuzzi, but we didn't stay in that one. The town itself is rather small, and you'll need to go outside it to find any lasting entertainment. But nonetheless, this is the place to stay if you find yourself in Belhaven.

She was very accommodating and pleasant and went above and beyond to make sure the stay was great. For example, when she realized my mom was using a rollator, she made the recommendation to move our room close to the elevator. My family has stayed at this location numerous times and said Felicia has always been great and amazing for years. Amanda also was amazing. They have to guys that work there that need to work on their personalities. I had to call maintenance because of a leak but it was addressed immediately. The breakfast each morning was very good. The beds are very soft. The hotel is dated but we'll kept.

Someone did come fix it. The water pressure is very low in the shower and the sink is super low. The ice machine is not working so they give you a block of ice if ask at the desk. The continental breakfast was really good. The pancake machine is a great touch. The little one enjoy the pancake freshly made for them. The cinnamon bun they always served are still full of southern sweetness. Great breakfast after my morning bike ride. The pool remains to be the highlight of my stay. I can't swim, but walking in it for couple hours is great for my arthritis knees. The gym is small. A bike, treadmill, an elliptical. Each piece of equipment has its own tv. Which on the bike the TV did not work. Nor was the TV on the wall working. There's was no sanitizing wipes available. The room was not vacuumed or dusted. The elevators are not being wiped down daily. Adv easy as this would be to be wiped down and it looking bad that you want a napkin simply to hit the floor button. Not good at all. Definitely all this place needs is a caring staff. A manager that wants his hotel to be the best hotel. I hope they get it back to the standards that made me want to return.

We occupied one of their cabins and found it well furnished, supplied, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Hunter, Birdwatcher, Wildlife Enthusiast, or just want to enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of the great outdoors, this the area for you and the Carawan's Motel and Cabins are the place to stay while visiting.

Well, nothing has changed, except maybe it is better, although I am unsure how that is possible. Becky is truly one of the most gracious hostesses ever! Each room is just as welcoming and warm for your arrival. Your name awaits you on the door, and a piece of chocolate is calling your name from the nightstand beside the bed. Water, and other beverages are in the fridge in the foyer/hallway upstairs outside of the rooms, with any extra amenities you may want to use, such as when you forget your toothpaste, or if you want to use the iron, etc. We went in December so the house was so eloquently decorated for Christmas. Becky always accommodates any special needs or requests for breakfast, such as nut allergies and hubs and I being vegetarian since the last time I frequented the Moss House. Becky is also always equipped with local restaurant recommendations, as well as fun things to do in the area. A little extra thing that I love, The Moss House has it's own little soap in the bathroom. They leave you a little bag to take the soap that remains home with you, so (1), you are not wasting soap by leaving it and it getting thrown away, and (2) You can enjoy the herbal soap at home, because it truly smells amazing! We've now stayed in all of the rooms available and I truly love each room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in any of them as they are all wonderfully accommodating and cozy!

Washington is a sleepy town but very pretty and peaceful. The Moss House had pleasant large rooms with modern amenities and lots of old fashioned charm. Our hosts went above and beyond to help us book dinner reservations and a sunset river cruise. They even had chocolate cupcakes to celebrate my boyfriends birthday! The rooms were very comfortable and really inviting. But the reason I will be returning? The breakfast! Both mornings the breakfast was interesting and made wonderful use of the local produce. There was plenty of fruit and local vegetables and we both indulged our sweet tooths with the pastries and sweet rolls! A fabulous find in a sleepy little town!

I notified the property and expected to not be charged, as it is ilegal under USERRA to do so when a soldier receieves official orders that conflict with a contractual agreement. Unlike many similar properties, the management and staff understand their mission and their purpose. When you arrive, expect to be greeted and treated like a welcome guest. The common areas are clean and very functional. There's only one elevator, so be patient. The rooms are cleaned to the highest standards, and you'll never find yourself in a room that isn't ready for you with maintenance issues. If for some reason you do have a problem, you'll find a friendly staff ready to ensure you are satisfied and happy. Be prepared to be treated well and appreciated.
