Do not hire these lawyers they don't reach out to help you. I had to call them constantly to see how my case was going. They did the bare minimum and charged top dollar. Don't waste your time I would never recommend them or use them again. Once my case was over I asked for a final bill which I paid and then they send out another after that. I was able to use Attorney Loretta Barron for multiple family RFO hearings and also a family court trial hearing. Mrs. Attorney Barron has been beyond great with communication and keeping me informed with the case during regular hours and emails after hours. Her Paralegal Kenia also has been very informative and always keeping me in the loop with each step. In the court room Mrs. Barron is aggressive without being verbally aggressive. She is an attorney who knows the family code and knows how to represent your case so you have a fair hearing. As a FATHER I always thought the family law was never in favor for a father but after multiple court dates and a family trial hearing I realized that it comes down to a skill and actual knowledge of family codes and knowing your case. Mrs. Barron has demonstrated that she over exceeds the minimum requirements and goes over and beyond for your case. I would highly recommend if you are a father and your doing the right thing for your child and have records for her to defend you then I would recommend her. And I would recommend also women also if you have a good case and proof and need representation then use Mrs. Barron. Again I cannot stress Mrs. Barron is diamond style attorney who will not break under pressure. I have used also Mr. Peter Thompson the head partner of the firm and I would say Mr. Thompson has skilled attorneys and he has been great to me and my family! Choosing Thompson and Belnap was one of my worst decisions for family law matters!!!! If you are looking for reliable, ethical and efficient representation in family law I urge you to stay clear!!! My experience with them was nothing short of a NIGHTMARE. I was represented by this firm for over eight months, and during that time not only did they fail to make meaningful progress on my case but failed to file critical documents and left me wondering where they even working on my behalf. They also withheld crucial documents that were vital to the outcome of my case. The most appalling moment in my experience with Thompson and Belnap came less than three weeks before a critical restraining order hearing. My attorney dropped my case completely, leaving me to defend myself in a matter that was essential to protecting both myself and my minor child. With only weeks left to prepare, I was forced to represent myself in a case that had the potential to impact our safety. This was a failure in every possible way. To add insult, I was hit with an inflated bill for service that was far less than mediocre! We purchased a home in the Vista 2 years ago and within 5 days of moving in it was flooded with raw sewage. awful. That Stephen guy is either an alcoholic or using substances. There was a very important document needed for my court date, he did not obtain it prior to the court date. I then had to get that document. Actually I was left to get ALL the documents, I even paid $100 to have one document overnight. He was completely unprepared for what was even presented that day, a studdering mess. People were making videos about him on social media because they were present via zoom. Please save yourself the headache and embarrassment. The first thing he did was try to accuse ME of doing something wrong with zero context.. are you my attorney or not? I read the other reviews after so I wasn't aware how bad of an experience I would have but let me save you the headache. I also requested an itemized list of services so that I would receive the appropriate amount of my retainer back....still waiting for that and the owner of the firm was emailed so... what is the hold up? read more

Let's just say if I can give negative stars I would. I called for a consultation and Peter and Jessica (paralegal) made me feel like family. Peter sold me when he said "I don't get rich off adoption" that should have been the 1st red flag. I used them for a interstate independent adoption. I live in NV and the adoption was taking place in CA. I signed my contract and put down my $3500 retainer on 1/26/22. No contact what so ever after that date. I called them (2 weeks prior to my due date) cause baby was due in April and Jessica had no idea who I was. She starts saying they have over 300 cases and she apologized and said she should know more "But you aren't getting rich on adoption" I guess that triggered something cause the emails started and Peter reached out with do you have a social worker and after placement visits. I am pretty good at asking all questions up front and I asked him during the consultation was anything else needed, he said no. Then 2 weeks prior I needed these things. When I confronted Peter about this miscommunication all he said was " I'm not a social worker and I can't tell you what else is needed" but you're my attorney who took on this case knowing what is needed, second red flag. He recommends a social worker by the name of Lorin Pinn. She is a different story but If recommend by Peter find someone else. She outsourced my service to a woman name Susan Westgate while on vacation and she was the reason my adoption didn't go through. She fed birth mom lies and basically said I am responsible for payment when that wasn't in my contract. I put this detail in this review because Peter recommended this person. I get to the hospital for delivery and the hospital didn't have my paperwork , what do you know Jessica and Peter assured me everything was fine, come to find out the hospital did have my paperwork just my attorney Peter and his team didn't know my & my husbands name and sent it in someone else's name ( third red flag) and should I have expected anything less. They didn't know who I was when I called earlier in the month. Birth mom pulled out unfortunately, but it was the way Peter treated me and his money hungry ways that I feel I needed to leave this review. While mom was pulling out he had zero empathy proceeded to send me an invoice ( the same day) with no details and then says should have billed more.... Gave you discount. His invoice wasn't Forthcoming with what was being charged. So I asked for more details $300 for a text message!!! (But remember he isn't trying to get rich off you) I let him know his services were no longer needed and what do you know... he started reaching out get this free of charge cause "he cares" worst experience of my life and this is the person I was dealing with. Stay far away from this law firm they care about money not you & you're 100% just a number to them. read more

Save yourself from the headache and expense of a "cheap" lawyer. I went through a Divorce and was simply told, "It could have been worse." I was underrepresented to a point where I felt ignored: multiple meetings canceled, while other meetings started 45 minutes after the scheduled time. This was not a cheap lawyer either. I had to ultimately let him go because I could no longer afford the invoices. I wish I had known this earlier because I would have faired much better financially had I not hired him in the first place. read more
