Proof of their mistake in paperwork.

Let's just say if I can give negative stars I would. I called for a consultation and Peter and Jessica (paralegal) made me feel like family. Peter sold me when he said "I don't get rich off adoption" that should have been the 1st red flag. I used them for a interstate independent adoption. I live in NV and the adoption was taking place in CA. I signed my contract and put down my $3500 retainer on 1/26/22. No contact what so ever after that date. I called them (2 weeks prior to my due date) cause baby was due in April and Jessica had no idea who I was. She starts saying they have over 300 cases and she apologized and said she should know more "But you aren't getting rich on adoption" I guess that triggered something cause the emails started and Peter reached out with do you have a social worker and after placement visits. I am pretty good at asking all questions up front and I asked him during the consultation was anything else needed, he said no. Then 2 weeks prior I needed these things. When I confronted Peter about this miscommunication all he said was " I'm not a social worker and I can't tell you what else is needed" but you're my attorney who took on this case knowing what is needed, second red flag. He recommends a social worker by the name of Lorin Pinn. She is a different story but If recommend by Peter find someone else. She outsourced my service to a woman name Susan Westgate while on vacation and she was the reason my adoption didn't go through. She fed birth mom lies and basically said I am responsible for payment when that wasn't in my contract. I put this detail in this review because Peter recommended this person. I get to the hospital for delivery and the hospital didn't have my paperwork , what do you know Jessica and Peter assured me everything was fine, come to find out the hospital did have my paperwork just my attorney Peter and his team didn't know my & my husbands name and sent it in someone else's name ( third red flag) and should I have expected anything less. They didn't know who I was when I called earlier in the month. Birth mom pulled out unfortunately, but it was the way Peter treated me and his money hungry ways that I feel I needed to leave this review. While mom was pulling out he had zero empathy proceeded to send me an invoice ( the same day) with no details and then says should have billed more.... Gave you discount. His invoice wasn't Forthcoming with what was being charged. So I asked for more details $300 for a text message!!! (But remember he isn't trying to get rich off you) I let him know his services were no longer needed and what do you know... he started reaching out get this free of charge cause "he cares" worst experience of my life and this is the person I was dealing with. Stay far away from this law firm they care about money not you & you're 100% just a number to them.

They really need to start giving the option of negative stars. I called to meet with an attorney…read morewith their firm - Attorney Weiser. I was impressed with his CV. Instead I get a call back from Associate Attorney David Doria. Not so impressed. I'd called needing an attorney to help wrap up a parent's estate. Not write a new law, my issue is not brain surgery, nor rocket science. My need was not going to make case law. I just need someone respectful. There was no, sorry for your loss, nothing like that. Just a slam, bam, no thank you, mam. He was not pleasant. He was arrogant. I'd left a message that I needed someone who could wrap this up soon, so he starts up - I can't do this in 24-hours.... WTH? You can't even book a massage in 24-hours. I told him it might take 20-25 hours, so he says 30 hours? I can't get that done any sooner than two months, my schedule is full. So why did they pass me off to him in the first place if this was the case instead of having the person who took the call just call me back and say they had no room at the inn? It was not a good fit from the get-go. So he goes on to what? Show me his legal prowess? He claims that Ameriprise and Riversource will trip you up on purpose so they get to keep your money longer. This is ridiculous. Next time I speak with them, I will surely pass this message on, so they can have someone call him back. WTH? It's a clear case of an estate to be closed. No complications. I told him I'd been with a worldwide firm and was a small fish in a very big tank and when I asked for a new attorney there because the one I had had no time to finish this up...it didn't work out and I spent a lot of money for nearly hardly anything to be done in four months. He wanted to know immediately how much money I'd spent. WTH? Right? He has no time, slights two financial institutions and wants me to open my check book to him because he's curious? Everything I said, he had a reason why it was wrong and he was right - there is no way anyone who wanted the business or a good review would respond like this. I don't know this man, but by spending about 14 minutes on the phone with him, I was ready to hang up. I was polite, but I've been around the sun many years, and been in the corporate world dealing with Silicon Valley CEO's, programmers and scientists - primarily male. Nothing had gone from 0-60 like this in my entire career. Frankly, the tone, the questions, the comments.... It didn't feel like I was being listened to, or that he really wanted to make anything clear. It was like a meandering dance with a rattlesnake. Not sure where he was going to try and string next, or why. It felt like he wanted me to hang up. For me, it felt like a misogyny issue. It sure wasn't a good experience. Why would someone treat a potential client this way? This place is too busy, too rude and clearly doesn't want your business, or at least my business. I highly recommend David Doria for men, not good men, but men who don't want to speak to women. These men might have a chance at getting past the initial 14-minute call without feeling like they had their head bitten off, or needing a shower (in a bad way). There are other attorneys at this firm, but their initial protocol might be to send new business to this guy. God forbid you have a female judge. Now, like I said, this is my review of being with him for 10-maybe 14 minutes. Maybe I caught him on the wrong 14 minutes of his day. I completely lost track of time. My next call back was from a lovely attorney. A partner, whom I am meeting with later this week. I imagine it will take $10k-14k to wrap up. So that is...this firm lost roughly $928.00 a minute for the duration of the time we spoke. Maybe they should have someone else do intake with him on another phone. Have a partner sit in when new business comes in until he learns to be respectful of new business. That's what doctors do. That's what bakers do until they figure out the process. That's what sales people do. And veterinarians. Editors. Teachers. Just a thought. His CV reads that he's a really great guy raised tons of money for really worthy causes and did great things at university. It does leave out when he graduated from law school. He must have some good qualities, I just did not find them. Maybe he'd be the best attorney you've ever had. I am just pissed he wasted my time in such a frivolous manner. Please, people leave a ton of reviews to prove me wrong, I hope you do.

Kurt was easy to work with, explaining the process in simple English and ensuring we understood everything. I was so impressed that my husband and I had our own family trust written at GLKHW. Now that my mother has passed, I am in the process of closing out her trust. We are working with David Doria to complete this. He has been a godsend, making sure I understand and complete my duties, keeping me on track, answering a multitude of questions, and checking in with me regularly. He even took the time to answer questions about my mother in law's trust documents. David is knowledgeable, personable, respectful and kind. I trust his judgement and feel confident that his advice is sound. I am so grateful my mother found Greenman, Lacy, Klein, Hinds and Weiser, and that I have legal representation that I can trust implicitly.

She reviewed my purchase contract, disclosures thoroughly, caught what mattered, and gave me honest, no-BS clarity on my next steps. From the moment we started, she skipped the fluff and got straight to work. Every minute counted and none of it was wasted. Her background as both an attorney and a real estate agent gives her perspective that most attorneys simply don't have. But what struck me most is that she is a true advocate for you.
